  1. Having a game postponed is hardly going to help us shoot up the league in the short term
  2. I've said for a while need to trust Schneiderlin to do the holding role on his own and just sit and play a more attacking partner, Chaplow would be perfect. Our best team IMO would involve Schneiderlin sitting, Chaplow box to box and then Guly in the hole, slightly harsh on Hammond who has improved a lot under Adkins but that would be my team setup. Playing two midfielders who neither attack nor defend seems pointless, the inclusion of Chaplow was a massive boost to the squad, now give him more lisence to get forward and get Schneiderlin holding.
  3. Shame, although a very sensible decision to do it now before anyone would have travelled. For once logic comes first in football
  4. To be fair that seems like the stock answer anyone gives when it's snowing!
  5. Good old Daily Mail. Would love to see Xavi win it, he deserves it.
  6. http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/11/30/barcelona-5-0-real-madrid-tactics/ Good write up of the game, didn't notice all of the little things they pick up on but a very good read.
  7. We beat them last year on a Tuesday evening in November.
  8. Arranged a weekend in London for MK game at the start of the season - game postponed. Arranged a weekend in Newcastle for the Hartlepool game - looks like the game will be postponed. Should still be a good weekend in Newcastle even if the football is called off, our backup plan of going to watch some Cage Fighting is also down the pan as that was cancelled today because of the weather. I am worried we might not even be able to fly because of the weather.
  9. Was there really any reason to post this other than have a pre-emptive moan yourself? you must be right.
  10. Was obvious it would be a ballot, good to see they've done an application form. Makes sense.
  11. I will be going, think it's my fifth trip to the Valley. Charlton away is always good, hope we can take a decent allocation.
  12. Xavi with a league record 110 completed passes and he got subbed. What a player.
  13. I reckon it will be a case of having to write a letter like Brighton and Exeter last season.
  14. http://atdhe.net/29594/watch-fc-barcelona-vs-real-madrid decent stream if anyone wants
  15. Ronaldo, mainly for his heading ability and free kicks. The other Ronaldo is the best footballer i've seen in my time.
  16. Barcelona: Valdes, Dani Alves, Abidal, Pique, Puyol, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi, Villa. Real Madrid: Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Carvalho, Pepe, Khedira, Xabi Alonso, Ozil, Di Maria, Ronaldo, Benzema. It's not often you see that much talent in one game.
  17. Went to see Ellie Goulding and Paul Smith recently, both where good although could tell Ellie was getting towards the end of her tour. Got tickets for Metronomy and Example in the new year.
  18. True, guess there will be a fair few going up that way.
  19. Especially considering we could get United, Arsenal etc away in the next round and probably make the best part of 1.5m from a game.
  20. Agreed, not a chance it will sell out. I doubt many people will drive if the weather is still this bad up there, would leave the hardcore few who do drive, the northern saints and anyone who's flown. It's going to be freezing.
  21. If it happens, it happens. I see the point you're making but on the other side of the coin we could play a full strength team Lambert could get a hat-trick which kicks him back into the form we know he's capable of. If someone is carrying a knock leave them out, otherwise it should be our best eleven. I doubt Lallana would be happy to sit in the stands rather than get a chance to test himself against PL opposition.
  22. Obviously that's the only reason someone would start or post in this thread ... Every thread on here gets turned into a big negative **** fest within about 15 posts these days.
  23. Going up with four others for three days.
  24. Mourinho sides never lose heavily. He's amazing at making these big away games into boring 0-0's/
