I think in his case a lot of it's mental problems. I don't think Holmes is good enough for a team with aspirations of winning this league anyway, hopefully the injury will force Cortese's hand and we will bring in a winger of real quality in January.

Of course he wouldn't. Thinking back someone like Chaplow probably would have been the signing that could have made the difference last season. We really missed Scheniderlin and Hammond when they where injured/suspended. As much as James and Wotton tried they couldn't give the same sort of performances the first choice pair where putting in every week. Shame.

We have to do everything within powers to keep him at the club. I also think it's about time we gave him some responsibilty and told him to sit infront of the defence and be our defensive midfielder, then play Hammond or Chaplow ahead of him. Fantastic player, as good with the ball at his feet as anyone we've had at the club for a long time.

4/10. I had very high hopes going into the season and we haven't delivered. Anything less than promotion will be seen as a terrible season, I am still confident we can turn it around although I have a worry there is just something not write in the camp at the moment, I've no idea what I just think there seems to be some sort of divide.

How do you work that out? He was shooting as much as anyone before he left, it's not like his attitude meant he was hitting it wide or at the goal keeper, he was just out of form. There was no lack of effort, even when playing badly he was putting in a shift. Very unfair on him to suggest otherwise.

Exactly, we don't have any players in midfield that can play the killer pass that leads to an assist, or in fact any real creative players.

Spot on mate, Jaime Redknapp recently said on Sky Sports that we should be building the team around Wilshere, now I've no doubt he's a quality player and one day we might be building the team around him but now? it's ridiculous to even think it. I know so many people who don't know the first thing about football but seem to think England should be winning everything becaue watch Sky every weekend and listen to TalkSport and believe all the ****e about Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney etc. Ferdinand was probably the only Englishman that would get into that French side, the other 10 would struggle to get into the squad.

Same as going Friday morning, getting home Sunday evening. Staying in the Albatross hostel, have managed to do it fairly cheap so far £47 each for the hostel, £70 for the flight and looks like 7.50 return on the train to get to and from Hartlepool.

He can drop as many hints as he likes, I'm just worried we won't have the squad depth untill that happens. Losing Puncheon is a massive blow.

How difficult is it to get from Newcastle to Hartlepool? I assume it's just a short train journey but haven't really looked into it.
