Brilliant day, so much anxiety during the week, thought we were going to feck it up. Began to believe after the second goal. Brilliant to share this with my nipper. Thought Guly and Jose were immense today, Morgan as well (esepcially after Deano went off). I think Jos must also be candidate for signing of the season, not just a great player but also a great character. Great scenes at the end, just a pity we didn't have that trophy to cap it all off. Adkins is a star, lets hope he does the bizz in the PL, I'm sure he can. Thanks to Markus, the only time I almost got emotional today was when he was mentioned. I think we all owe a great deal to Nicola as well, he seldom seems to get the accolades, but this season especially he has just got on with things in the background, top bloke. Good to see Chung joining in the celebrations, I am sure he will be a star next season. Best moment today, seeing the lineo leg it from the Kingsland several seconds before the final whistle, the ref must have given him the nod, absolute classic. Got home and watched it right through, Have to say that whatever else, the Beeb captured the atmosphere so well today. Sky really don't do that. I can't remember the last time Sky (or ITV for that matter) actually took notice of what was going on in the stands in terms of what was being sung and so on, and even their reference to the knobber on the tannoy telling us to keep off the pitch. If only they did not have the tosser Savage the coverage would have been top drawer. Claridge once again showed what a decent guy he really is as well.

Don't recall mentioning anything about anyone's tactical ineptness, my comment was light-hearted. But it does just show that playing the same way regardless of the situation can sometimes mean that the results don't always work out the way one would expect. I can't imagine Barca reverting to hoofball, but sometimes principles should be dispensed with. But then I really don't think Adkins has only one style, and is more than capable of changing tactics several times during a game.

This is simply the start of the process that will result in Premier League 2 in about 3 years time which together with the PL will become a virtual closed shop, possibly with 1 team being relegated to the Football League, but probably only after a play-off. That was the original prognosis, but it was modified to say it should not take as long. Still won't be ready for play-offs or the Japanese WC games though, but should be OK for pre-season. esepcially as that should start later this season because of the Lympics.

One of the most fired-up 5 minute cameos I have ever seen. Sad that he was injured because he is so important to us, but he would probably have been sent off before half time if he had not. I know its the done thing to criticise Guly, but anyone who actually knows about football would also see the amount of running and effort he actually puts in, again no stroller for those with real insight into how the game is played. The only problem with Guly is that he is out of form, lacking in confidence (maybe because ****s keep having a go at him) that is why I wouldn't play him, certainly not because he is a stroller. The only stroller there should be is the one that you should be pushed around in by your Mum.

Probably several names would come to mind, but sadly the honour apparently goes to Jimmy Gabriel (according to Yahoo). Must admit I don't even recall him being manager at Everton. 1 point from 7 games. No, its a must win. Simple. I know mathematically a draw or even defeat may be enough, but quite frankly we have to win for it to be in our hands. Really don't see why we need to have Bart on the bench. What we need is 5 strikers on the bench, and keep attacking even if we go 2 up. If we try to sit on a lead we will sit further and further back and in the end will concede and then we will panic. Attack is the best form of defence.
