More outfield options will appease more outfield players in the long run. No back-up keeper is a risk, but how many times has Kelvin been sent off in his career? It can't be many at a guess. Even so, with injury to him or a sending off, Adkins doesn't seem like the type to take massive risks - I'm sure one of the others has been told he's an emergency keeper - and has practised for it in training.
