+1. Look at our run to the 2003 final. Spurs aside (which we anihilated anyway), we played lower league opposition all the way through the competition. (Despite making hard work of Millwall...)

Not quaint per se, the wife and I tend to do the cheapies like EasyHotel (which was slightly better than we thought it would be), Travelodge or Premier Inns, but we did have a lovely one night stay at the Radisson Blu on Seven Dials. To be fair, we were upgraded twice to a huge room, but the bed was the best I've EVER slept on.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 Manchester City
SNSUN replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Where were all these talented youngsters when we were relying on the Youth in the Championship relegation season! If only our academy had been as good then as it is now! (Although to be fair to the Academy it was the glut of crap we signed that was more responsible for our fate that season!) A great point today - more than most of us thought we'd get! -
This was excellent psychic foresight from true Englishman Nigel Adkins - he knew England were going to draw Uruguay, so he signed up Gaston, Uruguay's best young talent, in order to ruin him. It's working. :-)

Awww what crappy news is this? No Wanyama? No Morgan? Our entire defensive midfield ripped from our line up. Sure we have cover in the shapes of Cork, Davis, JWP and Reed but they're not in the class of Morgan/Victor. They'll be a massive loss. No Clyne is a loss too, now we truly get to see what Chambers has to offer. No Boruc for a couple of months too - that's a massive loss when you look at what we have instead of him. How long's Fonte out for? I never thought we'd be so keen to get him back in the first team!

Girl tries to trick bloke into getting married
SNSUN replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Lounge
So if I show my girlfriend a positive pregnancy test, she'll agree to marry me? :-D -
I am happy to announce that the wind cleared the leaves away in the back garden again. This happened during the "great storm" recently too, and is most welcomed.
-
It's windy both outside and inside my house here near Windsor. I can't smell the wind outside but the wind inside is rank.

91% which is annoying because I pride myself of the use of good grammar. It was "year's" and "years" that I was uncertain of.

We're **** and we know we are, we're ****, and we know we are........

I work for the Tube, and even I want to chuck myself under a train some days...

Kelvin for me, everytime. But it's like asking whether you want your testes chopped off with a knife or a sword - either way, you're going to lose.

The signings of Lundekvam, Ostenstadt and Berkovic helped too. If anything, with those three on board, I still think we underachieved that season. It's still one of my favourite seasons in memory though, until Mr Liebherr bought us...

I don't know who Al is, but he's getting a lot of praise on this thread. As long as it's not McLoughlin, we'll be fine.

Helicopters crashing on pubs, cars killing celebrities, trains killing people in the US, and I bashed my knee on a friend's motorbike. Is transport out to get us?
-
True, but he'd have been handy for the following eight weeks. Pantillimon or Hart then - which is annoyed most about losing their place? :-)

Shay Giv....Oh. 2 days too late there. I do not rate Gazzaniga very highly, now granted I'm saying that based on what I saw of him last season, and the coaches have had time to work with him since then, but I would rather see another keeper brought in, IF possible and IF they're better than Gazzaniga. Otherwise there's no point.

Not our best manager but wasn't the worst either. His policy of signing older, experienced players did OK for us in the late 90's but it's what has got Fulham into trouble this year so it's a risky strategy. Was it Jones that signed Pahars? I suppose he got some things right. I take it Antonio isn't quite the player we thought he was...

I'm 33, and except for my best mate (who's nearly 36 and rarely comes out drinking anymore), all of my friends are younger than me, some by a few years, and some are still in their early 20's. Where I "hang out" and go drinking, there is an ever changing clientele of younger and younger people too - which makes me feel ancient. I still try and keep up with the drinking but year-on-year it's getting more difficult. I wonder if I'll get to that age where I take a select few friends and just grow old with them together. My wife is 29, and is clinging on to her 20's with desperation. January 7th is the day she fears...

I bought a Liberro Realis e-fag last year, it helped me to not smoke for about 12 weeks. In the end, such was my dependence on it in lieu of a cigarette that I was actually burning my throat on nights out. Fags never did that, so I started back on them. I only smoke 5-6 a day when working, hardly ever when I'm not, but do get through quite a few on nights out. Realistically mine's a force of habit. I am going to give quitting another try in the new year, so I hope to be successful then. It's hard to quit once you start, there's always that temptation. Best advice for youngsters is to not smoke in the first place!
