Saints open development centre in north Devon
Give it to Ron replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Nope in most...three of the best in my opinion are West Ham, Fulham and Brentford. Fulham under the leadership of Elias produce some great kids, they play very good football. Brentford are very well run and are lucky as they pick up kids released from Arsenal, Chelsea etc who are good but not quite ready but develop well away from the spotlight of those bigger sides full of foreign youngsters. -

They already do and have for years. Chelsea run academy close to here and send scouts to Tyro/Testway/CSYL games regularly. -

They already have the Bath one down that way - had a couple from Weston Super Mare in the academy recently -
Wrong we do and one is already attending England training camp and looks very good too.

I will take 30m for tapping him up anyday

What does it matter do you think a tiny club like ours can prove anything against the giants? Do you believe we don't do it?

Just as well you are not paying then....England international keeper if he played for us you would want what £9m?? -
Great win tonight what results do we need to get a home draw this week?

As I posted yesterday I think thats why this forum is a mare at the moment. Everyone(most anyway) is frustrated with lack of signings -yes we have signed 2 but if we havethe war chest we are supposed to have, the need is obvious where we need to recruit and we have 20 scouts after all why are we struggling to sign players? I don't buy this players won't come business - nearly all are mercenaries and will go where the money is an improvement, surely we can compete with most outside top 5? So is this down to our recruitment team, policy, committee? I understand transfers can take a while but Caulker would have been a big improvemnt IMO on Jos/Yoshida.
-
Also we need a Guly replacement but wonder if that will be either McQueen, Sharp, Mayuka - would love Ings but think that can be ruled out from reading Burnley. Personally would like Ings, Redmond, Caulker or Varr or both :-). My concern is that I hope Koeman doesnt get too ****ed of with the failure to deliver his targets.
-
No and I think that is the issue with several getting very tetchy on here - most agree we need about 4 to be as strong as last year ignoring the 2 or 3 that will step up. No sign of anyone decent arriving bar a few whispers that we should be patient - when you buy into this club patience is a virtue and tested to the endth degree.
-
So we are not linked with those players then? You are just inventing that we are only looking at pleyers from the Netherlands.....Koeman has been here 3 weeks - the club has signed 2 players he really wanted. We have a bid in for at least 4 others (Guan)I guess from what you and Charlie think they are all Dutch then.
-
So you are saying we dont have 20 scouts in different countries now just ones in the Netherlands because we have a Dutch manager.... Reed was lying nice one.
-
Does Koeman have multi nationality because in the last 2 weeks I have seen Greek, Iranian, Argentinian, English and Scottish still whatever floats your boat
-
The younger was was in the u14s last year - watched him a couple of times - decent bit lightweight but has promise.
-
Old Bagpuss did it from Sandbanks.....quite often saw him at Rownhams services

No it won't friendlies at this stage are all about fitness if you think the sides we put out at Swindon will have any bearing on the team against Liverpool then you are way off. Newcastle lost to Oldham....wow bet they are panicking....or not
-
Why does it bother you so much? Has our commercial revenue stopped us buying or selling anyone since Surman? I sometimes wonder what people can knock the club on next. All that matters surely is that the owners and manager are happy.
-
Good sup[port from Rimmington too - may have been too hasty last week :-)
-
They arrived just as Go West finished went into VIP. Didn't realise how big Boruc is until I stood next to him. Very friendly bunch.
-
He was walking pretty well yesterday at The Common with Clyne, Jos, Cork and Boruc who went into the eighties show. Stopped and had photos done and all seemed happy enough.
