  1. The fact that "Mr Clueless" actually makes perfect sense of course is irrelevant.
  2. Who'd have thought thirty year ago we'd all be sittin' here drinking Château de Chasselas, eh? In them days we was glad to have the price of a cup o' tea. A cup o' cold tea. Without milk or sugar. Or tea. In a cracked cup, an' all. Oh, we never had a cup. We used to have to drink out of a rolled up newspaper. The best we could manage was to suck on a piece of damp cloth. But you know, we were happy in those days, though we were poor. And you try and tell the young people of today that ..... they won't believe you
  3. Don't disagree, but the point is everyone at the top in the FA is corrupt or incompetent as well, its not something that is exclusive to Jonny Foreigner.
  4. Absolutely, we should have it controlled by the fat British corrupt crooks instead and/or the blazer brigade who are still locked in the 19th century. We (the UK) actually still have far more control than any other nation in the world, with the 4 home nations having 4 members of the IFAB and FIFA having the other 4 members ensuring that the Laws of the Game are maintained largely only with the agreement of the UK home nations.
  5. What is there to explain? Its simple, PL football & economics, what the hell do people expect? Really happy that he doesn#t blab on about meaningless stuff, when he speaks it is usually interesting and useful, but couldn't really give a toss if he wants to speak or not.
  6. No goalkeepers during extra time would spice things up and probably remove the need for penalties.

You could always walk (or run), and there is much food to be obtained from hedgerows and even roadkill to supplement the diet. Bloody kids today, don't know they're born :-)
  8. Really has lost his way, not just through injuries. Was sent off 3 times for Bradford last season (and only played 26 games), including his debut and second game. Suspended for 5 games for his involvement in the Crawly brawl. Surprised that Bradford have given him a contract to be honest.
  9. "Keen to resurrect his career in La Liga", so that probably counts us out then.
  10. This. Its fecking embarrassing being English sometimes.
  11. I suspect he was recommended by the Beavers, or the Brownies.
  12. Apparently he is running the lympich torch relay in swindon tomorrow, so is presumably planning to link up with De Canio next season. I will try to trip him up tomorrow as he runs past and see if I can get a scoop (he will presumably dive and roll around for a while first but I will stick by my task).
  13. You really are a complete arse. You epitomise all that is cRap about mesage boards. But then you are the expert aren't you..dull days. If you have trouble reading or understanding posts then I suggest you don' t bother replying because it makes you look like a **** which you may not really be in reality.
  14. You just don't get it do you? We had a 3rd choice keeper, his name was Michael Poke. He was perfectly able, indeed has played regularly for teams in League Two and give a very good account of himself during loan spells at Torquay and Bristol Rovers (Paul Buckle influence). Played a few games for us, and apart from one poor display showed that he was capable given time. Sadly we could not keep him because we already had 3 keepers (KD, Bart & TF) and so he was let go. Poke is about the same age, but has played over 50 times at Football League level. Made a mistake joining Brighton, but will have a football career, which is more than TF will in the long term unless I am very much mistaken. You seem to have a problem with people discussing this worthless player and why we continue to employ him, and yet you continue to defend him, perpetuating the thread that you seek to stop, perhaps you are TF in disguise. If so like him you will fail to stop anything.
  15. There is no longer a sell-on clause for Bale, part of the attempt to avoid administration was to cash that in.
  16. I asked you before who else is in his bracket? Who else is currently employed that cannot get a regular place in a non-league team? No-one. There is no-one in the category of "sham" at Saints currently. Even Pulis managed a few games with some League Two clubs. 4 games for Grimsby Town (when they were in the League), sent back because he was not good enough, 18 games in non-league, what sort of career is that? Can't even claim he is a youngster at the age of 25. People can move on, and everyone has, with the single exception of TF.
  17. Because he is now our 2nd choice keeper and is of such poor quality that he struggled to make it into a non-league team regularly. It seems ridiculous that we continue to pay a player who has no business calling himself a professional footballer, had no hope of getting a game for us when we were in League One, let alone now we are in the PL. People cannot understand why we continue to employ him, when it is perfectly possible to pay up his contract. As the OP questioned, is there something he knows that means we cannot pay him off? A final reminder of the bad old days of Lowe, how could anyone give a player of this ability a 5 year contract? Only Lowe knows I guess.
  18. Will we be allowed to refer to Oliver Bierhoff, deMarcus Beasley or Michael Owen once your ban on references to Messrs Skacel amd Messi is introduced. If you have a problem reading stuff on internet message boards then find yourself something else to do, its not meant to be taken seriously (although some people clearly think it should) and when there is no football actually being played it becomes a joke in itself. Anyway why would we want Messi, can't even get his team into the CL final, clearly washed up, we can do better.
  19. No, you're right Spiderman was nearly 19 when he signed so does not count as homegrown. 3 years prior to 21st birthday is the criterium which I was aware of. I thought Spiderman was younger than that when he signed. Seems like Lowe cocked that one up as well :-) I don't think there are any other players though who don't count as homegrown.
  20. Apart from Eric Martin, I have always had a problem with Scottish keepers. Gordon would be a better bet than McGregor. I see that Fabianski is leaving the Arse, we will need to bring in a Pole, otherwise the local support may drop off with Bart leaving :-)
  21. Connolly played for Ireland in 2002, missed penalty in shoot out in 2nd round against Spain. Rahdi will be missed but in the end he didn't play one single game last season, which was a sad way to end a career. I know it won't happen but would be nice to give Rahdi and DC a send off in a friendly pre-season.
  22. Not releavnt to this thread as is is aged 20.
  23. Correct, and even home-grown players do not actually have to have been with Sainst for 3 years, only that they have been registered with English (or Welsh) clubs for at least 3 years. We have absolutely no problem meeting this criterium, indeed I think approx 17 of our players qualify as "home grown", even Spiderman is in this category. Only exceptions are Jos, Jose, Chung, Guly and Steve (I've probably missed someone). Don't know why so many people have difficulty understanding the rules, they are relatively straightforward, and can be easily looked up.
  24. Great shame, I think he could have offered us a lot of experience in our first season back in the top flight. He remains a very classy forward with a tremendous football brain. It was not just his goals that helped us but his all round play and movement off the ball, creating space for Lambert etc. I guess he really could be said to be a victim of the 25 man squad rule, since it is not really viable to include a player who is unlikely to feature in 50% of games. We will need to esnure that we have 25 players who are likely to be available all season, of course unexpected injuries and suspensions will have to be dealt with. Godd luck DC, always enjoyed seeing you play and your class was clear for all to see.
  25. Not quite sure whether you are denoting spelling out the name. If so wan't it preceded by "2-4-6-8 Who do we appreciate"? Was a very common chant in the 60s and effective, but does seem a little dated now, and also fails to mention Pompey so is not considered appropriate any more :-)
