Dan Harding! Always liked him. Covered right back superbly in the JPT final. I was also one of the "pro-Antonio" people.

He has etched himself into a piece of Saints history. 20 years from now we'll be looking at the newly published "All The Saints" (You'll still be going Fitzhugh! ) and reminiscing about our League One days, and remembering the manager that guided us straight through two divisions back to the promised land. Of course by then we'll have won 3 Champions Leagues, 11 Premier Leagues, 6 FA Cups whilst marvelling how Harrison Reed is still going at 39 (the best midfielder of his generation) and marvelling that we have MLT's super talented grandson coming through the academy and enjoying the surrounds or our new 250,000 seater stadium, the Liebherr Bowl.

I'd still rather have kept Arsenal as far behind us as possible but they took their chances well, and being only 5 points behind a Toure-less City is intriguing...

He's a good player, not brilliant but good. He seems to have good awareness on the ball, his assist yesterday was excellent, and his free kicks are very well executed. I agree he needs to add goals to his game, and then he'll be a good little attacking midfielder to complement Reed at DM, otherwise known as "the future". He'll only get better too with experience. Look at Lallana, who improved year on year. No wonder other teams' covet him.

Steven Davis has to be up there. Also Clyne.

All very well thinking positive but IMO City and Chelsea are battling in a league of their own. Them taking 3 points off Arsenal gives our top 4 hopes a boost. Yes we should be concentrating on our own games, and of we deserve top 4 we'll get there under our own steam, but it doesn't hurt having our top 4 rivals losing valuable points.
-
Need two thirds of points + 2. So need 14 points needed from that lot. Tough but doable and we need to to have any chance of a top 4 finish. Having a full squad for those will be lovely.

Does the fact that our Swansea match is on the first and most other games are the 31st mean it could count against Koeman? Palace in particular play on the 31st in a winnable game against Everton...

Still think we need a striker. I've heard Dybala linked to other big clubs this January. I hope we're still interested. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?52226-Saints-interested-in-Paulo-Dybala-says-the-Mirror&highlight=Dybala#.VLre0ScgGSN

All these teams having a pop at our position is a mixture of jealousy and "little old Southampton syndrome", where anyone over the age of 16 remembers us as the Premier League club that battled relegation year on year. Well we're not that team anymore. We have players coveted by others because they're top ****ing class. We have a manager that is likeable and has tactical nous, not to mention a seeming penchant for transfers. We have an owner who provides the funding while keeping her head down, thus continuing her fathers's legacy. In fact the whole set up of this club is bang on. We'll have one or two of the unavailable players from today back for the next game I should think. Let's get top 4 and rustle a few feathers.

Hope City beat Arsenal. Keep that gap at 6 points. Oh oh oh, forgot to say I was glad to see Cork get more game time today. He's an important player for us to have back.
-
Speaking of amazing feats, when was the last time we did the double over Newcastle?
-
It pays to have a top academy. Reed, Targett and JWP are all seamlessly covering available positions, not to mention those that are waiting in the wings. The squad has it's weak areas, losing Forster or Pelle could be costly, but otherwise we have decent quality in depth.

Koeman is my man crush. Sorry Lambert, I've moved on.
-
I thought I heard the commentator say Reed has played 7, won 6 and drawn 1. Might have misheard. If Gardos and Reed both have those stats then yippee.
-
6 points clear of Arsenal at this stage of the season would be ****ing brilliant.
-
Who wants it? Ok I'll do it. Terrific win. 3 away wins in a week, all on TV. Elia MOTM.

Blow the ****ing whistle!

Decent booking from Long...
-
Might go prematurely if Toon score...
-
Long injured. Uh oh.
-
For someone with 7 games experience, Reed has grown nicely into this game. Will be a top player with experience.
-
Show a ginger some love. I agree about Targett though. They should have Halloween masks in the shop of him. This is worrying. Newcastle are threatening now big time...

Getting nervous. Can I turn off and look back in ten minutes?
