  1. No football sucks, but signings smooth things over in the summer. The World Cup is a little distraction to life without football, but Argentina will win it anyway so there will be the obvious disappointment from us England fans. I'd happily accept a semi-final spot though.
  2. I only hear what I want to hear. Someone told me that Megan Fox wanted secksy time with me too - I'm still hoping.
  3. Are they renaming the show C*ntdown?
  4. Thanks darling, you can spank it if you want.:butthead:
  5. A settled summer is just what we need. Ok, so nobody in yet, but nobody out yet (that we don't want to lose) and that is key. Fonte, Lambert, Lallana, Morgan, must stay, and rumours aren't appearing in the press, so that's a positive sign.
  6. I would buy a season ticket if they were £125. I can't go to enough games to warrant paying full price, but at £125 I'd only need to attend 5 matches to break even, and I did nearly three times as many last season.
  7. I reckon the Facebook news may be our lot for this week. :-(
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8694687.stm I like. I'm Thinking about getting me one of those bad boys and telling women I play for England. I reckon I'd get away with it too, if it weren't for my protruding belly and two left feet.
  9. Yes - if he's anything like he used to be, could be a very good free experienced signing at CB. Assuming Jaidi has one more season, Riggott has potentially five more seasons in him, a good replacement. However with Jaidi, Fonte, Seaborne and seemingly Martin at CB, do we need another CB?
  10. Anyone that played Championship Manager 03-04 would fuel this rumour - he grew into a very good striker. Sadly life isn't like CM/FM, otherwise Brett Ormerod would have gone on to play for England and be the best striker in the world. Perhaps worth a look, no more so than any other free agent though - the Bolton stats aren't too impressive. Would also prefer Antonio to come back - yes he's a known entity, but we all know his potential, and on a freebie would be a great bit of business.

I would've said that of all the positions on the pitch, our strongest was left back. However in Pards we trust, so we'll have to see how good this guy is. Perhaps Pardew has targeted Harding being a back up at right back, as he did so well in that position in the latter half of the season - that would mean we'd only require one new right back - but is there really a lack of right backs out there?
  12. ...I didn't phrase that too well - I meant of all the realistic ex-Saints we could re-sign, along the lines of McG and not Bale or Walcott, Surman would be the oone I'd be interested in bringing back. Perhaps in a couple of promotion's time, we could think about bringing back Bale and Walcott!
  13. Sod the players actually playing football, set up a PS3 tournament and decide matches that way. We're all off round to Adam Lallana's gaff to watch.:smt111
  14. "Why can't we be friends..." by War. :-) I don't have a song I'd prefer. Perhaps they should record us all singing OWTS slowly at the first home game of the season and pump it over the PA system.
  15. I would take Drew back in a heartbeat. The option came to play in the top division and he took it - and we needed the money too. I expect that if he came back he'd have to win a few people over, but I don't for a second think he'd struggle to fit back in - he's still quality, and would be the left footer we need in midfield. He's The only ex-Saint I can envisage, and that I would want, back at SMS.
  16. Is it just me, or does our badge stand out more than anyone elses? It seems the red badges are more of an eye catcher. That said, I wouldn't be against changing the badge after next season, but it depends what it really is and whether the majority like it. Fundamentally though it has to reflect our club, our heritage, which the current badge does do - unlike MK Dons monstrosity.
  17. Bernard Mendy could add competition to the right back slot after being released by Hull. Is this the most outlandish of suggestions on here? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Mendy
  18. On a bouncy castle? :-) I would say I don't care where we have our pre-season tour, as I work shiftwork and wouldn't be able to go anyway, but I am off for three weeks in August and it sounds like a good way to get away from the missus for a while. To that end, a pre-season tour around the Med would be lovely.

As Maiesiophillic as that may be, I am in agreement. She was last weeks guilty pleasure for me, I'm over it now though.
  20. A play on the SRS initials could work. SaRSe or somesuch thing. :butthead:
  21. I go to games to watch my team play. I didn't use to - I shed my plastic status for this season just gone, and I'm very glad I did. I don't live in Southampton, I wasn't born or raised in Southampton, but Southampton are my team and have been since '89. I have made a few games before this season, but used to suffer from mild agoraphobia so they were few and far between. I'm much older and wiser now, and crowds don't bother me so much, and have thoroughly enjoyed my visits to SMS. Not another season will go by where I avoid games - in spite of shiftwork, I will always try and attend every game I can make - I love the crowds now, the spirit, the singing, I love the football, even when we play badly, and I love the pre- and post- match rituals that I have developed - wouldn't change it for anything.
  22. A free season ticket for having verbal diarrhoea. I can get on board with that. :-)
  23. If I die at 50 because of it - totally worth it. :-) I have a teetotal mate, and he's a miserable bastard. (Though when the rest of his mates pop out for a smoke every five minutes and leave him on his own. I can see why. :-)) :smt033:weedman::smt030:drinkers::partyman:
  24. Pee tubes for men. We shouldn't have to be expected to walk to the loos at halftime. Behind every seat is a tube linked with a hidden sewage system. so we can just pee in the tube without leaving our seats.
  25. I do love the whole situation at the club at the moment - a quiet money man in charge, a confident chairman in place, the ground paid off, new training facilities and perhaps the best squad we've seen for the level we play at since the Strachan years. However back in those play off days we didn't know that any of this would have happened. Scraping through and going up wouldn't necessarily have got us relegated from the Premiership straight away - and even if it did we would have two years of Premiership parachute payments to soften the blow. Promotion to the Premiership would have been far from a bad thing, I genuinely don't think we'd have dropped down to League One at all, but we would have been a comfortable CCC side. The difference with the current set up is that we have ambitions to get back to the Premiership and stay there - and the set up in place to do it. So yes, I'd prefer our current set up, just, but promotion to the Premiership wouldn't have been a bad thing at the time - it's where we all, REALLY, want to be. (Although I'll just be happy to be back in the CCC).
