  1. I suppose you're a bit nawty, are you?
  2. I'll hold your hand if you get nervous about being away from your computer screen for too long Dune
  3. Block 1 Row HH - going to be right on top of the f*ckers! Brilliant!
  4. Crowd noise was better today than the p!ss-poor efforts on Tuesday, but we can still improve. Singing at the proper pace and not speeding every song up to 15000mph is a good start.
  5. However even that is a bittersweet victory as AVB forgot to wash his hands before beating off, and he got a bit of Extra Hot Piri-Piri sauce on his helmet meaning his japs' eye became awfully inflamed.
  6. The only moment of salvation in the film is when John Terry's brother-in-law comes in for a meal and AVB spaffs in his spicy rice.
  7. A local taxi firm (Radio Taxis) has very kindly offered to take lone students home even if they have no cash on them - all you need to do is give the taxi driver your student ID details and then you pay your taxi fare at the student services centre on campus the next day. So many people walk up through Portswood coming from places in Bevois Valley, Bedford Place and the City Centre because they can't afford a cab at the end of the night, so I think this is a pretty good idea. Have also noticed a larger police presence after 7pm in the Portswood area recently too, bobbies walking up and down the street and cars driving through about every 10 minutes or so.
  8. Just back from the game, pretty p!ssed up still. Crowd was much better today than on Tuesday, despite a load of pr!cks at the top of 38 slagging off Guly at every opportunity! People get on his back too much. We played pretty well, still not at our best but great that we can pick up 7 points from 9 after 3 average performances. First half was quite poor, we were lucky to go in 1-0 up I thought, but second half was much better. We controlled possession, got the ball down and passed it around well. Was great to see after we made all our subs that we were still passing the ball around with quality, most teams wouldn't be able to make 3 subs and be able to keep up their quality of possession and passing like that. Davis 6 - Didn't have anything to do all game, which shows how solid our defence was. Richardson 6 - Looks a bit tired, but did pretty well. Got down the right flank but we left him out of our play a lot today - probably because he's a bit worn out! Fox 7 - Did very well, made some good tackles high up the pitch and got stuck in. A few problems with Nouble on the right wing but all in all, pretty solid. Fonte 7 - Solid, good in the air and composed on the ball. Good to see him collecting the ball from Kelvin again from goal kicks, as it allows us to build from the back. Hooiveld 7 - Again very solid and composed on the ball. I wanted to give him 10/10 just for taking that shot at goal (what a f*cking hit by the way!) but that might be undeserved... Guly 7 - Passed the ball around well, a few people got on his back but kept his chin up and was excellent when he moved to the AMC position behind Sharp and Connolly for the last 15 minutes. Lallana 9 - Excellent performance from him, he was everywhere today. Worked really hard, closed the ball down well whether in the final third or in his own half. Not to mention 2 great goals! So lucky to have him. Schneiderlin 6 - Not spectacular, but did his job well. Made some good tackles and passed the ball with confidence and style. His short passing is excellent and he has the vision to pick out a great pass when need be. Hammond 6 - Pretty quiet, but chased the ball down in midfield and made some good tracking runs and tackles. Prefer Morgan and Cork in the middle but Deano always does well when he comes into the side. Lambert 6 - Quiet game by his standards, but he did ok. Got beaten in the air a few times but his passing was top-notch again and was always aware of where Lee was to pick out a pass. Would like to see him shoot more. Lee 8 - I love this man. His movement off the ball is top quality and if we could pick his runs out more quickly he would be banging them in right now. Excellent run to set up the second goal. Cult hero status already? Subs: Cork 6 - Closed down well, some good passing moves and got forward when needed. Brought midfield stability and slickness which we lack when Hammond starts. Connolly 7 - Linked up really well with the midfield and made some good runs. Gets in very good positions. Just needs to bag a goal to get his confidence up high. Sharp 6 - Quiet again, thought he must have been frustrated when DC was sent on instead of him. Just needs time to settle in and get to full fitness, he will be quality. All in all happy with 3 points and bring on the next game!
