You do realise this is a Roland Emmerich movie right? He doesn't really do substance, but you will get a f*ckload of special effects and huge action scenes. Good popcorn fodder, but if you're looking for a philosophical message behind the film you'll be searching for a looooooong time.

Glad to see i'm not the only person that thinks TFLS is awful. When I get paid this month i'm definitely signing up to Saints Player, i'm fed up with 30 second highlights. It's worse than 'The Championship' imo! The only upside is the slightly extended highlights on the BBC Sport page that appear the day after, it's quite good to be able to watch those back again. I long for the day when there will be a decent Football League programme, that shows decent highlights for once. I like the regional idea that somebody posted up earlier, it could be done with South East, South West, London, Midlands and North East, North West shows. 6 shows lasting at about half an hour each, broadcast to the audiences in that area, in the way that regional news is. With added red button interactivity obviously, for fans that live outside of the region. Pah, I could run this show easily!

Trippy... Nathan Tyson is tearing up League One for me at the moment, he's got 10 in 8. Not bad for someone that only cost 300k! I guess that the full game will use the same database that the demo does, so he'll still be on the transfer list MLG? Gave Hull a good run for their money in the LC as well, only lost on penalties because Saga skied his one. Would be first in the league if it wasn't for those bloody -10 points as well! Sigh..

If I had paid my fiver this thread would have been started a long time ago. This morning I had a Muller Rice (apple) and a pint of milk for brekkie, probably grab a Boots meal deal for lunch as I work there and get a hefty discount. Oh, the joys of life.

Gone for Seb Hines from Middlesborough in the end. Good prospect.

Ok, i've got £1.2m transfer budget left to spend, i've shipped out Forecast, Boyle, Patterson, Thomson and Lancashire on loan and i've brought in Max Gradel on loan, Elliot Omozusi on a free and Nathan Tyson for 300k. Sorted in the striker department now, wingers are looking strong, need to strengthen up a bit at the back though. Bit of pace at the back to counter for Jaidi's....slowness. Any suggestions?

No point in getting Zaki when you already have a top goalscorer in Rickie, you just need some decent foil for him. Nathan Tyson for 300k from Notts Forest seems to be doing the trick right now..

Well, here's my verdict so far: For a start, I don't like the new layout. I'm sure i'll get used to it, but I actually find it quite confusing! Also, the skin makes it hard to see players stats, especially in the Search section. However, i'm sure with other skins being released with the full version/fan made that will improve. Secondly, the match graphics are quite odd. Whereas in FM09 the players were quite jittery and moved funnily (and had the amazing ability to make the ball move before they'd even kicked it - magic!) they have much smoother movement and better passing etc, but I can't help but feel that the graphics are quite....cartoony, for want of a better word. I've been a fan of the FM series for a long time, and played Championship Manager for years beforehand, but it looks like I might need to rack up a few more hours before this one wins me over. However, I am very happy to take my judgements back if the full version is better, which i'm almost certain it will be! (Oh, and good job with the stats MLG, our team is quality!)

Brilliant, 2 days earlier than previously stated! Strawberry version out tomorrow MLG?

Also, the squad profile for Papa says he's on loan from 'Fiotina'. Never heard of them! Might be an abbreviation, such as Man Utd, but i've never heard it before..

Right click is disabled on the OS, hence the thread. The method i'd use is to take a screenshot, but i'm guessing that the picture is tiny in the first place, so the quality would be awful!

152 goals in 366 appearances, including international appearances. Roughly a goal every other game then. Could be a fantastic signing for us! How would everyone play the team now then, possibly out with the 4-5-1 formation and in with a slightly modified 4-4-2? Unless Connolly is capable of playing on the wing of course.

Woot! William Hill have put out their odds on who will headline the festival on Sunday, the favourites are The Rolling Stones at 4/1, with Coldplay and David Bowie at 8/1. Personally, i'd love to see David Bowie, hope that he plays. My personal preference for headliners this year would be Radiohead, REM and David Bowie, that would be insane! (Here's the article with the odds on btw, in case anyone wants to put a bet on) http://www.williamhillmedia.com/index_template.asp?file=13229

I'm StuffaLegends on PSN if anyone fancies a game.

Got mine. On the PC at 8.30am just to make sure! Had my tickets within 10 minutes. You just need to have loads of windows open, and keep refreshing. You're guaranteed that way. I don't see how there are so many people complaining about not being able to get tickets when it took 12 hours for the tickets to sell out, surely in that period of time you'd be able to get a ticket? Just get in there first ffs.

What players do we have that are CCC standard
SuperMikey replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
----------Davis--------------- Murty--Jaidi--New CB--Harding --Hammond---Schneiderlin----- --Papa----Lallana----New LW-- ----------Lambert------------- I don't think Mills or Holmes are perhaps good enough yet to be regular CCC starters (or at least for 2/3 seasons according to the 5 year plan). We need someone with a bit of experience and great crossing ability to counter Papa's raw pace on the right wing. Ideally i'd have someone like Michael McIndoe, who I think is now playing at Coventry, but was at Bristol City before. He's a great crosser of the ball, he's got pace to burn as well and he's tricky to play against too. However, I think that if Holmes works hard on his fitness and gets another 20 or so first team appearances under his belt this season he could have a full season next year and really improve as a player. I really admire him, he's come back from a few really bad injuries and still works hard to improve his fitness, just to get injured again. He is a great crosser of the ball though, and he runs at his defenders too! Centre back is a tricky one, while i've been impressed by Trotman so far i'm unsure if Preston will let us have him, as they seem to really value him as a prospect for the future. Elliot Ward as someone said earlier in the thread would be a good partner for Jaidi, but maybe someone with a bit more pace would be best. I really liked Fitz Hall when he was at SMS, he had a bit of pace about him, he was a good tackler and was competent in the air. Sign him up! -
Everyone ready for tickets today?

Pardew out! ....oh, wait.

Seeing The Cribs at the Guildhall on wednesday, anyone else going? It's going to be absolutely amazing!

Got it this afternoon, it's quite good. I'm finding it a lot more challenging than FIFA09, they've certainly upped the AI a lot more because I used to be dominant on World Class mode, and now i'm struggling a little bit on Intermediate. Also, why are Saints 1.5 stars!? With Saints I like to play a 4-3-3, lining up like: -----------Davis--------------- Murty--Perry--Thomas--Harding Hammond--Wotton--Schneiderlin -Lallana--Lambert--Saga/Holmes I'm going to download the latest squad patch in a minute though, desperately in need of a bit of pace, hopefully Papa should solve that! Perry and Thomas are soooooo slow at the back though. Going to give online a play later, anyone fancy a game? (PS3 that is)
