Suitably well attired though, most of them were wearing Addidas Chilies, Kenzo Jeans and Hugo Boss Polos.

Aside from the obviously serious stuff, what gets me is all the macho posturing ********. Blokes stood thirty or forty yards apart with their arms stretched out giving it the 'come on then' ********. If they are going to fight, get on with it, but most of these fags get off on the ****ty kudos then jizz onto each other after these encounters. Same as those bell ends at Pride Park a few years back, stood behind a line of police and stewards offering Saints fans a fight; pretty much the same as going to the zoo and taunting the lions with threats of impending face-smashery.

Getting either of the poles off the wage bill would make it a fantastic day IMHO

I stopped reading when I realised who had posted this. You. Are. A. Dork.

I read some stuff on that forum and it reminded me of Bennett's debut for us against palace. Some ridiculous and over the top comments, especially when you consider that it was not only his debut for them but his professional league debut. I have only seen him once for the reserves but he seemed pretty decent to me, hopefully he will come back a better keeper. We are really well stocked at the minute with Kelvin plus three keepers who, IMHO, all have a shout at the number thirteen shirt.

Where is this crime free utopia which you inhabit? I must move there!

Any idea what formation we are playing today? Is Paterson up front or on the wing again?

Political correctness gone mad.

There will almost certainly be more than 18 people there.

These sorts of decisions are entirely separate. If there are doubts about his conviction then the appeal process should have been the way out. You shouldn't add a terminal illness to question marks over the conviction to decide on a compassion based release.

You're such an e-martyr. Well done you.

What absolute ********. It is as simple as eleven blokes against eleven blokes on the night, and the point Stevo was making (if I may) is that Pardew's reluctance to change anything despite trailing the game for well over an hour and creating bugger all chances was, to say the least, very strange. Stop trying to make every last bloody thing about Rupert sodding Lowe, he has been gone for months. His aura may still be giving you bad vibes but quite how that translates into the current managers handling of the tactics is beyond me (and I am a clever bastard).

+1. It is all very well getting behind the club, nobody is doing otherwise. I am not, for a second, suggesting we get rid of him but that doesn't mean we cannot discuss how he is getting on. And last night he was terrible. How can you be one down for as long as we were without changing something? How can you play one up front for so long without it working? So long in fact that the one striker ends up coming deep for the ball all the time and you end up one nil down and playing a 4-6-0 formation. Obviously I don't want him gone, or anything like that. It is just frustrating watching your team struggle with little or nothing happening on the sidelines.

And I'll be glad when you and the rest of the gang admit that things are not going as well as you had all hoped and get Steps back together.

Just because you can start threads, doesn't mean you have to. If everybody starts threads with their opinion on the first eleven the forum will be overrun. Your opinions are largely wrong. The day after the second game of the season which you didn't attend is not the time for you to be enlightening us with your rubbish views. I think that sums it up. Mods, feel free to lock the thread.

Not at all, I am amazed that it stayed level for so long. We certainly didn't deserve it, Thomson and Mellis were no less effective than those they replaced. Absolute nonsense, if he is good enough, he is old enough. Aside from a relegation battle being inevitable I completely agree. Said to the Mrs on the way out that it was one of the worst performances I have seen, and I have been some complete ****e. We were absolutely woeful, only Kelvin comes out with any credit. Imagine if he had gone to West Ham? What would the score have been today with Bart in goal today? Special mentions for the centre backs, who both had an absolute shocker, Thomas in particular was all over the place. I'd love to see us sign a couple more before Tuesday, and someone to stick in the middle to boss the game and pick out a pass. I realise it was against Huddersfield and I wasn't expecting to go there and take three points with no worries, but the manner of the the defeat was really disappointing. P.S, Hudderfield, if they play like that every week, would be a cracking bet for automatic promotion. They were excellent today, a brilliant team effort.

Stephen! Why tell four lies?

There are highlights on the BBC website from all the league cup games, ours are here Is it me, or does the commentator think that Rickie Lambert was plying his trade in League Two last season? Plum.

I rate Thomas but it won't be long until he hurts himself again, even then I agree that JPS is a better defender. I would love to see him back here, sign him and Pele up for free and there is your 'spine' sorted. Although there is a chance I am remembering him through rose tinted specs, his free kick at Watford was one of the only highlights of last season. We went proper mental

Good effort, I tried to get Wait and Bleed going last year in honour of Bradley Wright-Phiilips but I couldn't get it to scan right, your effort is seamless. I am off to Huddersfield this weekend, I expect to hear it loud and proud.
-
Is this one of those threads like when people pretend they don't know whether or not we are debt free? Have I missed the joke? Or is the OP completely ****ing mental?
-
SaintsTV was **** so I wouldn't expect this to be a great deal better. I'm not signing up, had too many problems last year with the feed cutting out and the commentary team seemed more interested in giving updates from the Prem. They really need to up their service, especially with the BBC and Virgin covering the highlights packages well between them, the price just for radio commentary (and problematic commentary at that) is a bit OTT.

I wasn't suggesting Oakley wasn't any good, I meant if you use the analogy of Matt Oakley to say people don't appreciate central midfielders it makes it almost impossible for proper debate about what a player in that position brings to the game (I didn't just mean it, I wrote it) because any time someone turns around and says Schneiderlin/Wotton/Gillet has had a bad game anybody can counter it by saying nobody appreciates the work central midfielders do. I know exactly what you mean, I just thought he wasn't doing the simple things very well on Saturday. But in the face of massive opposition, and most importantly Alan Pardew, I may just have to admit that I was wrong about him on Saturday. I hope he can have a cracking season I really do, if he gets his head down he will be a real asset. I remember Barnsley away last season once we were 1-0 up and bossing the game he looked an exceptional player, maybe if we're winning a bit more this season and he has settled he will have a more consistent campaign. Absolutely, I would love to see him back here.

Thanks for that, I had little or no idea of what properties a central midfield player was supposed to have. I'm not sticking in about Schneiderlin, overwhelmingly people seem to think he had a decent game so I've obviously missed something, but using the 'Matt Oakley' analogy makes it difficult to ever seriously discuss a central midfielder's contribution to a game.