  9. AVB: The Struggle This film follows the downward spiral of AVB after his sacking from Chelsea. Ryan Reynolds plays AVB, a destitute hollow man now that his life is empty and he has been abandoned by his former employers. The first scene takes place in Abramovich's office, only the back of AVB's head visible like that scene in Pulp Fiction where you can only see the back of Marsellus Wallace's head. Abramovich has a cardboard box on the desk containing AVB's possessions, a series of forms next to it and a briefcase filled to the brim with £1 coins - AVB's pay-off. Abramovich wears a sneer on his face as he tells AVB to get his things and "get the hell out of my club". A tracking shot follows AVB out of the building (camera still positioned behind his head) as his former players jeer and throw wet towels at him. John Terry spits in his face as AVB reaches the exit. The first time we see his face is when AVB turns around to face the camera and those who have just abused him, the front door framing his upper body, and says "I'll be back - you'll be sorry". Italic letters fade into view as AVB turns around and pushes the door open, walking into the car park as the letters spell "AVB: The Struggle". The next 3 hours and 40 minutes follow AVB as his money dwindles and he turns to a life of addiction - nearly overdosing on crack cocaine after his wife leaves him. AVB is helped to clean up his act by his second cousin, who runs a Nando's in Shepherd's Bush. AVB gets a job as a potwasher and eventually works his way up to assistant manager. The kitman from Brentford FC comes into the restaurant one day and spies AVB clearing a table, and offers him to come along to their training ground one day. AVB ponders the offer for a few days, after suffering so much at the hands of Chelsea. However, he turns up to the training session and - despite whispers and a few odd looks from the players - manages to put the cones out in a straight line for a training session. He is immediately offered the managers job, but guess who his first game is against! That's right, Northampton Town! They lose 7-1, AVB is sacked and gets glassed by a board member after the game. Fin.
  10. Aged 20, born in Southampton but lived near Fleet for 16 years until I moved back here for Uni in 2010. First Saints game was a 1-0 win at SMS vs Charlton in 2001 (I think that was our first league win at SMS - Pahars scored). First away game was last season at Charlton, 1-1 draw. Had seen numerous away pre-season games before but they don't count. Season Ticket will be purchased in the summer.
  11. At least it's raising awareness of some of the atrocities that are carried out in developing nations. I'm in favour of the push for awareness even if the issue is more complicated than it's being made out. I shall be attending the Cover The Night event in Southampton on April 20th because it'll be interesting as well as obviously helping to promote the profile of this absolute monster.
  12. Some good players in there. I'd suggest a few more potential targets: GK: Craig Gordon, Jason Steele RB: Nathaniel Clyne, Kieron Trippier LB: Neil Taylor, Greg Cunningham CB: Christophe Berra, Craig Dawson, Curtis Davies CM: Graham Dorrans, Michael Bostwick, Stephen McGinn, Liam Trotter RM: James Forrest, Michael Kightly LM: Jobi McAnuff, Craig Conway ST: Hugo Rodallega, Ishmael Miller Get rid: Forecast, Butterfield, Jaidi, Seaborne, Harding, Holmes, Forte, Connolly, Barnard
  13. Our support was awful last night. Trying to get songs started from the middle of Block 38 was a nightmare. Usually pretty successful from the top of 38 but nobody anywhere near the pitch wants to sing at all. Plus it's not great for the players to see everyone piling out on 80 minutes.
  14. Update is downloading for me! Woohoo!
  15. Yeah, cheers for the PM...
  16. Disappointing to concede late on, but I probably would've taken a point before the game as they've been in good form recently. We didn't play well, and Ipswich did well to close us down in midfield and force us to play it long. They gave us no space in the final third for us to knock it around and work space to shoot. I think Ipswich could've won the game if not for a few misses and a good save by Kelvin, so we shouldn't be moaning so much about dropping 2 points. The most important thing is that we beat Barnsley on Saturday.
  17. Our support was rubbish last night. Long periods were very quiet, and the only time everybody joined in was for a few minutes after we scored. We need to do better.
  18. Also just finished watching it, interesting insight into how a football club is run. Or partly anyway. Bhatia came across really well, a level-headed person in a sea of billionnaire nutters!
  19. If money talks he'll go to West Ham. They'll be offering the same if not more than us. In terms of signings there are some quality players who are going to be moving clubs in the summer - Graham Dorrans isn't getting into the squad at West Brom for a start. Need to be looking at players with Prem experience really.
  20. My cover is blown...
  21. Wouldn't be a bad signing, but he's a P*mpey fan and also ex-Bompey so not sure how well he would go down at SMS or whether he would even want to come here! He'll go to Hammers.
  22. Yep that was me... Still technically a student but in the process of leaving. Got a part-time job in a national radio company and i've also got another job in a convenience store to pay the bills.
  23. I'm insanely jealous of those who were young in that period - all the best music came from the 60s and 70s.
  24. Punch has done really well since he's started playing for us again, he just had a bad game on Saturday. No worries there, every player has bad games. I was really against him coming back to play for us but he's been gutsy and really worked hard since he's been back, so all credit to him. Seems like a nicer bloke as well, i'm not worried about him being a disruptive influence anymore. I really rate Holmes as well. He scored against Watford this season for us and has had a few decent games coming off the bench. Good squad player for this level and wouldn't be averse to keeping him on should we get promoted. He'll want to be playing every week though, so a move to a L1 club will probably be on the cards this summer for him - that's his level I think. If he didn't have his injury problems and was quicker he would be in the starting line-up imo. Great delivery and works hard.
