I know. But buying out of date aircraft which already need replacing is not going to cut costs. They will have to be cut elsewhere. In the RAF I would get rid of the Puma, Harrier, Tristar, VC-10 and Herc fleets. Replace them with cheaper to opperate, more modern Merlin, Lighning, KC-330 and A400 Aircraft. If taxes need putting up even more to fund this then so be it, but the military can't carry on using 1950s technology.

I'd play: Bart Butters - Fonte - Martin - Harding Puncheon - Hammond - Morgan - Dickson Lambert - Barnard I'm assuming here that Lallana isn't fit for 90 minutes yet.

I can explain it actually. I live in Bristol and as I was out running, the Millwall faithful were being herded from Ashton Gate back to the train station. Lots of shouting, police blockades, helicoppers, chucking stuff, "givin' it laaaaaarge" etc. I was also planning on getting some vuvuzelas to take to the Belgian Grand Prix, but common sense eventually prevailed on that one.

Five posts ago you were championing the FA-18 which is the exact definition of what you've just posted. Infact the Tornado first flew just 4 years before the FA-18. We need state-of-the-art replacement aircraft now, which will continue to be competitive on the global battlefield for maybe 40 years plus. That is not the FA-18. If we ordered those it would just be plain embarassing, infact many countries are ordering the Lightning to replace some FA-18 models. It wouldn't be cheaper either as you'd be looking at a replacement in as little as 10 years.

Had a dream last night that I bought a load of vuvuzelas to take to the game, but ended up blowing them at Millwall fans on the itchen bridge. Should maybe lay off the Edam a little.

The new cost saving initiative of bring in groundsmen from Rwanda, backfired spectacularly as the landminds began to go off.

It's a mild giggle, but fairly insignificant overall. Nobody will care about Pompey when they're an average NPC team, so there is bugger all to be jealous about now.

Gillett sent off on his second Donny debut.

Sh*t result but not the end of the world. Taking possitives from it, we looked very good first half. Dickson and Butterfield look like excellent signings. Appart from the goal, which was down to a mistake from Jaidi and Harding still being asleep in the changing room, we looked very sound defensively. We need another lanky striker and a pacy winger, which we already knew.

We're playing some good stuff. Not clicking yet in terms of a goal, but the signs are there. Some decent deliveries from Dickson, Harding and Butters. -
Brilliant news. Best signing of the summer IMO. Seriously, Bart is top notch cover especially at this level. I wouldn't have any issues with him being a first choice 'keeper in the Championship, let alone a reserve in League 1. There isn't a League 1 club with as much quality in goal as Kelvin/Bart by a mile. Remember THAT penalty save in the shoot out against Norwich? Banks-esq.

I am going to suggest this isn't true.

Spanish Air Traffic Control Strikes - advice please

You can get to Perpignan from Stansted on any given day. Sometimes there are 2 flights. -
Spanish Air Traffic Control Strikes - advice please

This isn't the first time the Spannish ATC have been on strike and wont be the last either. Generally though aviation recovers pretty quickly from these things. For example I once had my flight cancelled due to French strikes, but the flight I managed to get the next day was running on time. Perpignan is easily the nearest major French city to Barcelona I can think of. Failing that Bezier isn't far from the border, a good 2 hours driver nearer than Marseille. Be wary though, the French are just as liable to striking as the Spannish. If I were you I'd stick to your original plan and got to Barca as planned. -
Can't beat pointless pessimism. Yes we could be better if we had signed Antonio, Waigo, Danns, Owen, Benjani, Adu, Frimpong and Skacel, but we've still got the same excellent team we had last season, appart from MA and PW. We've added three excellent signings and I'm sure a couple more will follow. Possibly even before Saturday. We have Lambert, Barnard and Connolly, yet people on here are sh*tting themselves over Bradley Wright-Phallover.

Sorry, I just saw the thread title again and couldn't help but thinking of...

Our family used to go horse riding once a week when I was about 10. It was quite good fun. Can't remember much about the costs, but we were hardly loaded and the 4 of us went every week. We just used tracksuit trousers and wellys as none of us were that serious about it and gave up after a year or two. A helmet was the only real investment required. I doubt they're that much second hand. On the other hand I'd say very few people carry it on into adult hand, whereas most people on here have a kick about every now and then.

Signed a 2 year contract on August 29th 2008. The rest is pure maths.
