We have just signed the most exciting up and coming English Manager
Arizona replied to carljack's topic in The Saints
This could all have been posted on the sticky. Please keep reactions to the appointment on there. -
Who said Phil suffered most? All he pointed out was that 911 had a direct impact on his life, which contradicts what you originally posted.
-
Jack Cork played for both Saints and Adkins before. On a season long loan at Burley and there's 0% chance of him dropping to League 1 anyway, but he is a common link.

The "I'm only going to MK on Wednesday if we've got a new manager" Thread

I don't want to abuse my awesome powers. I'll settle for signing Owen, Benjani, Vassell, Antonio, Skacel and Janker in time for Wednesday's match. -
Glad it's been sorted before we lose more games under Wilkins. Not saying we will definitely win from now on, but there is at least hope. Some people may be underwhelmed. Well, he has taken Scunny up twice on a shoestring budget and done a great job of keeping them in the CCC. He knows how to get out of League 1. He may not be the man to take us to the Europa League, but that's a very distant dream at the moment. He is what we need AT THE MOMENT. That's good enough.

Glad to see Nicola has heeded my warning. Let this be a lesson to him. -
The Flim United 93 was on TV last night and I just couldn't watch it. I just didn't want to sit there watching that knowing what was going to happen. I guess it's a bit like how old people feel watching the the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. Probably the single most disturbing news story to happen in my lifetime. I was at school having our school photo taken at the time. It took a good hour to arrange 1,000 plus students into an organised shape, I remember turning to the kid next to me and saying, "I bet there's something more interesting than this happening in the world right now." I was bored, but I've no idea why that popped into my head.

Maybe I just lead a sheltered life, but I wouldn't have said a large percentage. Sure it goes on a, but I can't say I know more than a couple of people who enjoy a roll in the snow.

We always beat Wolves, until they beat us. Wish I could be optimistic, but there was absolutely nothing I saw at Swindon to give me any hope with Wilkins in charge. -

Nope, was working for the original game, but I'm off Wednesdays match. Can't see a midweek trip to the soulless hole that is the stadium MK being sold out after the last 3 games. -
I did something very similar once a couple of years ago. The 'keeper saved the pen and it deflected up and skimmed the front of the bar. It went straight up about 20 feet, then down again landing about a foot in front of the line. The top spin it gained from hitting the bar bounced it over the line, whilst the 'keeper was off having a fag. Wondered if anything similar had ever happened in a pro game, now I know.

It was probably just protein shake.

Not when half the stewards are saying free seating and the other half are making people sit in their allocated seats.
-
Yeah, we got moved on before that. I went and found a seat behind where you would have been sat and saw them getting moved again.
-
That wasn't actually me, I was stood to the left of Steve at the far end of the away stand. Never actually spoke to that steward, he just kept shoving me.
-
The stewards were pr*cks too. Got there started looking for my seat and a couple of them told me it was free seating. Went and found a space and as we were standing up some kids came and stood behind us. Then another steward came up, told us to go to our seats and started shoving me into Stevegrant to the point where I couldn't actually move anywhere, all the time telling us to go to our seats. Eventually ended up sat on my own somewhere near the back, in front of a guy with a voice like a post op transexual who was loudly adding complete bullsh*t commentary to the whole game.
-
Yes, they are both so sh*t I'm not entirely sure they're even comedians. I think they're just TV "personalities" who fail biblically when it comes to being funny.
-
Just back, it actually wasn't as bad as the result suggests. It was sooo much worse. It wasn't even what I'd call football. I couldn't differentiate between what was supposed to be a cross, a pass, a shot or just a clearance. They were just kicking it hopelessly in random directions. In the first half it seemed we were trying to play route 1 football. It's bad enough just lofting it up to Lambert, but he wasn't even the target man most of the time. It was David f**king Connelly trying to outjump a centre half who had a 1ft head start on him. There is NOTHING possitive I can say about today. Davis putting Austin in a coma was mildly entertaining, but even that was down to sloppy defending. S**t!

Jo Brand, Russell Brand, Noel Fielding, Michael McIntyre, Patrick Kielty and Joe Pasquale are all about as funny as filling in a self assessment tax return.

We were about a couple of 'rows' back from the top of the grass bank, pretty near the top. I think I remember seeing that Sauber flag on Saturday during qualy, can't remember it during the race. Can you see yourself on here at all? We didn't do the gridwalk on Thursday, can you get in with a bronze pass? We didn't arrive in Belgium until Thursday evening so Friday morning was our first day at the circuit. We stayed in a lovely hut in a small village in the Ardennes, about 45 minutes away too.

You don't have to give a toss about religion, you can belive what you want. What you're saying isn't "mutual respect" though. If you don't see a problem with this cult burning the Quran, that's just ignorance not respect. The fallout from stunts like this affects those religious and atheist equally. If the stunt had gone ahead and some Muslim nut job took exception (fairly likely) and decided to take revenge (plausible) by blowing up a shopping centre; dosens of people could be killed regardless of their belief system. Verbal has summed it up perfectly.

Awwww, 'eed be triffic. *twitch* I've always fort 'eed be triffic ya know. *twitch*

Not 'giving a toss' about this issue isn't mutual respect, it's just ignorance. As Phil said, these nutters will affect the whole world. Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Jedi... There are people out there who are willing to massacre innocent people in order to push their own objectives. It's all well and good saying you don't see the problem with buring the Quran, but the reality is a problem. It's inciting religious hatred hundreds of thousands of Muslims accross the world will be watching that and thinking everyone in the West is a Bible Bashing nutcase out to get them. Of course they shouldn't do it, it's a retarded thing to do. Nothing will be gained other than a lot of religious hatred. Whether they have the right to or not is irrelevant.
