  1. I wasn't really impressed with Thomas at Stockport, he gets down the line well enough but his crossing isn't really up to scratch. Maybe Thomas with James in front is worth a try.
  2. Just started a game with Southampton, played a few seasons with Villa with mixed success to get used to the new game. I'm playing a pretty basic 4-4-2 with a defensive midfielder and central midfielder set to defend. Two proper wingers, Lambert as a deep lying forward and Saga on the advanced strikers. Signed Kuffor, van der Meyde and Topp on free transfers. Got De Laet and Hoyte on loan to shore up the defence and signed Gillbert, Smith and Tommassi for about a million. After 13 games I'm 11th, my only loss was on the first day. Since then I've won eight and drawn four, scoring 31 and only conceeding 13. Best GD in the league by miles and would be top by 2 points. Anyone got any ideas who I can bring in on loan in January to cover for Saganowski and Lambert? I signed Willy Topp but he done his ACL on his debut and hes out for 9 months.
  3. I think we need a full back who can get up the line and cross, we play pretty simple football but it really does involve the full backs supporting the winger and getting the ball into the box. Thomas could probably do a job, I'd still prefer James there though with Waigo infront of him. If Waigo puts in a shift and doesn't leave James exposed it spouldn't be a problem.
  4. As well as Murty out, that's when Pardew starts to earn his money. Don't think it would be a huge problem against the majority of teams in this league but we just happen to be playing the best two teams after Tranmere. Wouldn't like to go into either of those games with Jaidi and Hammond, no so fussed about James and Harding but the other two are vital.
  5. Who are the players on 4 cards? Jaidi, James, Harding and ?
  6. He's a right back.
  7. Played there pre-season against Bournemouth and he was pretty poor.
  8. I'm sure the usual suspects on here will moan about Lloyd James covering him at right back but I'm sure he can do a good job in Murtys absense. Such a shame for Murty and I agree we should be looking to sign a new right back in January.
  9. You do realise we would lose playing that side?
  10. Fantastic news, great to hear she may well be home for Christmas.
  11. There was a fair bit of trouble against Milwall in August. Doubt anything will kick off unless you're looking for trouble but still best to be carefull.
  12. The youth team would lose. Wouldn't mind seeing Hammond and Lambert given a rest with Waigo and Connolly together upfront and James and Schneiderlin together in the middle.
  13. Wouldn't be suprised to see Charlton drop out of the top 6 all together, especially if Shelvey goes in January. Can't see them scoring enough goals to stay towards the top. Norwich, Huddersfield and Leeds all alot better than Charlton from what i've seen.
  14. Really bored so i'll give this a bash, I'll probably miss out something obvious and come back and edit this later. Best league game? - Southampton 3 - 2 Arsenal. Last game at the Dell. 15. Think that sums your post up.
  16. Didn't realise they had a new ground. Looks pretty decent for a new League one ground. Driving up and staying the night before with a friend in Essex, don't think there is much of a train service since it's the first working day after xmas.
  17. Hope so, taking over 2k to Leeds so close to Christmas would be a fantastic effort.
  18. He likes a bit of powder. It's like the worst kept secret ever.
  19. If we get to the final no one will have a problem getting tickets. The allocation will probably be around 35k for a Sunday morning and in all honestly we'd be pushing it to sell that many. Our last proper big away game was derby in the play offs and there where still tickets available for that the day before.
  20. Yes, if we had won all our games I'd say we had the best team in the league and couldn't improve it with League one players. Even since we signed Waigo/Jaidi and turned our season around we've had a few dodgy performances. I'm not being negative it's just how I see it, we can and should improve in January. We're playing great and doing well but shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. Plenty of players we can get who would improve our team Simeone Jackson and Barnard from Southend would be a good start and then a centre back and we'd be set.
  21. What a bizzare thing to say, there are plenty of very good players in League One already. We aren't anything special, just a good league one side not like we're streets ahead of everyone. Someone like Simeon Jackson would jump at the chance of joining us and be immense coming off the bench or playing place of Connolly. We just need to find a centre half and defensive midfielder like that and we're set. I wouldn't be suprised to see a few players from the bottom half of the Championship interested in joining us.
  22. Probably true. I doubt he'd be willing to be our second choice either.
  23. Probably the most enjoyment i've had following Saints in a long time. Didn't really look forward to football last season, this years all change loving it at the moment hope it continues. It's not just the winning either, we're playing attractive football and creating a lot of chances. Totally different to the aimless tippy tappy ****e we played last year that was supposedly pretty to watch.
  24. Cheers
  25. Creative promotion is the way forward. They made a decent start with the family tickets but they could do a lot more. If you buy a ST or membership before a certain date and we're promoted next years ST or membership is half price. Every five tickets a member buys he gets to bring a friend for free. Give ST holders a free ticket to bring a friend. Give ST holders free travel for one away game. Kids for a quid in the family centre. I know not everyone likes familys at football but Norwich have basically got 20k everyweek because they really do everything they can for kids, if we had the same sort of attitude and filled the family section everyweek that would be a help a lot.
