I know the ecconomy is in bad shame, but just how expensive is silence these days? :-s Anyway, it would be a shame if it was forgotten about all together. I thought previously that it was the first Sunday AFTER the first of November, not the nearest? I don't in all honnestly think we need a minutes silence for rememberance day. That is afterall, what rememberence day is for. If we were playing a game, which kicked off at 11am on the 11th then maybe.

There is no Sky jynx. I bet if you look at our record of Sky games over say the last 5 years, the average points per game wont be far off the average for the whole season. We have been relegated once and come within 20 minutes another time. You have to be consistently gash for that to happen, not just a couple of dodgy TV games.

Awww, but it's fun. FWIW I think LH is Dennis' favourite driver, but I don't think he treats them in any way unfairly. I remember in Spa '99 when Coulthard launched one up the inside of Hakkinen at the start and went on to win the race. Mika was far from happy, but Dennis' said the two drivers were allowed to race. Think DC was still mathematically still in the Championship at that point, so it was fair enough IMO.

I'm starting to like Toyota more and more. At first they were just like BAR and Honda. Huge budgets, never got anywhere. Now it seems they are starting to progress and Trulli is IMO an underrated driver. Been around since the beginning of time too, more than giving Alonso a run for his money at Renault in 2004. Glock also looks a good driver and one for the future. Not quite in the same league as Hamilton, Kubica and Vettel, but good none-the-less.

I just didn't see any team orders at McLaren this year. Obviously yesterday Heikki was never going to get in Lewis' way, but other wise I think they've been on a pretty even footing. Sadly for Heikki, he just isn't quick. Hopefully he can find some speed over the winter, but this season he has been nowhere near as quick as Hamilton. I am guessing this has something to do with why he has been on heavier fuel loads.

He got rabies and had to be put down.

Other than the 6 points, winning 2 games on the bounce really doesn't mean that much for Saints. We have had several instances in the past where we have won 3 or 4 on the bounce, then been beaten by some crappy side, like QPR at home in the playoff season. We beat Donny and Norwich, then were as bad as we've ever been for the trip to Coventry.

I think all our cast-offs from last season have found new clubs appart from Powell and II. JV had good energy, but you just couldn't really build a stable team with him in it. Far too inconsistent in his passing, shooting and tackling.

Gah, what a shame for DC. It would be great for him, Brundle and Damon Hill to be involved in the BBC coverage next year. Much as I hate the adverts, ITVs coverage has been otherwise excellent. Louise Goodman always seems to get a quote out of any driver, regardless of the situation. Remember Webber in Japan last year, "it's kids who can't drive f*cking it up!"

Digital Scalextric. You can race up to 4 cars, using basically the same track from the oldschool stuff. Even old cars can be modified to the new system by adding a simple chip.

Well, for a start there was the BMW mechanic who got electrocuted by the KERS.
-
Is it so much that they've dropped off the pace though? I mean if McLaren, Ferrari and BMW had dropped the pace, what about Williams, Red Bull and Honda, who are no nearer the front runners than the start if the season. Only Renault, Toyota and STR have really had strong finishes to the season, so are they quicker, or are the others really all slower?
-
Anyone notice how Vettel would be the WDC if you just took the Italian Grand Prix? You've had your glory mush. Quit moaning.

Glock's penultimate was a 1:28, a full 10s slower than his previous lap after only a light drizzle. On the final lap, there was a downpour and it slowed him down massively to a 1:44. Being on the wrong tyres in the rain can often cost you 30s plus a lap. It happened at Spa, when Heidfeld pitted for wets and went from 9th to 3rd (2nd) by the end of the race. No foul play what-so-ever.
-
Timo was on the wrong tyres and was overtaken fair and square by Hamilton. If he had pitted, same as the others, he'd have been behind Hamilton and Vettel anyway, so Hamilton would still have got the title. Hamilton didn't win by luck. Ferrari got lucky with the rain, Vettel passed Hamilton, both of them passed Glock. All fair and above board, although I admit the sight of wheel to wheel racing, without penalties being handed out left right and centre, did come as a shock. Kubica should be at least banned for life, if not shot, for unlapping himself and slowing Hamilton for Vettel to pass him.

P.S. I now see the full clip of the Ferrari mechanics, I just saw a looped 0.5s clip of them shaking before. Classic! P.P.S. Hamilton world Champion avatars now available (see above) PM if you want one. P.P.P.S. A bit congratulations to BMW Sauber who have, I believe, gone the whole season without a technical failure.

I generally compare drive abilities by comparing them to their team mates. When you look at the field, Hamilton, Kubica and Vettel all out classed their team-mates. Heikki isn't a slouch, but Hamilton just blew him away. Look at the wet races, when the car performance goes out the window and the ability of the driver to keep it on the road and adapt to changing conditions is paramount. In Silverstone and Spa, Hamilton was far ahead of anyone.
-
Not bad effort, but that doesn't really show much appart from some Ferrari mechanics doing a chicken impression. Hamilton fully deserved the title IMO. If it weren't for that farce at Spa, he'd have won it last week. Massa has been good this year, but Hamilton was a class above anyone on the field. Looking forward to seeing more of Kubica and Vettel next season too.
-
Wow!! That was the most incredible end to the best F1 season I have ever seen. The World Championship being decided on the last corner. Timo Glock will never have to pay for a pint of lager again in his life. Big lol at Ferrari celebrating, gutted for Massa though. Shame about DC though. Would have been nice if he'd gone out on a high.

The "I saw him first" brigade are out in force. Seriously though sounds like a promising League debut. Lets hope between him Surman, Lallana, MS and Skacel we can set up a few more goals for DMG.

We did also lose to Rotherham in that kit, so it's not all good news.

4th isn't that bad. I mean, he is only behind the Ferraris and a wonder lap from Trulli. The Ferraris were probably light filled anyway, because they need both of them ahead of Hamilton at the start. A real disaster would have been ending up down in 8th or 9th, behind Alonso and a couple of STRs or something. I don't get this media hype that he's stumbled or struggling. A few wet Brazilian Grand Prix' which turned out unmissable. 1996: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=P-LLCjSylLE 2001: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bOU6hohWQlM 2003: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fD5NgW7FoIg&feature=related 2004: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zKSVskjsMxI

That was the Burnley game in the playff season. Rasiak (2) and Skacel with the goals. We we're 1-0 and 2-1 down according to soccerbase. Interestingly, I can't find another game where we came from 2 down to win ever. I am sure there are many, but not since about 1996 when they stopped giving the times of the goals and I gave up looking.
