  1. I'm going to be refreshing all day tomorrow in the hope Danns signs, I hope my boss doesn't expect much work to be done...
  2. Agree with your side TDD. I'd maybe put James in for Murty, Murty is the better defender and offers alot of experience but James offers a lot more going forward and despite what some people think he's dead balls are decent. RB is probably the one position we need to really strengthen in the summer. We should stay with 4-5-1 and use the 4-4-2 for the last 20 mins when teams are getting tired. We used are gameplan to great effect like that against Orient and Oldham, we should never have stopped playing 4-5-1, hopefully now Puncheon is here we will go back to it more often. Wouldn't mind seeing us play a 4-4-2 with Lallana in the centre of midfield when we're chasing a game, I don't think Pardew would ever try that though.
  3. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just well it's common place in football.
  4. Spot on, we should either be playing with Lallana in behind Lambert or Waigo and Lambert together while Connolly is injured. I'd go with Waigo personally, pace seems to destroy teams in this league.
  5. Pardew probably just said that we where finished with transfers to show Palace we wheren't desperate. Plenty of managers do similar things with the media.
  6. If we signed him then we'd have everything, would be really disappointing to build up such a great squad and not manage to win promotion. Glad to see we're looking at this sort of player even if it doesn't come off.
  7. I'd like both the wide men to stay wide, then once one of the two wingers pick up the ball the other one gets into the box. Then we'd have Lambert in the box and Lallana and one other getting into the box late. I think when we've had problems scoring this season it's been a lack of pace in the side and not enough people getting into the box. Can't really comment on how Puncheon will play, I just hope he's direct.
  8. More power and pace in the wide areas. Just hope we play to our strengths now we have Puncheon. Puncheon on the left, Waigo or Antonio on the right with them both playing very wide with Schneiderlin looking for the out ball whenever he picks it up. If we set up like that and get the ball into the box Lambert, Lallana etc will score for fun in this league.
  9. I've been impressed with him since he came in to the team, it's a real shame for him he's got such dodgy knee. I can't see him getting much game time now Puncheon has signed. Probably get a bit of game time during the cup games but surely Puncheon will be first choice when available.
  10. I don't really rate Murty and I don't think we should be relying on someone with his injuries as first choice. Same with Holmes, you're always expecting an injury.
  11. Fonte is just a class above. He's better than anyone in our squad and there isn't a defender in the league I'd swap him for. From what I've seen of Barnard he just runs, don't really see what he offers that Paterson couldn't. Hopefully he just needs time to find his feet. Hasn't really looked dangerous but he causes panic when he chases down defenders. Seaborne is a bit of a rough diamond, works well with Fonte and looks to be a leader. I'd rather play Jaidi with Fonte but I understand the logic in playing Seaborne and Fonte together. Otsemebor hasn't really done much to impress me yet, I'd much rather have Lloyd James or Wayne Thomas at right back, Otsemebor to me looks far too lightweight and I don't really think his pace makes up for that.
  12. ------------- Kelv James - Fonte © - Jaidi - Harding ---- Hammond - Schneiderlin Waigo ----- Lallana ----- Puncheon ----------- Lambert Subs: Bart, Ostemebor, Seaborne, Antonio, Connolly, Barnard and Wotton. A bit harsh on Connolly, Ostemebor and Antonio but I think that's our strongest XI. If we could get a central midfielder like Danns or Stock in there for Hammond and a more solid right back in then we'd have a team ready for the Championship imo.
  13. Because he's been **** all season?
  14. We haven't played well since Wallsall apart from the second 45 against Ipswich. I said before the Milwall game if we don't get 9 from the next three we can wave goodbye to our play off chances, we're on course for 5 from three which is no way good enough. I'm confident of our chances next season but we need to learn how to beat teams like Millwall and Brentford.
  15. Then you'll get a ticket... They are probably just doing the first letters now not all at once. I took my letter in ages ago.
  16. I'm sure you'll get your tickets if you wrote a letter
  17. Nah sorry mate, need all four.
  18. Hahahaha Lloyd James and Dean Hammond quicker than Jake Thomson? You're having a laugh surely?
  19. Slow.....? I'm not sure he's good enough for us either but to call him slow is ridiculous. He's not Waigo or Antonio quick but he's a step above any one else in the squad in terms of pace.
  20. Got £80 taken out of my account so I assume I've got my four terrace tickets.
  21. I doubt it. There probably aren't any left now.
  22. Might get a bit confusing if Wotton's playing as well.
  23. This whole best team arguement is very old fashioned. Alex Ferguson hasn't named the same side for over 100 games, it's all about picking the best player for the game at hand. Do agree that the squad is far too big but on the other hand, we aren't going to be able to sell Molyneux, Pulis or Forecast amongst others and there's no point giving away players like Gillett, Gobern, Holmes, Thomson etc for peanuts they might be needed at some point. The problem with our midfield is that when we play 4-4-2 we bypass it completely and they don't get a look in...
  24. Will either be in the standing order or if it's closed then I'll start in Portswood.
  25. Left sided player makes more sense, not sure who's the better player from the two but we've been crying out for a left sided player for ages.
