Lol'd at that - genius. It's the chants that happen such as the "wotsit" chant on the day of the game that are sometimes the best...
-
It's the hoping that's driving me insane!!!
-
That's not unusual.

I actually used to like the 3-5-2 formation with the wing backs, nobody seems to use it anymore so I guess it's gash. I like the 4-5-1, but I also like Lee Barnard and he doesn't get much of a look in with this formation.

Apparently Yeovil played very well tonight, could be a toughy, although that's what I thought tonight's game would be and it proved not to be.
-
At least they tried - I was actually cheering louder for each Walsall goal than for Saints!

I've been following the scores tonight on SSN and I have to say, as amazing as our result is, I'm absolutely gutted. A 10 man Walsall going 3-2 up and losing 4-3 to the team we want to catch leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Even a bloody draw would have done. Irrespective of whether we can win every game this season, I still don't see us getting enough points to oust Huddersfield. Still, I'll be at the Oldham and Carlisle games with what little hope I have left cheering the lads on, and hoping that miracles happen... Delighted for Morgan - I knew he'd score eventually.
-
Is there a scenario that would be good for Saints? Huddersfield going bust for instance?
-
Ah true, hence why an Auto spot is out of question despite points-wise still being able to get there...

I think I just may go with "everything doesn't make sense".

There are many things I don't understand in this world, the female mind, the attraction of Renee Zellwegger to movie makers, why I am a borderline alcoholic and have a healthy liver whereas my sister who's clean living has liver problems, why Magnums have got smaller, but that arithmetic actually started making sense.

Am I right in thinking the Charlton result put us mathmatically safe from relegation? Phew, that's a load off. :-)

It sounds like arrogance, but pretty much anything short of total dominance of the league next season will be deemed as failure by Cortese and Liebherr, and Pardew will be out of work. At Christmas, we need to be in the top 6, or, if it proves to be a close league in terms of points (which I don't think it will be), then we can be just outside the play-offs if we're not too many points behind the auto spots. I don't think the play-offs would be good enough for us next year, unless we win them, and even then I think Pardew would be sweating. I worry that if we don't get out of this league at the next two attempts, the lovely funding of Mr Liebherr may dry up and we're forced to find new financiers. Perhaps I worry too much. I think Pardew is a very good manager, and he is certainly capable of getting us out of this league. I'm sure he'll see to it that, on paper, we have the strongest team to start next season that we could possible have, but as we all know, having the strongest team and winning all the games don't always go hand in hand. By Christmas, we'll have more of an idea of our fate, but lets just enjoy the last few games of this season, the summer rest, and the fresh transfer speculation that the summer will bring.

****ing useless ****ing Spurs. The one thing I've ever ****ing asked of them, aside from asking them to leave our ****ing players alone, and they can't even ****ing do that right. Crouch, Bale, you are a disgrace to the SOuthampton name, you useless ****munches. I am now the biggest Chelsea fan in the world on Cup Final Day, I may even go just to ****ing cause grief. Dirty club, and now they want to break another rule by being accepted into Europe. I wouldn't be suprised if they accomplish it too. ****ing pikey bastards. I never used to mind Portsmouth, I've never been a Southampton resident so the rivallry has largely bypassed me, but they repeatedly wind me up. I bloody hope the FA realise a ****ty little club in the nPower Championship with brand new players (as I'd be suprised if they have any left by next season) shouldn't be playing in Europe over 7th spot in the Premiership. ...and breathe. I'm just not having a good day today...

>> From the Beeb website. Is it wise to jizz over Portsmouth?

Before Christmas (and just after), we were beating the rubbish sides and losing to the good ones, (Leeds, Colchester) with the odd exception such as Brighton. This year so far, we've done well against the good sides but have floundered against the weaker ones (Tranmere etc), with the odd exception such as Swindon. It's all a question of consistancy. Sort out the consistancy next season and we'll be champions.

This will be the last match most of them see live, until they finally one day eventually maybe get back to the Premiership Back to a ****ty support of around 7k next season...

My weekend football accie started with Celtic, so it was over almost as soon as it had begun.

Bentley is the footballer my missus has the biggest crush on, she got it while he was playing for Norwich. So I told her that he was gay. It was the best man response I could come up with. 'Sides, I'm way better looking than him, I just don't have a pot to pee in.

Pavlyuchenko has been in good form of late, here's praying he tears the Skates a new arsehole and saves the world from having to watch an extra 30 minutes of their brand of "football".
-
I was going to propose to her anyway this year most likely, but this would accelerate the issue. She's a Norwich fan, so she'll have something to celebrate of her own...

a la Mr Molyneux.

I don't think we'll make the play-offs this season, losing to Tranmere and Swindon recently got me thinking that. Had we won those two, we'd be six points better off and dead certs to make the play offs. We lost, so we won't. I am looking forward to another season in League One, but we need almost all "ups" and very few, if no, "downs". We need to iron out the mistakes next season such as losing to Brighton and concentrating too much on the cups, and we'll go up. The CCC is where I want us to be - I don't even care about the Premiership. If we get to the CCC and get stuck there for a few years, it won't be of concern to me, although of course Liebherr and Cortese wouldn't agree! If we do make the play-offs this season and go up? I'll propose to my other half.

I've seen him play once or twice, nothing special. Feel a tad sorry for Lloyd James, as it is his position that's been taken, but six months for Semi was a good stop gap. Murty is glue IMO, which is a shame, so a new RB for next season would be required. If we want to go up - that right back should be the best in the division.

I thought this, jokingly, a while back. We're rich now, how much would it take to bribe the Football League I wonder...
