If we're serious about promotion we need to win at least four, two points per game has to be the target, expecting more than that will just lead to dissapointment when in fact we've actually done very well. The Valley is a hard place to go, D&R will be another culture shock and Oldham on a Tuesday won't be much fun for the players - would be a massive achievement to win two of those.

Charlton Weather Watch/Build Up - game called off! (Dejavu?)
Andy_Porter replied to Nexstar's topic in The Saints
I gave up on Charlton the minute Walsall was called off. Hopefully Daggers will be ok but again I'm not exactly positive. At least with those two a Tuesday night trip will be easy enough. -
Would rather not take Nile Ranger back.

If you want a ticket it's always worth applying even if you aren't a season ticket holder.

Chamberlain to Arsenal or Liverpool £10m

I don't see why everyone see's the need to compare him to Theo anyway, he's just another young player coming through. -
and shout pork really loudly. How cool.

Newcastle or Blackpool I'd assume.

Probably because he's one of the most over-rated keepers going, very similar to Davis as he's a fantastic shot-stopper but doesn't do much else. -
Stockport is irrelevant was during the transition period. Wycombe was crap but Tranmere we actually played well, the referee ruined the contest, I was as ****ed of as anyone driving back from Tranmere after losing there but it was such a travesty.

Gillingham was a dead rubber tbf, we would have battered them if it meant anything.

We had an amazing second half to the season, the problem was so many other teams did as well. There was a run of three away draws and the odd dodgy loss but really it was as good as expected, 2.1ppg I think, brilliant form.

Yeah a few at the start. Rasiak was the biggest fee iirc. -
I'm sure Fonte and Lambert would be chuffed if we turned down a decent offer out of 'spite', they must love playing in the third tier rather than in the Premier league.
-
It really is ridiculous. IF we don't make the play offs I'm certain it will be because Adkins didn't have a pre season with the players and we basically lost a month with Wilkins in charge. The last thing we should do is get rid of another manager and end up with the same excuses this time next year when we're ****ing around in mid table losing to absolute **** like Brentford.

Got my tickets. Hopefully this one will go ahead.

Have you looked at flights to Exeter?

Is there a period of the season where we traditionally do well?

Walsall Weather Watch / Build-up Thread - Game called off!
Andy_Porter replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Looks like another postponed fixture. Seriously annoying. -
Lets hope its his last job in English management, I can't stand his style of football, it's horrible.
-
We had three games for £7.50 I think FA rules only permit you to five cut price games a season. I think Cortese is doing the ticket pricing well so far.
-
In January Newcastle can bypass the chairman, that's the problem. Say 1st of Jan Asley faxes through an offer for Adam -250k, Cortese rejects offer straight away. Ashley leaks the offer to the press and Lallana's agent. Lallana decides he's bored of the third division and signs pre contract with Newcastle and joins them in the summe. We go to a tribunial and get a fraction of what he's actually worth after we've paid Bournemouth there share.
-
**** sake. Will be a bit of a mental run of away games in the new year if this does get postponed.
-
Just hope Pardew doesn't make an offer for Lallana. Would be just like Ashley to make a derisory offer to try and turn his head.

Agreed, Hammond had a decent enough game, there where far worse on the pitch yesterday. The only criticsim I have of Hammond is the same with Schneiderlin, neither do enough in both boxes. We need one of them to sit and the other attack and switch around during the game, as it is they both just sit and are far too happy to go sideways, we need a bit of dynamic play through the middle when playing 4-4-2.

I was talking about the problems with our lack of squad depth, we loaned out one of our best attacking midfielders knowing that Barnard needed an op while Holmes and Connolly where unreliable at best... You must be one of these fans who thinks everything will just magically get better and next week Lambert will get a hat-trick and be back to his first season form - simply won't happen, there are some deep routed problems within our squad. Too one dimensional, not enough pace and a massive lack of options after our best 14 players. This current squad is worse than the one that finished last season and that's not even taking into account the nose dive in form from Lambert and Jaidi. Loaning Puncheon and not replacing him was a huge mistake and unfortunately I think we will suffer for it over the next month or two.
