  1. Maybe the difference is we don't have the Kolpak players playing???? .....plus Lumb and Adams are a great opening partnership. We really have to look at our recruitment..ok I accept we have been unlucky with Afridi and fitness like Kabir Ali but De Wet and Myburgh have just not done the business. Tahir bowled abysmally v Somerset....hope he can get some form soon.
  2. wooohoo 20 run victory well done Lumb and Adams awesome batting!
  3. Quality post and 100% agree.
  4. Me and my nippers footie team. I hope its better than that abysmal performance last night.
  5. Go to Marwell and get some lion **** and sprinkle round ...will scare the whole comminity of **** machines away!
  6. Apologies I didnt mean it to sound that bad....I may be a grumpy old git but only 53! It was 460 due to the pairing of Adult and Junior thats been removed plus the other rises. As View from the Top suggested ...and others are doing its a move to the Chapel and only a rise of £90 which is fine.
  7. Thank you for that I will see if we can move seats there.
  8. That is now the plan to join the Chapel lot. Trouble was I really liked where we were good crowd plenty of atmosphere and great view in block 34.
  9. Really oh thats ok then
  10. Mine went up 65%!!! Do you think thats OK then?? Adult and Junior last year £460 This year £705 a bit more than 20% wouldn't you say?
  11. Mine has gone up 65% Paid £460 last year Adult and Junior This year £705.
  12. I think we are one top player away from being a good side again and Afridid could be that man. We have some good youngsters in Vince, Briggs and Howell must of saved about 15 runs with his fielding last night. Dimi bowled superbly, Cork came back well after a bad first over - no point in a 6 -3 field if you bowl towards middle-leg! Wood took some stick but kept going and I thought Briggs bowled well with no luck. Having Lumb and Adams back as openers showed what we have beem missing - a great partnership and understand each other so well with the running. If Vince can get his head down he will be an England international(that and moving to Middlesex or Surrey ;-) Great win....bit puzzled by Corks outburst but good to see a captain defend his team I suppose.
  13. As is your Hoddle would keep us up and it was all the fans fault you have been spouting for the last 4 yours non stop! All pure speculation by you despite being shown evidence. Had Sturrock stayed 2 more games we would of stayed up...easy this isn't it.
  14. What division were we in under Sturrock?? look at Sturrocks points per game ratio ...had he stayed 2 more games blah blah blah People on here have given you the reasons time and time again. I have shown you proof about Hoddle on here time and time again yet you choose to ignore that! Here you are again! with compliments to Pat: http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/forum.topic.bythread.php?id_t=45569&piece=topic45569&id_categ=37 Club Member Posts: 3216 Joined: 13/08/2007 Glenn, Sam, and Rupert.. You may recall in the week running up to our great escape, I mentioned that I would be seeing Dave Hoddle(Glenn's uncle) and John Radford whilst I was in Bishops Stortford. We did meet up at the Bell in Stansted, although JR was only there for 20 mins or so, I did have a 2 hour conversation with Dave Hoddle. Inevitably the subject of Glenn, Rupert and Southampton came up. In the press there are stories of Rupert replacing NP with Glenn, or Sam Allardyce. So let's look at it, for what it's worth, thanks to Dave's input, I think we can dismiss both of these rumours. Rupert and Glenn are not so close as you would imagine.. 1..It still rankles Rupert the way Glenn left Southampton to join Spurs. 2..Glenn blames Lowe entirely, for the breakdown of his return here, prior to the Sturrock appointment. Yes, I know that fans resistance to Hoddle was blamed, and still is. But that's a myth, Rupert made the decision not to proceed, and since when has fan pressure influenced him? One or two directors voiced their nervousness of the appointment, but again since when did Lowe let that worry him? Rupert's decision was made entirely on a medical report, that still to this day, is very relevant to Glenn's ability to perform the day to day duties as team manager/coach. 3...Glenn Hoddle's only became aware that he hadn't got the appointment came when he saw the pictures of Sturrock on the pitch at SMS on TV. He immediately rang his agent to find out what was occurring, his agent then rang SFC to speak to Lowe. A row ensued, and Rupert was accused of betraying Glenn. He retorted that he (agent), and his client," were fine examples of loyalty considering the way he left in the first place" 4...Since then, the only contact that Glenn and Rupert has had, according to his uncle, have been at a couple of official functions. Both have been strained.
  15. Holy Rood - up the side of the road by NV. Opposite where the Nags Head used to be - haven't been there for a few years but food used to be very good.

  18. Too right I boo'd that bandy bald headed git Melia...welll he deserved it. I am baldist. That Chatterley was useless I am Lewist Perry Groves...Gingerist Rupert Lowe ...red cheekist Dave McLaren...ninegoalagainstist Sorry you are way off here IMO.
  19. Good read especially that last bit.....Liebherr Group are sponsoring my nippers team next season
  20. My favourite all time goal at The Dell. Happy Birthday Big Ron you gave me so many great memories as my schoolboy hero. Would be worth a fortune these days. Not often I cheered a goal against England but I remember you getting one in the Home internationals a great header ...of course... when England won 2-1.
  21. What and then have the managers know they were second choice - hardly going to set the right tone when you are in for a relegation scrap. Plus Grant then had a little run of results - do you think Gold wanted to pay compo and not get his number one choice? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/9364690.stm I wouldn't want Grant anywhere near my team - miserable looking git!
  22. Hahahaha kept faith with Grant.....because O'Neill turned them down in January...Grant expected to go he even waved goodbye to the fans after the home defeat.
  23. Anyone else using Microsoft Security Essentials? I was an AVG avid fan until the last version but have now switched to this.
  24. Agreed...we had no acceleration in the batting and without Dawson we would of been humiliated....well we were anyway but you get my drift. What was Ervine doing out there...he was apalling and needs dropping. The bowling...I didn't think we bowled too bad but didn't get any luck, the turning point was Jones he had O'Brien where he wanted him after hitting him on the hand and then bowled 2 wide balls short that allowed him to crack 2 fours and get back in it. We miss Adams, Lumb, Carberry and Pothas badly.
  25. I'm with you - yes I believe but why would I want to preach to people. Its their choice - I have my faith they have their own beliefs no way am I good enough to preach to them or try and convince them. I have seen the power of belief and faith thats good enough for me.
