Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
VectisSaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
This stuff from MLT and Mr Peach really is so dull. So Mr Cortese is "not a very nice person". So what, who cares, even if its true (and being not very nice is very subjective). Roam Abramovich is not a very nice person, I suspect the people running Man City and Blackburn are not very nice, we have lots of not very nice people running football clubs, look at the whole host of them down the M27, gun runners, and other ne'er do wells. We have not very nice people running businesses, we have not very nice people running the country, we have some not very nice people who are footballers and some who were footballers. Our previous chairman was not very nice either. There are lots of not very nice people out there. It would be great if everyone was very nice and we all loved each other and world peace broke out. Life's a ***** sometimes. People who are successful in business are often ruthless, I am sure there are some aspects of Cortese's business and even personal ways are not to my taste or many others. Its a non-issue. The fact is that Cortese was instrumental in saving the Club along with the man that we all think was a very nice man (though very few of us actually know that for sure) and within reason as long as Cortese continues to run the club in a way that makes us more likely to be successful we should let him get on with it. If he was to start biting the heads off live chickens on the pitch, or using our cash to fund the KKK or something similar then maybe we would take all this stuff a bit more seriously. Please can the one or two individuals involved just shut the **** up unless they have something substantial and substantiated to say that would mean that this man is not a fit and proper person to run a football club. If you don't like the bloke, thats fine, we all have people that we don't like, but most don't go around **** stirring and making themselves look foolish. -
Its not just new posters, unless you are one of a small elite band you may as well not bother. The forum is hardly worth bothering with these days, every thread gets hijacked by the same small bunch of bores who end up just arguing with each other. If I could work out how I would cancel my subscription renewal (although I think it was only recently renewed).

No, but he is the Japanese Marian Pahars

I was planning to go along and boo Hoddle. Seems like I have missed out. First home game missed since last Christmas.

Agreed, I think this would be Corteste's nightmare, not dream. he may be a good defender but is the sort of person I would hate to have anywhere near Southampton. He is a total ****, and even now an acknowledged liar according to the FA following the Terry hearing. If we are fantasising (because that is what this is) i would rather have Baines now.

Actually from the evidence I have seen this season they have changed their style quite a bit, and are now playing some reasonably decent stuff on the floor. They still mix it up a bit when they feel like it though, which is a good thing, changing your tactics to suit, pity Woy did not do that on Friday, still trying to play pretty football around a parked bus.

Not when you can use your hands instead. Cheating b'stard.

As I said I don't really disagree with you, but you have to remember that until relatively recently Africa only had one or two entries in the World Cup, so there was no real motivation to have it less frequently, and in addition it used to be that the majority of the players played in their home countries. Its only a pain they have it every 2 years because it affects us Europeans. As I said I hate international football anyway, personally I would limit internationals to a 4 week period every summer and have done with it.
-
Why would we not play him? I think NA would play him if he was not injured, and given his latest injury was self-inflicted he has no-one to blame but himself. I think we will see him play quite frequently, in my opinion him and SRL up front is the best option, with Mayuka probably interchanging with Chung.
-
Every 2 years, is that too frequently (in my opinion it is because I hate international football)? Its happened twice in 2 years 2012 & 2013 because Blatter insisted it was changed to odd-numbered years to avoid World Cup years.
-
And don't forget they are missing Chung.
-
He is quick for a CB, I don't think pace is an issue for him. Don't see much wrong with him at all to be frank, just can't play at RB.
-
Zambia win 9-8, which is bad news for us, means Mayuka will be away: 19th January - 10th February 2013 in South Africa.
-
Now 7-7
-
Uganda currently 4-3 I think Now 4-4 after 5 each http://www.newvision.co.ug/news/636360-live-uganda-cranes-vs-zambia.html

Mayuka just scored penalty for Zambia in penalty shoot out against Uganda

Quote from BBC text commentary: "Daniel Fox has been the Scotland player dealt the hand of dealing with Gareth Bale for most of the night so far, and he actually is doing a pretty good job so far." Given that Scotland are 1-0 up Bale clearly hasn't taken anything to the cleaners today (except maybe his laundry), and he has been booked Quite amusing that England still only have 2 against the minnows of San Marino. I watched a complete knobhead on Sky earlier giving the odds for England winning anything up to 14-0, and 6-0 was very short odds. These people really have no idea about the dullness of international football where even a bunch of students and olive oil pressers can hold England to 0-0 for 35 minutes. I bet we would have more than 2 if SRL had been playing.

Where's the thread to abuse Charles Green ?
VectisSaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Interesting question, they are averaging nearly 47000 so far this season, actually higher than their home average for the past 2 seasons. I don't think anyone can beat Rangers with that particular stick, 47000 to watch 2 Sunday League standard teams is quite good really. Still, not much else to do in Glasgow I suppose :-) -
Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
VectisSaint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
In your case that is usually true Charmless. You are welcome to your opinion, but you just post things that are complete nonsense. And to brand Lallana's performance on Sunday as shocking really needs to be commented on. How can anyone with an ounce of sense really think his display was shocking. I read a lot of nonsense on here and post a lot of nonsense myself I'm sure, but really its like reading something a 2 year old would write sometimes, you really do wonder if some people actually watch the game or even follow football. -

No you're not the only one, I think some people hear/sing the Lallana/Messi song and actually believe it, not realising it is meant to be humourous. Lallana had a decent game on Sunday, not his best but certainly not as bad as ome strange people seem to be suggesting. -

No he wasn't. I can't believe anyone actually watched the game and comes away with the idea that Lallana was shocking. It is quite extraordinary. In fact he was actually pretty good (I watched the game live at SMS and then watched the full game again on Monday on Sky+). You do know which player Lallana is I assume, if you are not sure he wears 20 on his shirt. I might agree it was not his best game ever, but to say he was shocking is just unbelievable, he was partly responsible for their 2nd goal, thats all, he also supllied the corner that was converted for our first, he was the only creativity we had. -
I guess it depends which Horton Heath, if it is the one in Dorset then it may explain the language difficulties.

If we'd kept both we would not have been able to bring in Boruc. We didn't ship people out to cut wages (imho) we had to make room in the squad and still leave us with an option or two to bring in an out of contract player - it is still a moot point whether we have one space left or not. In my view I would rather have kept Martin than Seaborne but Martin has not been any good at Palace so what do I know? We have 5 strikers at the moment, how would we have kept 6 happy?

Not in the bottom 3 of the PL Not having to play the Skates or Brighton or Boscombe or Swindon or Rochdale or Barnsley or ...
