Pardew said himself that we're short of cover on the wings. We've not really made any signings for that position but lost two players (Waigo and Antonio), with Lallana also out for a while yet. Don't see why we wouldn't sign both.

I'm sure a L2/BSP midfielder would jump at the chance of L1 football and probably promotion in return for being a sub most weeks. Plenty of young, promising CMs in the lower leagues WCDAJFU.

Would be a very good pair of signings if true, both promising young wingers with big things ahead of them. As said earlier in the thread, all we'd then need would be cover/challenge for CM and possibly a striker and we're done!

The FA Cup game last season was my first (and possibly last) Poopey vs Saints game. Even though we lost, it was an amazing day. I've never felt as gutted as I did walking away from SMS that day, I didn't say a word for about 2 and a half hours after the final whistle. The atmosphere and noise when the teams came out of the tunnel and seeing SMS all red and white was magical. It sounds cliched, but it really was magical.

I'd say Kandol was good enough for backup, especially on a free transfer.

So - is the Echo stirring up trouble or are they merely just reporting back a fact and are duty bound so to do? Of course The Echo are stirring up trouble - that's what they do nowadays. The Eastleigh DoF feels slightly begrudged, so what? They got the friendly at the end of the day, and 1.6k ain't exactly bad for a Monday night friendly. Are Saints out of order for breaching a written agreement or is it a storm in a teacup? If Saints weren't free to play them on a Saturday, surely the Monday is better than nothing? We play them every single year, it's an annual fixture. It's hardly a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Is it important that Saints maintain a good relationship with their local neighbours or should they be grateful that Saints give them the time of day? Of course it's important to have a good relationship with Eastleigh, but i'm sure plenty of other clubs would appreciate the partnership if Eastleigh want to grumble and go to The Echo about a molehill they're dubbing Everest Part II.

FFS Alpine, give it a rest. - Club has 125 year anniversary. - Club decides to make special 125 year home kit. - Club understand that demand will be very high due to special nature of said kit, but doesn't want to order too many in case they're left with thousands of unsold shirts. - Demand for shirts from fans is indeed very high, and the ORIGINAL stock sells out within 2 months of launch. - Club orders more, and asks for patience from fans who didn't bother getting one when they came out, who are now moaning that they can't get one. - Fast forward 6 weeks, the fans that wanted shirts now have them and everybody is happy. - Alpine still finds something to moan about.
