  1. Mine just arrived in the post - men with any sort of beer belly....enjoy!
  2. I had this exact debate (Argument!) with my Dad the other day. He voted remain but unfortunately reads the Daily Telegraph so swallows most of the anti-EU stuff as absolute fact. He was moaning about the French border police actually doing their job the other week, stamping passports etc and causing delays. It got really awkward when I told him we (the UK) insisted on this happening. He said that was nonsense, I then directed him to an article in the Telegraph that proved it. Didn't talk for 10 minutes and then changed the subject to Rwanda...
  3. Attend every single major sporting event for the next 4-6 years, then pick and choose all the good ones depending on location (USA Rugby World Cup for example) Sort out paying off mortgages for my cousins and family. Buy a nice place in the Cotswolds with decent security, donate to charity, probably pay Gloucester Rugby's player salaries for the next 5 years. Pump a load of money in to my local area, with a specific focus on sports fields and facilities. Spend a load of time travelling and seeing as much of the world as I could. With the aim to leave £25m to my daughter to inherit.
  4. I seem to remember us agreeing a fee for Defoe when he was at West Ham, only for him to sign for Spurs? Must have been 2003/04. I will see your Rivaldo to Bolton and raise you Zidane to Blackburn...as then Chairman said "Why do we want to sign Zidane when we have Tim Sherwood!"
  5. JWP is a Milner type player. He will be consistent, he will stay fit, he can take instruction and learn. I noticed when he was playing against Italy the other week that there was a lot of whining on Twitter about him playing sideways or backwards. But he also played some cracking balls forwards and linked up play nicely. He is a very good player for us and would improve surrounded by the stars of City or Liverpool. He would also get way more opportunities on free kicks at a bigger club. All that being said, I think the price being touted should hopefully ward off any interest this summer.
  6. For those who are travelling to FGR, not that I am expecting a big crowd, it is literally on top of a hill in the Cotswolds off a single lane road! There is parking at the ground and a school next door that offers additional parking too. They are a fantastic football club with a great family feel. You will no doubt no they are fully Vegan and are very committed to this and the environment as a whole. The aim is that by 2026 their new ground will be built by the M5 (Jct 13) and built entirely out of wood.
  7. Saints u21's have been drawn in Group F with Forest Green, Newport and Exeter City. Very very close to being in P*mpey's group which would have been "interesting". Great for me as a Gloucester based Saints supporter. Forest Green is my closest Football League club and Newport is a 35-40 min train away. Always a good evening watching the stars of the future.
  8. What is the correct pronunciation?
  9. They both should go now of course, but this Conservative government and wider parliamentary party are as spineless as any I have ever seen. The wider party will need an electoral reason to get rid of him and if the opposition parties can hammer the point hard enough over the next three weeks, the local elections might just be that opportunity. Any new leader will then have two years to sort this out, most likely with the benefit of a recovering economy and the option to bring in a new Chancellor and reverse some of the tax rises Sunak has brought in (I personally don't think the tax rises are inherently wrong, we have to pay for the last two years somehow - just the timing, but he certainly hasn't helped himself with the Tax situation of his wife and even his own) In terms of replacements, I haven't got a clue. There aren't any immediate front runners that spring to mind, but if Sunak is being taken down too it may actually help the situation. Liz Truss is apparently in with a shout (I can't understand why), but I have repeatedly seen support for Penny Mordaunt too.

    Russia

Probably already mentioned but it is really really unfortunate that Le Tiss has fully gone nuts with his conspiracy theory bullshit. Now seemingly suggesting that Bucha is faked (as per the Russian propaganda). Putin will probably 'get away' with it, as he will likely never be brought in front of a War Crimes tribunal at the Hague - however there are increasing rumours that his health is not good. As Chaplin says in the Great Dictator - all dictators die.
  11. Haha. Rarely get this animated when it comes to football. Just had enough of lads on my social media timeline who are Chelsea fans whining about how ‘unfair’ it all was. Most if not all were glory supporters who had no connection to Chelsea (no Dad or Grandad supported them etc) and some were even Newcastle/Blackburn/Leeds supporters until 2004/5. Maybe took it a little too far though. Agreed 😉
  12. Obviously this does impact Saints due to the issue with potentially signing Broja, however more generally F*CK CHELSEA, F*CK THEIR FANS AND F*CK ABRAHMOVIC, JOHN TERRY, FRANK LAMPARD AND ALL THE OTHER C*NTS WHO HAVE JUMPED ON THEIR GLORY SUPPORTING BANDWAGON OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS! OFF YOU ALL POP BACK TO MID-TABLE MEDIOCRITY.

