  1. Can't stand them, but money talks.
  2. Lambert's goal, Leeds away. Live on Sky, we were absolutely battered all game, the one chance we had, he fricking smashed it into the net, with a shot of such class, you wonder why he's playing in the second tier. So many to mention though. Connolly's goal against Boro probably demonstrated how good we were in the first half of the season.
  3. I have a source (it's a made up thought in my brain) that claims we're ready to take Owen Hargreaves from Man City, as well as Michael Owen from Man Utd, both on free transfers, to add a bit of experience to the side. This will begin the "Owen The Saints" chants around SMS.
  4. re: Morgan on Late Kick Off. My missus says: "Morgan speaks very good French". Idiot. I know what she meant but it's funny to wind her up.
  5. Great post. Norwich are my second team (my future wife and her family are most insistant on that) and I'm genuinely looking forward to our games together next season. My last Saints/Norwich game was in the JPT in 2009 (it seems such a long time ago now!) when we equalised in the 90th minute. My missus has never looked so gutted in her life. Cracking game though, with two teams that have exceptional support.
  6. He's rubbish and Cortese would be clever to move him on in the summer. Dead wood, get him off the wages. However, peversely, he has Premier League experience and is a fairly versatile player, and is still at a good age. Me? I'd ship him off. However I wouldn't be surprised if he were still with us in August.
  7. Are we sure that's not The Emirates and an Arsenal fan is holding a Southampton scarf? :-)
  8. I want to wear fancy dress to games, but the constant worry of what my peers on SWF will think of me is enough to put me off.

    Robert Green

No to Green. I agree that we may see Davis as our number 1 next season, and I'm happy with that - he's best at shot stopping, and we'll need that in abundance next season.
  10. I was thinking this. It seems strange not to be playing at least one league game in May, and certainly finishing before the lower leagues is peculiar. Still, more preparation time before the Premier League season.
  11. Jos! Might put a bet on it. Lee is obvious. Morgan, Fonte, Fox and even Bart are outside chances. Three of our new signings will be internationals too though.
  12. Anyone but Harry.
  13. Did we get a trophy? Any photos?
  14. I like Clem, but I don't think he should have brought up Sharps' difficult year. Billy is obviously going to be full of emotion about it, it didn't need mentioning. Aside from that, it was a great watch.
  15. Birmingham will be promoted IMO, but I'd like to Blackpool go up as they'll be beatable in the Premiership. I don't care who it is, as long as it's not West Ham :=D
  16. Kelvin: 9. Without a good keeper, you don't achieve anything. Bart: 5. Performed well in the cups, suffered a spazz attack in his one league game, but I was always confident should we have needed him longer term. Butterfield: 6. Didn't play much owing to Frazers' form, but proved to be a competent understudy when called upon. Frazer: 7. A much better season from him this season, providing some key assists to boot. Jose: 7. Not as assured as his League One season, but there are plenty worse CBs in the nPC. Jos: 9. What a signing. Solid defender with an eye for goal. The partnership with Fonte worked well. Fox: 7. A solid season, not brilliant but far from poor. Got some important assists too. Harding: 6. A willing understudy, but League One may have been his level. Martin: 6. Covered the defensive absences well, looked fairly assured and may turn out to be a good defender in the years to come. Guly: 7. Was MOTM in some games and disappeared in others, but still our best option at right midfield. 1st half of season better than 2nd. Useful goals. Chaplow: 7. Before his injury, and during Lallana's absence, he filled in brilliantly, and we did seem to miss him. Not so good on his return. Puncheon: 5. Still a cockle, but at least he apologised. Did very little on his return though. De Ridder: 7. A useful impact sub, and I think he will only get better with a pre-season behind him. Cork: 8. Another astute signing, and deserved his spot in every game this season. Hammond: 6. Solid if unspectacular, and struggled to get ahead of Cork and Morgan. Is this his level? Morgan: 8. Class. I was doubtful of him before this season but he's proved to be quality. Lallana: 8. He's been quality at times, and he makes our team tick and scores goals, but I think he's been inconsistant. Injuries haven't helped. Lee: 7. Looked promising until his injury. Will make the step up from what I've seen. Lambert: 10. Is it possible to score him any lower? What more can I say. Immense. Sharp: 9. Key goals at a crucial time. Connolly: 7. Played his part which is more than I thought he would at the start of the season.
  17. Jealousy, simple as that. What makes me laugh is that after saying they'll "walk the league" this season, having failed to do so, they're now saying they'll "walk the play-offs". Deluded. I for one hope Cardiff or one of the B teams beat them in the play-offs. Maybe another season in the Championship will teach them to respect the division they're in.
  18. When Hammond went off, Guly seemed to play a lot in a more central role, and I thought he was exceptional. Honourable mention to Davis, who made some good saves, Lallana with his goals (I will credit him with the first, even if it went to Sharp officially) Sharp and Fonte.
  19. If Bolton and Wigan stay up, which is looking increasingly likely, with Norwich, Swansea and Stoke in there (whom I think are due a poor season at some point) I think 15th position is possible. As it stands though, I'd have us down as 18th-20th, but I fully expect us to strengthen well this summer, and so that prediction is moot.
  20. So Gary Hooper anyone? :-D Our last Celtic signing did OK I reckon...
  21. Start well, keep the confidence up. Blackpool away please. :-D (Yes this was a dig at West Ham...)
  22. He stands at only 6'3, Rickie, Rickie, He'll keep us in the Premier League, Rickie! Rickie!
  23. We need surgery on the midfield, one or two central midfielders and major surgery on the right. Back up to Adam? Strikers are ok, Sharp, Rickie, Lee, all could gut it at the top level, but I would bring in one pacy striker, even if it's on loan. We need a centre back, we need a right back, and while I trust Kelvin, I'd worry we need a new keeper. I wouldn't want Adkins' job this summer...
  24. Michael Owen has been bigging us up following our promotion. I reckon he's touting himself for a move south...
