What a suprise It's MLG pointing out the obvious. Lallana plays the majority of the game from the left, and Puncheon/Chambleron from the right, I go the vast majority of games and don't need someone pointing out how we play. Thank you.
-
We're so screwed, quite looking forward to a third year in league one anyway. Comparing Holmes and Puncheon is silly anyway, there's no way Holmes could play from the right, he's all about his crossing so he has to play on the left which would mean Lallana getting played on the right, we would lose a massive goal threat. Still can't see any logic in this loan unless it's to free up fund for another player in? Maybe money is a lot tighter than some like to think, maybe we're not the 'man city' of league one?
-
Because we where winning last season playing 4-5-1.
-
100% agree, evem an out of form Puncheon was still working hard at both ends, wanting the bal and still trying to make things happen. We only need a silly red card or an unfortunate injury and we're in all sorts of trouble. Lallana would have to move to the right as there's no way Dickson or Holmes could play out there and I feel Lallana is wasted on the right... It's unfortunate, but I think a few of our players were just playing for Pardew, Puncheon, Lambert and Schneiderlin all spring to mind, I wouldn't be suprised to see the other two shipped on in the January window, then you have to start worrying about Lallana, he's obviously not going to want to stick around in this league if we aren't looking like a side who will go up automatically.
-
Of course they knew about him, it's not like he's come from no where. The problem was starting with Ferriera at centre back, he's bad enough at right back, then playing him on the right of the two centre backs meant Ivanovic was all over the place... the whole defence was screwed.

What is that?!

Shame it all went to ****e afterwards. That and JPS's double agaisnt Watford are the only positives I can really remember from that season.
-
I don't think that's really a contradiction, Soutend away, Bristol Rovers and Walsall at home where the only really stand out games where we dominated possesion, took our chances and came away winners. There where far more games liek Carlisle at Wembley, MK away, Walsall away, Bristol away this season etc where we scored loads without really dominating the ball possesion because we simply had far better players.
-
They where terrible, their centre forward looked like he had just been on the ****, he was so far off the pace. Agree that we never really put in dominant performances, apart from a handfull of games we didn't dominate many games last season either, we played poorly and still managed to win comfortbly.

Totally different situation. Pardew done a fantastic job rebuilding last season, you can dislike him or his style of football but the way he changed the club and team around fron Huddersfield, Swindon, Stockport etc early doors was superb. It's a shame there was some friction between him and Cortese as it's destabalised us somewhat. Still confident that Adkins will get us promoted (hopefully twice) the odd poor result will obviously happen with any manager, it's how we react on Saturday that will be telling.

You've just discribed a 4-5-1. Wingers tracking back is the difference between a 4-5-1 and a 4-3-3, Sky try and brainwash everyone into thinking every 4-5-1 is really three up front to make dull matches appear more interesting. A 4-3-3 is the formation Barca play or have played recently, one out and out striker and two very narrow wide players.
-
We battered Tranmere, I really though that was a sign of things to come. It seems they where just a terrible side. Yes, obviously I would rather see us lose every week. The whole playing good football under the Dutch clowns was a myth as well, there was the odd game where we played some nice stuff but the majority of it was just embarassing five yard backwards passes, no real width, penetration or even any real strikers. It was crap.

Agreed, it's mental that he's still playing for the under 18's. -

I'd like to see us start Lallana and and Dickson outwide with Guly and Barnard up top. We're putting too much pressure on AOC. -
Spot on mate, people won't like to hear it but we really haven't been playing well.

We lost a game... did you really expect us to win or draw every game from now until May? You're either on the wind up or a complete clown. -

Any reason why Seaborne didn't start? Been one of our best players under Adkins imo. -
Or games at any point during the week other than Saturday at three o'clock. The Premiership was **** as a fan, the last couple of years where before our PL relegation where probably the most dull times I've had supporting saints.
-
We will not move stadiums. We will not expand St Marys. Will be a long time before we're even close to getting 30,000+ everyweek when expansion would be even close to a possibility. I've really no idea why this keeps being brought up on here, it's ridiculous.

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011

Same here, I think I'll probably still go as a mate wants someone to go with. Listening to Mike Osman trying to be funny for a couple of hours won't really be pleasant. -
Taking a full allocation would be impressive, will get my tickets tomorrow.
