Nice one. While we're on a techy topic, any tips for cooling down my processors? They're running very hot, in the 80s. Done a bit of googling and most laptops tend to run perfectly well at these temperatures but i'm slightly worried about any long term damage it might cause, can't really afford to be shelling out for a new laptop. Worth buying a cooling pad? QuadCooler seems to be a popular one: http://quadcooler.com/products/coolers/quadcooler.htm

Yeah, I figured I would get a quicker answer in The Lounge. The ebuyer link I was actually just looking at, seems very reasonably priced and good reviews across the board. Think i've found my hard-drive!Just want to get one to keep music, videos etc on as well as some academic work, i've got so many papers and stuff that are just clogging up my hard-drive at the moment and making my laptop run slowly. Plus, the extra storage space would be nice.Cheers guys!

Any recommendations? Looking for about 1TB, bigger if the price is right. Looking to spend between £65-£80, don't particularly want to break the bank on it.

That would definitely tie in with what I posted on the HCDAJFU thread a few weeks back about us scouting the Portugese leagues - with the help of Jose Fonte's knowledge. I'm sure he won't be the only player who we've made a bid for out in Portugal - heard that the scouts came back with a fair few recommendations.

Would love to hear a few choruses of 'One Markus Liebherr' echoing around a packed SMS tomorrow evening.

Focusing on the academy is one of Nicola's priorities - I really share that belief with him. I'd love us to be producing a new first-team squad capable of competing in the Premiership every 5 years, supplementing our talented youngsters with quality transfers from rival teams and those abroad. That's a pipe dream for the moment, but I firmly believe that under Cortese we're heading in that direction.

Believe it or not, I have never actually seen The Wire. I now have Series 1 and I have to say it's f*cking brilliant.

They are playing a lot of festivals this summer, so maybe throwing a bash in Hyde Park at £60 a pop is a bit steep... However, they do have Mumford & Sons and Beirut supporting, so I might be tempted to see them for the third time in 10 months!

Not a very eventful afternoon tbh. He came down, opened a new building, announced some funding for research, answered a few questions and f*cked off.

BBC reporting in their Gossip column that Keys & Gray are going to sign a contract with Al Jazeera to present their sports coverage...

First Saints Game:- 2001 vs Charlton. First ever win at SMS. Marian Pahars scored the only goal. First Away Game:- 2008 vs Basingstoke. Pre-season friendly. First time I saw Tommy Forecast playing, and hopefully the last. Best Away Trip:- 2009 vs Farnborough, also a pre-season friendly. Jake Thomson scored from the halfway line. We lost, but the goal made up for it. Favourite Saints Memories:- JPT final against Carlisle, that was a great day out. Also seeing WT score his screamer against Ipswich in the FA Cup. Marian's lap of honour. The FA Cup run in 2003/4 Worst Saints Memories:- 4-1 against P*mpey last season, didn't speak to anyone for about an hour after the final whistle. Felt like somebody had died! Preferred Stand St. Mary's:- Northam, 41 or 42. Preferred Stand The Dell:- Never went St. Mary's or the Dell:- St Mary's Best current player:- Lallana Favourite Players technically other than Le Tiss:- Pahars, Beattie, Lundekvam Favourite Players cult wise other than Le Tiss:- Marsden, Niemi, M.Svensson Favourite unsung heroes:- Super Kelvin Davis Favourite Manager:- Strachan Most hated Players:- Phillips (mainly for what he said when he left) Worst Players:- Pulis, Forecast, Wotton, Gillett Worst Manager:- Redknapp, Wotte Where will Saints be in 5 years time realistically:- Premiership

David Willetts, Minister for Universities & Science, is visiting Southampton Uni campus tomorrow and is conducting a Q&A session with students. Any questions you think I should ask? I'm sure there will be lots about student fees, university funding, spending cuts etc. but if there are any other topics which you think should be raised I will put a question forward.

The World will become racked by famine, mass migrations and riots...
SuperMikey replied to buctootim's topic in The Lounge
Malthus was right then. FWIW I think there will always be something to control the population, be it a natural disaster, pestilence, war, lack of resources, forced control of birth rate etc. but we are definitely heading towards a critical state, unless we do something drastic. We talk about quickly growing populations in Africa and Asia, but with ageing populations in Western Europe and other first world regions, an easy way to deal with the problems caused by huge populations in poor areas is a lot of migration from third to first world nations. Dune et al wouldn't be too happy about it, but we need to spread the world's population out more evenly than it is at the moment, as Southern Asia and Central Africa will just become hives of poverty and disease in the next 50 years without intervention. -
That's ok, I just followed Davina McCall... ....I don't even have Twitter

Anyone who follows James Corden on twitter deserves to be hung, drawn and quartered. However, if Punch is leaving then I think Newcastle is too much of a step up for him, i'd expect him to go to a Championship side.

Welcome to News International, my friend.

Reading the Guardian website and came across this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/jan/24/curb-the-banks-government-propped-them-up Interesting...

He was decent against Man Utd in the cup that season actually, one of the players that had good games but were always underpinned by awful ones. That's the nature of a winger though, it's hard to be consistent.

Butterfield gives us a bit more going forward, but he gets caught out in defence a lot and you can't afford that when you're playing against the likes of Nani. Richardson is stronger too.

Cracking signing for us, FWIW i'd say he's a direct replacement for Punch rather than AOC, especially seeing as Punch is now with the U21 side...
