I think the FA are going to step in thus: * Create a 2 tier European Super League with the top 5 of the EPL, top 5 of Spain, top 4 in Germany, top 4 in France, top 5 in Italy, top 2 in Netherlands, Rangers, Celtic etc. * Have some weird playoff system to do 4 up for down from the 2nd tier by getting the winners of all respective national leagues to play a mini-league in June with the top 4 then getting promoted * Basically cut the lower tiers of the national leagues adrift to go to the wall. England will probably support 30-40 clubs at this level, the others will all die or become non-league I don't *want* it to happen, I just think it will

Basically, they have sat down and run the figures on the likelihood of receiving any money from the skates and have decided that they are not a viable going concern and that therefore the best way to get their cash is to be the first to issue the winding up order so that they can be allocated funds. As previously mentioned, HMRC no longer have a preferred debtor status so they're in the mix with everybody else, and with the league / FA ringfencing money from sales for other clubs, HMRC will probably need them to be in administration to be able to challenge this through the normal administration process. I'm not sure on the legality of the FA / League cartel's rules here - would be an interesting one to see 2 bunches of arseholes ( The FA / League and HMRC ) fighting it out in court (except that HMRC will be spending our money to do so...)

I've posted on this for years - I can't believe the council have spent so much time ruining the city really - it's a combination of ineptness, small mindedness and incompetence I'd say. I remember going to San Francisco, where they make use of their waterfront, and there was a 5 mile long path right next to the water that everybody can use, with individual shops, excellent bars and cafes and a great culture. When I returned to Southampton to watch the Saints 2 days later, I was stunned to see the new (then) useless lump of tin called Leisure World plonked next to the water, with aa high fence so you can't see anything. I'll always love the place, as I'm born and bred there, but having traveled around the world, I feel fairly qualified to say that it's a place with tonnes of natural potential and ****e implementation
