  1. Tbf, there was quite a famous Tom Boyd playing professionally relatively recently (in the last 10/15 years at least!). Aside from Kris, how many other Boyds are there playing in the English leagues!?
  2. That's us on the telly quite a lot in the next few months or so then, Man Utd at home, Peterborough away, Sheff Wed at home...is the rescheduled Charlton game on Sky as well?
  3. I'd have him here like a shot, even if he was a Skate. Very good prospect for the future.
  4. Yeah, the 01271 number worked a treat. Northam completely sold out (as you would expect), they've opened Blocks 1 and 2 in the Itchen and I got my tickets in Block 3. Good seats actually. COYR!
  5. Paul Jones was a rock for us in goal for years, then Niemi came in. The forgotten stalwart of the late 90s/early 00s.
  6. Yes, i'm on hold now after 20 or so calls of just BEEP BEEP BEEP. Will report back on sales and where seats are available still!
  7. Palarse are a club on the way down, their owners haven't got enough money to launch a promotion bid, their manager is very inexperienced and there's interest in their best players from lots of other teams. Come sign for us Jacky!
  8. Went to Kenya in the summer of 2009, would love to go again especially involved in this project. I'd probably also have issues with the £2k though
  9. They'll go quickly then...i'll ask again, does anyone know what the queues are going to be like at the ticket office tomorrow morning? If it's going to take past 12pm then I'll just buy the tickets on the phone, but i'd prefer to avoid the whole phone debacle and just get my ticket quickly.
  10. Yes, I would say he is. - Reformed the healthcare system to make it more equal and fair to those who can't afford private healthcare or don't have insurance - Given extensions on welfare to those laid off by the public sector - Tax breaks for those studying at university (great idea btw) - Extended tax credits to low-income families who weren't eligible before He's sent more troops to Afghanistan to resolve the issue more quickly, he's dealing with the mess that GWB left him. A withdrawl of US forces would eradicate all the work that's been done in the region to train Afghan forces to contain the insurgents. The defence spending and privacy law cutting is a counter-terrorist movement, god only knows how many terrorist threats the US faces every week. Why is that? I'm not sure he's done that much to provoke controversy tbh, he's been very good so far.
  11. People like me? Are you saying that 'lefties' like myself just want boring politicans? Obama is a liberal...
  12. Go to Thailand, with most of the ladies milling around Bangkok that's the only choice you have.
  13. Very true. British politics doesn't have an Obama figure with real charisma who inspires people, instead we get grey blobs of Oxbridge dross who are shoved into suits and carefully selected ties and they are supposed to represent the common man.
  14. Depends how much moolah you have to spend. Have a look out for transfer listed players, you can quite often get some great players from big European clubs like Real and Bayern on the cheap when they fall out of favour. Also scout round the U21 teams of the big International teams for strikers, send scouts to International fixtures etc. You can pick up the next big thing for next to nothing that way.
  15. My only friend on Facebook is Wade Garrett. His profile page is my homepage. I like to check up on him.
  16. I'm not saying that, more the fact that now I have a better understanding of how politics works within society I like to think that I can form my own opinions and thoughts on politics rather than being dictated to about the immigration epidemic and how Brussels is going to introduce a mandatory law where we have to let our families be raped by Polish plumbers every fortnight. Nice of you to highlight one sentence of my post rather than responding to any of the points raised in it though, as per usual.
  17. I wasn't really paying attention to politics back in 2007, mainly due to the fact that I was 15. That was a hell of a tougher time for industry than it is now however, the recession was hitting and people were losing their jobs left, right and centre due to everything collapsing. That was a series of last-ditch attempts by companies to avoid the crash, but it didn't happen and just made everything a lot worse. Now it seems the economy is back on its feet, but still we need to jettison almost half a million public sector workers? I find it hard to believe tbh. But that's just me.
  18. What do people think the queues will be like at the TO tomorrow morning? Was thinking of going down there and getting my ticket in person rather than relying on the phone (spent a nightmare 6 hours trying to get P*mpey tickets last year). I'd quite happily queue at SMS all day, but I have an exam at 2.30 so I need to be back in Bassett at about 1.30 to get ready.
  19. +1 Too many people are looking at this as statistics, 20% here, 45% there. In reality, it's tens of thousands of innocent people losing their jobs and it's nothing to get excited about or hail as a great victory for the Coalition. God only knows what's going to happen with the 410k people losing their jobs in the public sector, I doubt they'll be able to find jobs in the private sector because they're cutting there as well. When the Great Depression hit the US in the 30s, the US Government created masses of job creation schemes, training people in useful vocations and creating thousands of jobs for them to combat the scores of job losses suffered when everything collapsed. I don't think the Coalition will be doing that, do you?
  20. The large swing that the Lib Dems got at the last election will go straight back to Labour at this rate - both coalition parties have lost a hell of a lot of support from young voters over tuition fees etc. I'd love there to be a proper socialist government, not the 'New Labour' or 'Thatcher-lite' governments we've had over the years. It's the 70s all over again!

  22. Hey, if it tastes good, eat it. We all die at some point, we might as well die morbidly obese with a body full of rat poison.
  23. Schofield?
  24. Yes....debated....
  25. It's an oldie but a goodie.
