After all these false hopes recently I am still concerned that the money will not appear. Just call it pessimistic but I am really worried this will fall through again. I think we all just want to here the news its a done deal...even though we know nothing about the Swiss or what their real intentions are for the club..we could all be turkeys voting for Christmas! But what choice do we have?
-
Quite possibly the fact the manager needs to get on with preparing a squad? Silly idea I know.
-
If and when they do...I will send you some. ;-) I just want them to do it soon!
-
according to our unofficial spokesperson on the UI, BBC sports dept know nothing about a completed deal yet.

I sat and watched that in horror at that callous bastards lack of remorse that made the agony twice as hard for the parents. May he rot in jail. As a parent of a daughter the same age I cannot describe the strength, dignity and courage her parents showed throughout the ordeal. I don't think I would of been able to control myself the way they did. A great job done by the police in both countries to bring justice to Hannah's family. Although nothing could bring her back at least they got the sick bastard that did the despicable acts to their daughter.

Anyone else running out of patience with Fry ?

I hadn't been in there for quite a few years...well since Fat Harry had it after he left the Four Horseshoes. There were 2 people in the garden and us at 8pm on a Saturday night...bit of a come down from when my old schoolmate Princey was a bouncer ...they need him again throwing them in! -

I would advise against the Red Lion...I nipped in there on Saturday night as my lad was bursting for a wee and needed their loo. It is one of the grottiest pubs I have been in for ages...the beer was awful. -
Sorry I got it wrong there has been 1.....at Rotherham. I knew I had read something about Bachelor. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/apr/09/sport.comment Most depressing to many Mansfield fans is that the football authorities are apparently powerless to act as one of the game's long-standing town clubs, formed in 1897, lurch into this unseemly stand-off. The Football League has a "fit and proper persons test" for football club directors and substantial shareholders but it does not bar from involvement people, such as Haslam, who have committed breaches of company law, or those with serial insolvency records, in and out of football, such as Batchelor. The disqualification applies to any person with unspent convictions for dishonesty, anyone who is bankrupt, and anyone who has run a football club into insolvency twice. John Nagle, the Football League's spokesman, explained: "In order to make the test meaningful and workable it has to be based on clear objective criteria rather than a subjective judgment of someone's suitability." Which means that if Haslam, or any other owner, is fed up or unpopular enough to sell to him, John Batchelor could have his hands on another football club tomorrow. Lifelong fan made loss but is not fit and proper The chairman of Rotherham United has become the first director of any English football club to be disqualified under the "fit and proper persons test". Denis Coleman took the Millers over in March 2006, and quickly cut its losses via a company voluntary arrangement. However, the club, whose former chairman, Ken Booth, owns the ground, still struggled, Coleman could not secure investment, and last month it went into administration. That constitutes a second "insolvency event" while Coleman has been on the board, so under the test he cannot be a football club director or 30% shareholder. "I am a lifelong fan," Coleman complained. "I took over because the club was in trouble. We had to do the CVA to save it. Being involved has cost me money, I have not had a penny out, unlike people at some other clubs, yet I am barred and they can be involved. That's ludicrous."
-
I cant see it posted anywhere but Andrew Pate Meridiskate said he had spoken with the Administrator and said the Swiss deal was very very close, awaiting clearance from the FA proper persons check - well as no-one has ever failed that think we can assume they will pass.
-
Not done DD yet...Fry in London talking to them today...havnt proved funds yet. Mentioned 12.5 m bid and behind Swiss/Overseas consortiums.
-
But the TV site says they are talking to the administrator....more coming up soon
-
Is this another game someone is playing to get the deal done by the consortium Fry was talking to? This looks very odd......especially with 2 coming back in the frame yesterday allegedly.
-
Its Gillico Holdings not Gillico Ltd.

With KD rumoured to be off to West Ham on Mondayas per SSN... Murty is exactly the sort we need to replace him as captain. Would be a great signing IMO.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1712801,00.html This is the sort of trialist we need...I have been mentioning him for ages..well since he was realeased.
-
Because there are probably a hundred strikers playing in better divisions than him that would come here for a trial. He is playing in leagues that are equivalent to Eastleigh....well perhaps we can ask then if any of them want a game after Saturday. Are we going to trial any Tom, **** or Ode that is free or cheap...we have to look at what they have been doing and who they have played for surely. We dont have time and resources to waste on players that have scored a whole 9 goals in 5 seasons in semi-pro football how hard is that to understand? I don't buy all this tosh about no-one wants to come here...we are a decent size club in this league compared to many and have far better facilities than many. Why not?
-
Well come on look at his record.....last season we had 7 loanees come in that used up valuable wages that got nowhere near the first team. Do we have time to **** about with trialists that have amassed 9 goals in 4 years? Sorry thought this was a football forum where we could discuss this sort of thing. The club are wonderful, all players coming in are great.....happy now?
-
Really....well have a look at the clubs he has played for.....better or worse than League One? Hardly prolific is he even in those **** leagues....I love the OS spin...he played for RSC Anderlecht yep 2000-2001 FFS.
-
"You've had more clubs than Tiger"
-
Not when you look at his scoring record!
-
Dayeo....Odeo..Ode comes and proves that he is worth it... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1712018,00.html

Did he have a pint glass with him??? Oldies will know the rumour!

Best Game at the Dell: Win, Draw or Lose

So many... Steve Mills Testimonial first time I saw Shearer wher Nicholl bloodied him and he got up and scored from the free kick. Ipswich at home early 80's we went 2 down - where that git Wark hung around our box where Waldron lay injured - Armstrong danced through their defence for the winner. Beating Chelsea 5-0 wher Hutchison and Hudson made their debuts for them. Fulham when Bestie got sent off and Marsh got the full treatment from the crowd.....so would of Angiie!!! -
Exactly right Papa BUT we didnt have any width at all in many of the games we had...mainly because AL prefers to drift inside. McG just sulked at asked to play there. At Blackpool we had a shocking performance from Morgan wide right and he was played there a couple of other times. We have very little options as it is...we lost McLaggon, Dyer was one of the only other actual wingers we had yet was out on loan. Jake was not ready for the jump IMO. Just to make it easier for DD to understand...no-one is expecting us to go and get absolute quality players to play for us but we can get in pacey wide wingers to help us out. Wotton, Gillett are not ball playing creative midfielders so we need to have outlets and width and a pattern to our play that was missing for most of last season.
