Why no message from the FOOTBALL CLUB board in the matchday programme?
VectisSaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Have I missed something, who is Ken Tointon? -
But thats the problem the punishment does not act as a deterrent (sp?), the directors who caused the problem have not paid any price at all. It is the players and supporters who have been punished, just as it will be when the FL impose a penalty on us, Lowe & Wilde will get away with it scot-free.

Probably not Sky, just our age-old Forest bogey. They have always done us like a kipper.

Have to agree, he is the one and only youngster that will come out of this awful season and become a better player next term. The other kids that have played regularly have not really progressed, indeed in some cases (Surman, Lallana) have gone backwards, always the danger when you rely too much on youngsters. James may not have had the greatest season this year, but he will be a terrific asset next year based on a solid year's experience.

Looks like we had the same idea, and it must have worked, WOOT!
-
Perhaps if we moved the goal posts we might score. Do you think anyone would notice?
-
We won't score today then...
-
But I thought we were collecting today so that there could be a next home game

Wise man, would be foolhardy to get treatment from our physio, look what happens to our players

Interesting read, wish he could get rid of the awful Rodney Marsh google ad at the end

Actually 1st home league game this season was 18925, it was only AFTER this that the attendances dropped off steeply. And of course we had laready played Cardiff away before that, as well as numerous pre-season games where the evidence was there for all to see how things had turned out since Lowe had put Mr Nice But Dim and his mate in charge of a load of youngsters who were not ready for this level and loaned out some of best players. Difference last season with NP in charge was that people had HOPE, unlike after Wilde had brought his new cohort Lowe back in, when most rational people could see that most hope had been destroyed.

Administration can never be good. That said, we were effectively relegated before Christmas so Admin is not a factor in whether we get relegated. Assuming we do survive (and it is a big IF) then in the end it may be a bitter pill to swallow but it is the only way to get rid of the PLC Albatross that was preventing us being taken over. If you want to read that as "getting rid of Lowe" then so be it. Lowe created the albatross and Wilde fed it.
-
The only ones we should try to keep are Davis, James, Perry, Saeijs and Gillett. We are best off without all of the others. Sadly not much hope of Saeijs or Davis staying.
-
I don't blame him for his Dutch lunacy, I blame him for his all round lunacy. I blame Turncoat Wilde more so for even allowing Lowe's lunacy to have been given a second go.

She has been singing loud and clear for weeks now. I realise people want to keep believing, I would have done in the past, but this bunch of no-hoper players and managers have no fight, they are not up for it, mostly they don't care, those that do are unable to perform. I accepted relegation finally after Charlton, and now I'm just hoping that we avoid a points deduction next season, if we survive full stop. I still support the Club, but supporting the current team has just become impossible.

Oh please, the Lowe Luvvies were having a field day, taking the **** out of NP, calling him the worlds greatest manager and pointing out that Wotte had gained more points etc etc. Now the boot is on the other foot, these people, includign you seemingly, have selective memories and think these comparisons now are meaningless, or worse even deny they ever took place. It really doesn't mean much I have to agree, the fact is that NP kept us up, while JP and MW between them will take us down to our lowest level in over 50 years. NP turned a bunch of players with zero confidence and very poor fitness levels around after Burley, Dodd and Gorman did their best to finish them off, brought is some new faces and instilled passion and desire into the players and in the end just about scraped the desired result. MW has done nothing and the saddest thing is that we are going down without a fight, 6 or 7 games now without a win, and with no prospect of even looking like winning, players looking dejected and unfit (again), its pathetic, and the end reward for all of Wilde and Lowe's hard work in destroying this Club.

You can't polish a turd. Trying to get basics right at this stage in the season is a ridiculous notion. Our players and our coaches are simply not good enough. I still believe the players could have survived in this division with a proper coaching set up, but it is too late, and has been since well before Christmas. Wotte was very lucky when we won 3 on the bounce, but it is clear now that really he is no better than Nice but Dim JP. No better, just different.

Have to say that anyone who declared an interest publically I would dismiss as only being interested in some self publicity. Genuine bidders will be keeping their cards very close to their chests in order to ensure that their rivals cannot undermine their bids. I am very pleased that no-one has come out openly and made a fuss about their interest at this stage.
-
The only players I want us to keep are Davis, Saeijs, James, Perry and Gillett. We need to get rid of everyone else who was in the first team squad today. They are all losers and we need to be shot of the lot of them. Sadly I think we won't keep Davis or Saeijs. I see Fulham are sniffing round for Lallana again, if they are offering £1m or more we should bite their hands off.

Please explain how Ince knows the league? 3 appearances for swindon Town hardly qualifies him as being even remotely knowledgeable of Leage 1, unless you are speculating that we will be relegated 2 divisions. We do not need Ince. What we need is someone with some feeling and passion for Southampton Football Club. There is hardly any shortage of ex players who are now managers who are 10 times more qualified that Paul Ince.

Problem will be that we will not be able to afford the ferry fares to the Island 4 return fares per season will bankrupt us.
-
I've said it before, yes we do practice defending set plays... But we do it against our attacking players, hence the problem.
-
Don't think Molineux is on the Isle of Wight though, at least it wasn't when I was a nipper.

Rupert's still talking.. prepare to be surprised

And ayone who dismisses Crystal Palace as not serious opposition clearly had no idea what was going on at the time. With Malcolm Allison in charge, even with his hat, they were a force to be reckoned with that season, and ended it getting promoted. Most people had us as underdogs even for the SF, though that was primarily because the media was in love with Allison. In the end it desn't matter, you can only beat the opposition of the day, doesn't matter who they are. Anyone who belittles the achievements of the 76 team really has no sense of the enormity of what they achieved against the mighty Manure, eve if they had only been promoted back to Division 1 the previous season, having finished below us the season when we were relegated. -
I was 45 when I first took my nipper to football. I think I was too old.