    Russia

A quick google of the ex US Colonel finds that he has been supportive of the Russian annexation of Crimea and suggested that the Luhansk and Donetsk regions should also be annexed as they were basically Russian.... I wonder what Kompromat they have on him?!

    Russia

We are now getting close to the end game. I can't see the rationale for invasion as the negatives for Russia and more specifically Putin far outweigh the positives. Ukraine will fight tooth and nail and there will be a armed and organised resistance to Russian forces which will make the losses in Afghanistan look small. Putin (I think) is trying to scare the sh*t out of his liberal opponents while trying to firm up his support from Russian Ultra-Nationalists. If he can get some sort of declaration that the Ukraine won't entertain a NATO application for say 20 years, I think it will all calm down (for now). But then expect massive aid and assistance from the EU and the West to support Ukraine as a way to limit any future Russian political interference.
  15. Assume you mean collapsing? https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/fans-medical-emergeny-stadiums-fulham-b2004017.html Nothing to do with Covid or Vaccinations - rather the reaction to a medical emergency at sporting events has dramatically changed in the last 10 years.
  16. You have answered your own question - age profile, injuries and wages.
  17. If Newcastle don't get relegated this season then I can see them spending a lot of money in the next three windows and probably be challenging top 6 or even top 4 by the end of the 2023/24 season. Relegation will only delay this for a couple of years.
  18. I doubt Brexit is at the forefront of their minds, rather the increasingly dawning reality that despite the obvious short-comings of the Labour Party and their front bench, they may be heading towards a perfect storm of a collapse of trust in the Conservatives (or at least their leaders), a massive squeeze of incomes and cost of living, a demographic change and general apathy and resentment to any party in power for over a decade. On current trends I can quite easily see a Labour majority hung parliament with SNP support. My gut is that they probably have one chance to get rid of Boris and allow Rishi*, who I would suggest is generally scene as capable, intelligent and not a total knob by the General public, to get an opportunity to do some stuff that might keep the wolves at bay for another election. *Rishi may still be utterly dreadful despite his quite sensible football affiliation - most commentators thought Brown and May would be capable PM's.
  19. David Davis stuck the knife in. Although I am not a fan of Davis, he has always been seen as a principled man and someone who has deep connections within the party. This combined with one of the Red Wall 2019 MP's crossing the floor suggests at best total chaos, at worst (at least for Boris) the end is nigh!
  20. Still no news on tickets yet.
  21. Cheltenham is my local league team (along with Forest Green). I will keep an eye out and see if I can get down to watch a game if he is playing. Always think back to the video where he got given a 'First touch improvement' present for Christmas...never a great sign.
  22. As someone who voted Conservative at every election from 2002 until the last two (European and GE in 2019 - and then voted Lib Dems as I wasn't voting for Corbyn's Labour policies) I believe the best thing for the country right now would be a strong, centrist opposition with a charismatic leader and clear policies. We currently have a weak sort of centrist opposition who have been unable to form any sort of policy, led by someone who is just a bit 'meh'. He should have the balls to tell the Momentum, Corbynistas to fuck off with their Sixth Form Policy debates (£15 per hour minimum wage; Who can have a cervix etc) and actually understand that the only way to get rid of the current clowns is to actually be a realistic government in waiting (like Blair in 1997). The £15 per hour min. wage is so unbelievably bonkers that even people who I know are full on supporters of Corbyn have said they think its lunacy. I have one former school mate who tried to argue that it would mean no-one would have to be on benefits etc - I then had to explain what inflation was and how this would only lead to increased automation and a sudden jump in unemployment; which if you get rid of benefits means people are even more fucked than before.
  23. Went along with my 9 year old daughter yesterday (we live in Gloucester, so it was only 20 mins up the road). Really impressed by the quality of play by Saints. Cheltenham were very direct and caught Saints out on the break. Poor positioning from the GK for the first goal and partially at fault for the second too. The number 8 (Williams) for Saints was outstanding and controlled the game. Didn't create a huge amount in the first half but dominated, second half was one way traffic apart from the freekick and consolation goal at the end. Could have been another 3 or 4 for Saints to be honest. Really enjoyable and my Daughter loved talking to some of the players at the end of the game too.
  24. Difficult to judge as it’s age group but that is an impressive performance
