I really, really, REALLY hope he doesn't take the Reading job. He can do so much better. People may say he's been found wanting at this level, but he only had 1/2 a season in the Prem with a newly promoted club with barely any Prem experience in the squad. I'm not saying that justifies some very poor results under him (and some very good ones), but I have no doubt that he'll become a good Prem manager in the future. I don't want that to be with Reading though. Reading are a Premier League team in terms of where they are now, but in terms of squad, fanbase, facilities, reputation etc they are firmly Championship. If I were Nigel I would wait for Leeds - a team who are Premier League at every level except squad. Would be a good project to rebuild them, get them back up into the Premier League and keep them there. I would like to see him be successful, but not at Reading, being the sh!t tinpot club that they are.

His defending was shocking on Saturday, but to be fair he's not long back from a lengthy lay-off and won't be quite up to pace yet. Agree that he may move on in the summer though.

Looking through the other leagues, there are some great young players who will be available. Vincent Aboubakar - Not a great goal record (16 in 74) but a young player who's done well for Cameroon and is highly rated. Quick as **** off a shovel too. Konstantin Rausch - Left-sided player who's tipped to break into the Germany squad, although Russia want him too. Plays in defence or on the wing, very industrious. Vladimir Weiss - You'll know him from Man City, captain of Slovakia. Plays on the right or through the middle, like Puncheon but more technically capable. Emmanuel Badu - Holding midfielder, been compared to Essien in the past. Capped 40 times for Ghana already at the age of 22. Douglas - Big centre back playing for FC Twente. In and around the Dutch national team and could be set for big things. If we could get any of them I would be very happy.

Always good to get a few bargains in, who would you take from these? Obviously most of them will sign new deals with their clubs between now and June, but still... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_GB1.html You can make a decent Starting XI from that! ---------------------BORUC---------------------- SIMPSON---HANGELAND---FERDINAND---FIGUEROA --------------LAMPARD---DIARRA---------------- ARSHAVIN---------------------------------BRUNT -------------DI SANTO---PETRIC-----------------

Would be a decent squad option to have - if we're getting rid of Sharp, Lee, Barnard, Forte etc in the summer then we'll need to bring 1 or 2 players in who play up front. -
Reckon that Morgan is about as good as Matuidi though. Ultimately, Morgan's next career goal will be to break into the French senior team. I think he's got a fairly good chance with us, but don't be surprised if he leaves if a big club comes in for him. He's very ambitious, and if he can't get into the French squad here he might look to move.

On another note, Boruc was outstanding today. So solid. My MOTM by far.
-
Fair enough, but who the f*ck are Stoccarda?
-
Jay Rod has 96 votes in the MOTM poll... .....awkward

I had that one, saying that I had been downloading animal porn! ....I had, but that wasn't the point. My breath did catch in my throat while I was reading it though, scary sh!t until you realise that it's a hoax.

Thanks Turkey! (LOL I love that nickname, don't you?!?) As for the Cameron comparison, i'm flattered. I saw him in the One Direction video and he seemed pretty cool! What does he do?
-
I always wondered what you sounded like when you came.

I love you all.

I hate you all.

Kindly f*ck off.

He's still young, but I would probably take the money if Arsenal offered more than we paid for him. Ultimately we need somebody who can deliver at this stage - if we were consistently a top 10 finishing side we could afford to have Gaston in our team, but I can't help but feel that the money could be better spent elsewhere right now.
-
And what exactly were you doing there, oh super fan?
-
You don't need to justify yourself, people just like to take the p!ss on here. I know people that are/were involved with WINOL and it's a great experience.

He's supposed to be politically more progressive and left-wing, but takes a very hard line on sexuality. No more progress on homosexuality and condoms in the church until this one dies then...

Who would we be higher under, Adkins or Pochettino?
SuperMikey replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Personally I think we would be better off under Adkins at this moment in time. We'd started to turn a corner and were picking up good points, but that seems to have gone now. Obviously we did well against Everton and were fantastic against City, but there have been some truly underwhelming performances since (QPR, Wigan, Norwich, Newcastle) and I think we might have got another win or two from those games with Nige in charge. However I do think that Pochettino is more capable of getting us to "the next stage" than Nigel was, so in the best interests of the club he had to go sometime. In the summer would have been a good idea though... -
I heard he left to go and join Beady Eye.
