I can't see the F35 being anything like inferior to the FA18. STOVL alone is a massive boost, especially opperating in places like Afghanistan where a decent runway is at a premium. Taking figures from the fountain of knowledge that is wikipedia (lets just assume it's roughly accurate): Comparing a few of the advantages the F35 has. FA18 - F35 Combat radius: 400nm - 610nm Service ceiling: 50,000ft - 60,000ft Runway reuired: F**in' long - very short, can land in a car park.

That sounds like a good British solution. Bailing out in favour of a far cheaper option, even though it's 3 decades old and vastly inferior. FA18s are only 10 years newer than the Harriers we're supposed to be replacing. It would be just plain embarassing if we cheaped out of this programme and ended up with inferior equipment to Spain, Norway, Brazil, Canada, Singapore, Turkey and a sh*t load of other countries buying into the JSF programme. Not to mention the fact that the UK has already pumped several billion dollars into the programme.

I was pretty happy with the game TBH. Our first team was more than a match for Reading, even without Ricky, lallana, Morgan and Judy. Fair enough, it was game over when Pulis came on (first shot I've ever seen hit the family enclosure), but overall we looked good. Dickson and Butters were excellent, Butters' dead ball delivery wasna real plus. Barnard looked well up for it and the defence was solid.

I certainly think they should raise it a tad, even if a few more people do drop dead whilst working. There's something I find quite disturbing about getting to a certain age and your boss saying, "thank's for everything, now go home and wait to die." Maybe I just don't hate my job enough or I'm not old enough.
