  1. But enjoy what? 3 weeks wasting the close season waiting for a deal to possibly go through, while our rivals appoint new managers, get deals in place for new players and so on. 3 weeks time, new owners hopefully start to put plans in place, so once again for the umpteenth season in a row we start behind the pack (not forgetting the 10 points deduction) and our pre-season is ****ed up again. Still cannot be argued that this is better than the alternative, no club, but afraid I cannot get excited, at least not yet
  2. I feel some peops are getting ahead of themselves. I'm very happy that entering a period of exclusivity and the non-refundable deposit means that the staff, and to a lesser extent the players will get paid, but this does not mean a deal is complete. It could still all fall apart. Thats what 43 years of supporting Saints has done for me, cynic.
  3. Carry On Up **** Creek Without a Paddle
  4. Nice sentiments Docker, but some of us have boycotted Barclays since the 60s when they propped up the racist government in South Africa and prolonged apartheid. However, they are not the villains in this case, the real villains of the piece are Lowe and Wilde. They are the ones who should be putting their hands in their pocket to help out the staff they employed (not the players) as Leon Crouch apparently has already done. But oh no, they walk away and get away with it scott free, bastards.
  5. No, its the Stewart, Collins, Mann, Townsend, Daltry and Wonder consortium...
  6. It depends, as long as this forum keeps running I don't think it will make much difference Most of my life is taken up reading the drivel on here, going to a game is a brief, welcome distraction.
  7. Pete Townsend? Roger Daltrey? Stevie Wonder? The Rod Stewart, Phil Collins and Manfred Mann consortium is spreading its wings...
  8. Maybe not, but might have paid his wages for a few weeks, or even paid for his agents fees. In the end throwing money down the drain does not help the club progress, and also distracts those in charge form the primary aim of a football club.
  9. We couldn't afford it in the first place, it lost money, thats why it was sold. Another silly idea that ended up costing us money that should have been invested in players to improve the football club.
  10. Do we actually know they were paying rent? Maybe Fry asked them to pay rent or get out and that pushed them over the edge. It was always a dodgy organisation anyway (I mean dodgy in terms of being viable, not illegal or something). It cost us when we owned it, so could never really see how it would make money when sold off, especially with advertising revenue seriously reduced in the recession. Sounds to me like this is probably just a coincidence and nothing to do with SFC/SLH.
  11. Thought that was the whole point. We exceeded our agreed overdraft limit and hence Barclays did the necessary. In other words Lowe and Wilde had increased our debt beyond that which they had agreed with Barclays Bank. Quite clear who is responsible for that, and of course none of Lowe, Wilde or their cronies put any money in to help. Yet somehow Crouch gets the blame (sorry not getting at you Mike). You couldn't make up some of the twaddle that gets written on here by some.
  12. People really do talk some nonsense. The situation with us and Pompey is completely different. We are not simply being taken over, with one guy paying another one the necessary. We are in Administration where our creditors call the shots. This is what happens when you have all the baggage of a plc, it is not simple, and to try to blame Fry for the mess is completely laughable. He has a job to do, get the best deal possible for the creditors, nothing more, nothing less. He is not responsible to the supporters, and sadly only slightly more so to the staff. He cannot just make the potential buyers hand over the money, there are lots of negotiations. It is only because some simplistic people on here think it can all be done in 5 minutes that we are worrying about it. Complex deals take time, and ultimately may not happen. We have to wait and see, I don't believe there is anything more Fry could do.
  13. Sailing was a cover of the Sutherland Brothers' song.
  14. Bloody hell, Manfred as well !!!! So thats Rod Stewart, Phill Collins, Jackson 5 and Manfred Mann. Who's next to join the consortium? Ronnie Wood? Peter Gabriel? Rick Wakeman? We could have some good concerts even if the football is crap
  15. The opening hours have been reduced. M-F was 8-4, now 9-5 (same hours but shifted by 1 hour), and not opening Saturdays.
  16. I'm sure Leon Crouch will be devastated not to have earned your respect. FFS when will twits like you realise that someone is trying their damndest to keep this club going. I can only think oinks like you actually want the club to fold. Still I guess I should not be feeding the troll.
  17. Perhaps he would bring Branfoot back with him
  18. Because they can. They can make up the rules to suit their agenda, and there is no legal comeback. When you join a club you agree to abide by their rules. We all know that politicians are corrupt, those involved in football seem to be doubly so...
  19. So its the Southern League for us then
  20. Whereas the BBC has Garth Crooks and the ex Slug Balancer, whoopee. Garth Crooks should stick to singing
  21. He will be good one day given the right management, you know someone good with working with young players, someone like that Pearson bloke at Leicester for instance. He definitely has a lot to learn still and will be OK at CCC level next season, although a season in L1 would probably do him good at this stage. I always doubted his commitment though, he has been linked with moves back to Nottingham before, and personally I will not lose any sleep if he goes. He is not what we need in L1 and isn't so outstanding that we should hang on to him at all costs.
  22. I think we should be called "Bye", one way or another it will be appropriate
  23. Is Fabrice back again? I bet the bracelet will be with his hair band.
  24. Thank goodness for that, one of the most over-rated irritating people around in football these days. Blackpool are welcome to him.
