  1. Had good success with our Scottish transfers on the whole and he's had an excellent season statistically. We were also linked with him previously iirc so he seems like a long term first choice target. I'll be watching Germany vs Denmark tonight so interested to see how he gets on.
  2. According to this it was agreed in February? https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/league-of-ireland/waterfords-teen-attacker-romeo-akachukwu-17-seals-500000-move-in-the-summer-to-championship-side-southampton/a979771622.html
  3. Good spot!
  4. Because Football Manager is life, for no reason whatsoever, here are Charlie Taylor's FM stats as per FM Mobile 2003.
  5. Re: Charlie Taylor - Free transfer, Burnley fans will miss him, hard working solid pro who rarely let's anyone down, 30, on the face of it a solid enough signing without any wow factor but surely he has to be a better option the Manning? With Larios also to come back at some point and Meghoma probably heading out on loan again, it seems a smart enough move when we're financially challenged. As with Ghoddos if that goes ahead, another who could stick around for a Championship stint should the worst happen to us next season. As for the Downes-KWP "swap", it makes sense for it to go ahead bearing in mind the KWP contract situation. We want a player, they want a player, Downes fits in our system, they get a mobile, excellent right back. As people have said, right backs are replaceable and we have been linked with a few. Downes is integral to our system so this is a no-brainer if it goes ahead, although I will miss KWP who has been excellent and loyal for us.
  6. If he's on a heavily reduced wage as back up this is fine. 2 years worries me though, I hope we haven't given him the deal just based on a handful of decent games at the end of last season as we've seen from the Prem before... he's not an answer. If we bring in a new number one in while Baz is out this deal is fine. If Alex is the answer then we're in trouble.
  7. Preferable to an England performance. I've finally started watching Stranger Things tonight because all the cool kids have been talking about it and I want to be "with it".
  8. I finally got to the pub to watch England,.I finally got to cheer an England goal... ...only it was miles offside and the rest of the game was a snorefest. I'm Phil Jupitus from Mike Bassett. If we win the Euros I will jack my job in and become a binman.
  9. If we win the Euros I will shave my pubes off and get a tattoo of Russ hugging Gareth on my beanbag.
  10. We will win tonight. It won't be pretty, the job will be done quickly and we'll be happy with the outcome. Like sex, really. (Do not DM Mrs SNSUN)
  11. Had the same convo with my mate in the pub and he thinks what RL did was ok.
  12. One of our better players last season. If we were a Prem team linked with one of the better performing centre backs in the Championship we'd be delighted. Yes we loaned him out last time around but he's still only just 28 and he's a good defender. We will sign another CB I reckon but Bednarek would absolutely do a job for us this time around IMO as 3rd choice.
  13. We are reignited our attempts to sign Manuel Benson from Burnley. Mainly so we can get a sponsorship with Bensons for Beds to get beds for all the crocks we keep being linked with. 😜
  14. Bastard. Stick him on the list...
  15. Tis like when Mike Bassett's England scraped through in the film after relying on Luxembourg winning to get to the WC. For what it's worth I think we will win tomorrow but I don't think it will be pretty.
  16. Croatia had at least 2 if not 3 attempts to run that into the corner and they didn't - I knew that meant Italy would score.
  17. Don't worry Kobbie, you'll have much more fun sitting on a bench in Germany than getting lashed up with your mates in Ibiza!
  18. Wrong thread
  19. Jack Harrison rejoins Everton from Leeds.
  20. I think if Alcaraz is injured it's even more imperative we bring in another midfielder! 😁 But seriously I don't think the Alvarez injury would have changed anything regarding Downes. Remember also clubs this summer mostly need to sell to buy - us buying Downes means West Ham can invest in someone else. FFP or whatever they call it now will play a big part in every club's transfer dealings this summer.
  21. Air conditioning units at work - what is the point? They sit there all year and when you need the damn things, when you actually bloody need the damn things and need them to work and to do their job, they fail. I mean what is the bloody point? And then we raise a job and some company who was subcontracted by subcontractors of the contractors for my company come along and say nothing can be done for a few bloody Millennia until they get the parts, and then my company provides a fan that is less powerful than a gnat's fart as a replacement. I mean what is the bloody point!
  22. That's a shame. I can only think we've offered KWP a new contract and he's not accepted it so we're cashing in on him now rather than losing him on a free next year. I really wanted to see KWP play for us again in the Prem but perhaps it isn't to be.
  23. Ah well lads, at least your fans have been proper bantz.
  24. Still time for a Stu thunderbolt...
