  1. They should put that material that you get in kids playgrounds outside night clubs, then when stupid drunks who cannot cope with drinking too much fall over as they emerge they might not sustain such serious injuries.
  2. So his only redeeming quality appears to be his pace. Pace is a great asset coupled with other assets, but from a standing start pace is wasted. Because he lacks a football brain, his movement off the ball is non-existent, and therefore he is always running from a standing start. Any opponent with a football brain (e.g. just about any player in the Championship other than ones from Pompey) will still get to the ball before him.
  3. Tell me who the 5th choice strikers are in each Championship team and I will then reply with a list of 23 5th choice strikers who are better than Forte. He is not and never will be a striker who is competent enough to play above League 1 or 2, it doesn't matter if he is 5th choice or not, he is not really capable of stepping in if needed, would be better off making Doble or Reeves 5th choice because at least they have the capabilit yof improving and one day being Pl or NPC level capable.
  4. Come on Saints, at least turn my 6 points into 10.
  5. At least until The Cup starts
  6. He was appalling against Swindon. Good impression of statue, no movement off the ball.
  7. Bad news for us, now they'll get someone good in, and with the squad they've got actually get them performing the way a half-decent manager would. Surprised he has gone quite this quick, but said before season started that he would not last long.
  8. Thought Trafford was in Manchester, United shirts in Manchester, must be a first, or were they getting some shopping before heading back down the M6.
  9. Of course he is, I didn't say otherwise, I was stunned that anyone would think he had split loyalties with Plymouth, he did at least sign for BHA, rather than just be loaned to Argyle. He is Southampton through and through, my point really was that being a Bath lad he might struggle more with loyalties between his first club and home and Saints, though the chance of a game between us at the moment is slim at best :-)
  10. Doddsy would not really have any affinity with Argyle, he only played for them briefly on loan, Brighton possibly more likely. But ask him to decide between Saints and Bath City and you might get a different answer. As for Mick, I think he would tell you in his own inimitable way where to get off with regard to the Skates, but he has a soft spot for Citeh and Norwich.
  11. Pulis could be the man, a goal assist yesterday as the Shots won, perhaps his "career" is now at a turning point and he could blossom. Then again...
  12. LOL, one of the most blatant handballs ever, almost caught the bloody thing. In his defence he did get a nudge in the back and thought he would get a FK, but stupid, always play to the whistle. There was a good argument that he should have been red-carded as he was last man. Ref appeared to have given him benefit of the doubt because he realised he had been pushed. As for Hammond looking disappointed showing he has good attitude, are you for real? So he should look disappointed, shocking attitude, two poor challenges deserved 2 yellows.
  13. Very pleased to earn a point in the end, yet we could have nicked it even with 10 men. Would have been very harsh on Reading who were **** hot except in front of goal. In our faces and winning every 50/50 ball at least for 55-60 minutes. We looked dozy and our passinng was woeful, which is very unusual. Guly especially was guilty time and again of giving the ball away. Hoofing the ball up to DC was also a pointless exercise, DC could not hold the ball up at all. At least if we are going to hoof do it for Rickie as he holds it up. Thought Cork was poor although very industrious, Chaplow was very good and unlucky a few times. Kelvin kept us in it time and again. Jos was solid, although 2 or 3 times in the 1st half his clearanw as poor. Srangely after they scored they no longer looked much of a threat, apart from some set pieces Martin did not have much to do. Jose was lucky to have not been red carded but he was clearly fouled before he handled, but as always should play to the whistle. Credit to Reading, you won't see many teams play that well and dominate us like they did. Just shows that their league position belies the fact that they are on a decent unbeaten run. Still, we're still top of the league, very happy with that. COYR.
  14. Sven was never manager of Notts County, he was DoF. Ian McParland and Hans Backe were managers during the time SGE was involved. Cotterill was brought in when SGE left.
  15. Solent lost their "effects" mic for a while early in the 2nd half, thats why it was somewhat quiet on the radio.
  16. Just hope its not Torres then :-) Drogba would do, decent backup for Rickie.
  17. Puzzled that the tannoy announcer said it was a club record attendance, yet it is actually 1 less than the attendance against Arsenal in 2003. The 1 difference is presmably down to me, I was there for Arsenal but couldn't make it tonight.
  18. Who? we need to stop concerning ourselves with teams battling against relegation, 5 above West Ham, Boro & Derby and 7 above Brighton and 10 above Reading far more significant.
  19. Brilliant. And to think we can't beat other top 6 teams and are useless without Lallana.
  20. Even better if you know the words to our own song. How about "Where's your stadium gone?" (the tune of Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep for those old enough to remember the crap song) (last line "gone with Seb Coe") I'll get me coat, scarf and gloves and beat a hasty retreat, making up football songs is really a bit sad.
  21. They will be asked to leave the bus at the next request stop. Nothing wrong with the idea, the prospect of players commuting more than 30 miles a day for training is patently ridiculous, commuting is not good for athletes. 30 miles radius is perfectly adequate, only problem we have is much of the area within 30 miles is under water. Still a daily commute from Ventnor would be an interesting prospect for a player with his own decent fast boat.
  22. Used to go to Fratton Park in the 70s, heard it was now a rubbish tip, do they have a new ground? Does Church Litten and St Georges Park count? Seriously Elm Park/Madjeski and old/new Wembley, not forgetting The Dell/SMS. Before anyone suggests it The Antelope was just a bit before my time.
  23. And all that without the previous generation, Shearer, Le Tiss, Wallaces and so on. Oaks is now at Exeter of course, tend to think of him as previous generation, not the same setup as Cranie, Mills, Bale and so on. Also ignores some of the other young talent that was not strictly in the Academy such as Kenwyne Jones. Still we all know Wenger is the master at spotting talented youngsters, not Southampton, so this must be all a load of made-up nonsense.
  24. But many of us thought it was good stuff then and still do, only the dinos like Arry & Jim & Bertie Bassett thought it was a bad idea. Lowe didn't do much right in my view, but some of his ideas made sense, shame he didn't have a clue how to implement them successfully.
  25. Actually 2 1/4 hours. So as it doesn't bother you why post, if you don't like my comment just feck off and mind your own business. For those of use who don't live in town it makes a great deal of difference.
