looking at the bbc article he is basically saying about him being in his last year of his contract the players wont play as well as if he had a nice bumper 3 year deal. WTF. Seems to me he is telling Spurs to pay him nice or feck him off...I'll go for the latter.

Same with La Liga...not sure why but most clips i see of his goals are defenders diving in at him. As Chelsea showed twice, stand up to him and don't dive in and he isnt that effective at all. I guess thats an art in itself this defending lark. Makes great entertainment though these poor defences

Well loans are good for getting younger players experience. It's a risk bit at the end of the day if he flops we can just give him back. If he excels then we get the best of him for a season. Thought I read he turned down a hefty wedge at the hammers. Wouldn't come cheap in a weekly wage sense but no transfer fee would cover that. Bolton used to do that well back when they had okocha etc....no transfer fee but highish wages. Green would be a decent signing makes a few errors but tell me one keeper that doesn't. We must have a decent transfer fund, 7m on an striker who hasn't played top flight football is a hell of a risk if its a large potion of the fund. Yeah we know he is decent in the championship, but if he flops its a large amount of money to be invested on one position if other postions need strengthening too.
