  1. Before largely jacking in drinking (and consequent munchie based eating) a month ago, I was a 4/5 a day man. Now - one does the job. This feels like a loss, as I used to get a lot of reading done on the Khazi.
  2. This is how it got to be in the premier league. Often, we were outsung by the opposition fans - who'd bought tickets in the home end!
  3. 'Shaven Haven' = paedo tendencies. Give me bush any day of the week.
  4. Random Breath Tests here in Oz. Like Martini - anywhere, anyplace, anytime. I don't think that drink driving is a good thing at all, but I think tailgaiting and being a nkob in charge of a car is worse than Mrs Dodkins having a sherry too many.

    Would ya?

The range of clothing he is modelling - HEMA. Isn't this geordie - 'He's ganning doon the Hemasex shop, way-aye bacon bun etc etc'. 'Are yooz same kind of Hema, man?!? Way-aye, bacon bun etc etc'
  6. This is a IV. That is, not a good Omen. For the Saints.
  7. Ha! I remember creasing up at that. But I also did at the Ethiopian / Pakistani jokes around at the time, or just before. My, how we have grown up!
  8. Didn't Blue Nun undergo a cultural make-over and at least move out of the 'naff' category. This in line with the increasing popularity of Riesling in general. Personally speaking, I enjoy Riesling much more than Chardonnay, so I feel Blue Nun's honour should be defended!
  9. Thanks for the debate Turkish. I was wondering whether any 'black' people posted on this forum and whether they'd want to come 'out' as black? I'm not black, Turkish may be Turkish and thus may have experienced racism based on the way he looks. But is everyone on here actually working/middle class white dudes???
  10. Cheer up Gus Moyet Oh what can it mean When you're Uruguayan and look like Peter Reid
  11. To Mr Verbal - I would suggest that Mr Turkish has his 'bigger picture' hat on today, and thus is no worth having a dig at. I do find it difficult to deal with his bi polariness, but I think he's making an interesting point, so no need to shoot him dahhhn....
  12. I think the film 'Quest for fire' ca. 1980 is the definitive piece to answer your question.
  13. 'Pathetic' is interesting, but if you want the low down on naming conventions (the '2's are in the south, the '5's are in the west), obscure roads, road descriptions, road history and all things road, then there is an excellent web-site: http://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/ I think I have read the driving commentary of all the roads specified - sorry but it is interesting.

    Arthritis

I don't know about medicalised marijuana, but on the rare occasions I have a spliff available whilst undergoing joint agony, the spliff wins. I think I've increased the dose over the years, but I used to take 2.3g of ibuprofen every day and that's a one way ticket to kidney damage. Also interleaved that with 2g of Paracetamol, which is a non stiop train to liver damage. Diclofanec, as mentioned above is good also, but is still NSAID and works quickly, but also loses effect quickly. Basically, a drug pot-pourri combined with appropriate supplements (Krill oil, omega3, flax seed - any oily stuff) will keep you functioning for a while. Ultimately though, your joints, like mine are fricked and it's a damage limitation exercise.
  15. Hi guys - just wanted to let you know that, yes, we do use this thread. Keep it up everyone, it's great to be a Saints and Roar fan right now - I hope to make my annual trip to the Suncorp soon!!!
  16. Yeah, but they were in the top flight for a longer period than us (always annoyed me that we couldn't beat their record after they got relegated), cup win in 87 - that's massive, and massively more recent than ours, and I have a feeling they got 1 or more league cup wins as well. It only seems tedious from the outside, looking at our record 1976-2010 - tedium is the word, from the inside it has been a roller coaster of exitement, and I'm sure Cov fans feel the same way about their team (though their strip is crap)
  17. Hypo - not to detract from this thread, but the word you're looking for is 'retract'. As in, 'The Sumo fighter retracted his testicles prior to the big bout'.
  18. I bought a Ford Escort once with a MOT 4 weeks old. Took it to a local garage (Eagles in Croydon for what it's worth) for a service and was told it was a deathtrap as the brakes were shot. Who did the MOT? Eagles. They gave some clap trap that the seller had switched the shoes and discs after the MOT - who knows. The bloke who sold it to me was probably like Saint_Jonny - basically looking for a mug. I just took it on the chin - the car was our first 'family' car but died about 18 months later (and I paid 1100 for it 12 years ago). So, I was a mug and the d1ck who sold it to me was a d1ck. I didn't choose to threaten to smack him in the mouth however. But should the opportunity arise, I would!
  19. Well, it's 15 years ago now (JESUS! where did that time go?). Down to thinking about her annualy now, and that is not a misspelling, but on the other hand.....gotta go.
  20. I hooked up with my mate's ex (as opposed to my mates' ex, which would be a bit eeww), exactly 7 days after their ex-dom. There followed 18 months of fantastic love and wild sex. Then she dumped me. Shame is, I never see my mate any more. Really I exchanged a life long friendship with him, for a fast track course in exotic ****ging with her. Right now, I'd prefer to meet up with my ex-mate for a pint.
  21. My first 'live' game in a while - we mustn't be complacent, brian.
  22. Simply saying that she loathed freeloaders, quite rightly, albeit that genuinely needy people got put in the same category - eg pensioners. Now she's in need, why should we not say 'Frick You', just like she did to needy people in the 80s? Show me quotes of her reaching out to the deservedly needy.
  23. I really did hate her at some point, but also her loathsome apparatchiks more so (Baker particularly). The mantra at the time was 'if you don't own your own car by25, you are a failure'. There was a ruthless drive to self reliance and the view that relying on the state was weak. Pensioners were offered meager rises (and hell, that was a good idea, coz most of them would be dead now and not able to offer comment!). If this story is true, then she, or her POS, is a massive hypocrite. Oh yeah, politics.
  24. Well, if he was 'guilty' of being a narcissist (sauce for this C&P please, not ketchup), there's no reason to villify him from the facts we know. I don't know if any 'dirt' exists on him, but he was definitely an elemental, energetic force. Can't really describe him as likeable, but he was remarkable - let's not forget he was a pro wrestler at one point as well! Talk about energy! Think Steve Jobs may have been described similarly, but he didn't work with children and thus open an avenue to slurs.
