  1. If memory serves, my Hay Fever had been acting up, and I sleepily wiped my eyes (as you do first thing in the morning), and took a bogey to the eyeball. Not pleasant, it bloody hurt. They eventually fished it out with water and the corner of a tissue, but to this day I'm pleased I don't have to wear contact lenses, it would freak me out.
  2. I'm going to hold my breath until we put a bid in for Chaplow. (Funeral flowers to be sent to SMS...)
  3. This thread reminds me of a time when I was a kid, about 8 or 9, when, on a trip to Chessington, I somehow managed to get a bogey lodged behind my eyeball, and spent the whole day in the First Aid office getting drenched in water as the park employee vainly tried dislodging it. It did come out eventually, but I missed the whole day of fun.
  4. I thought I'd give it a nudge in the right direction. :-$
  5. I know he's a miserable bastard anyways, but he couldn't have looked less enthused to be here...
  6. +1, or at least let us sneak outside for a quicky. I also nominate you, SRS, to wear an Elvis costume to get the crowd going, a la Carlisle in the JPT final. ;-)
  7. Waiting for the first response to this thread is my guess. :-) We'll be in the CCC, waiting for that big push for promotion to materialise.
  8. Pards will know better than anyone that failure next season will result in him losing his job. To that end, I expect he'll be more willing to succeed, and will be enjoying the rollercoaster ride less than even the most bitter of Saints fans.
  9. "Southampton Style" pleased me.
  10. What's not to like. I like our crest anyway, and this doesn't spoil it. I suppose it could have been better, but it could also have been much, much worse. (A grinning smile of Rupert Lowe holding an "I love Saints" banner would make a terrible crest...)
  11. Me too! ( ...until last year, and it's still my regular binge drinking town of choice...) Many times have I stood outside the castle drunkenly challenging her maj for a fight. She's never accepted, just as well when she can cut my head off.
  12. I one hundred thousand million billion trillion quadrillian infinity plus seven want Pardew to stay as manager. The exceptions to this are: The Premiership saying they'll let us swap places with Man Utd if we lose Pardew, Someone pointing a gun to my head and telling me to vote differently or Pardew losing the plot and machine gunning down the entire squad.
  13. Ipecac will help you with that problem. Sacking Pardew would be a mightily stupid decision, I think he's had a good first season and genuinely is the man to take us up. However, I would like to hear a decision on his future THIS WEEK, one way or the other. We have stability for the first time in ages, let's not ruin that by letting this drag on until August before deciding his future. If he is to stay, tell him that, then let him go and sign the players we need for the promotion push. If he is to go, then do it - and bring someone else in immediately. There will be many good Bosmans out there this summer - we need a stable manager in place to attract them.
  14. Jesus! Ok, not the greatest right back ever, but he can turn water into wine, so that's good enough for me.
  15. I have a superstition I use during Saints games - I have a Matt Le Tissier Corinthian figure from 1995 that I hold as a good luck charm. When Saints are on the attack, I rub his nose. It's also a nervous thing - it takes my mind off the nervy moments and protects against nail-bitage. Incidentally, of all eleven Saints games I've managed to get to this season, we lost the first (Bristol Rovers) when I didn't take him, and took him to all the rest, which we won all of except against Pompey. Superstitions rule. I don't think you can count having to pop into Winchester services for a coffee, or the Royal Oak for a pre-match pint a superstition, but I do that too.
  16. My missus, her brother and her best friend have all been giving me a bit of stick - next season will be the first in the 4 years I've been with her that Saints and Norwich haven't been in the same league! It's going to be weird...
  17. On the couple of times I've seen him, I've not been impressed with Semi, but I wouldn't be against him being given a one year contract. James is a utility player, bit a right back, but if we still have him next season, I doubt he'll play much. I'd be very suprised if Murty doesn't retire, he's now too much of a liability. Which leaves Thomas. Keep him, if we can knock his wages down a bit.
  18. Running onto the pitch is for idiots. This is why I sit at the back of the stand. (Unless my short sighted other half accompanies me down to SMS, then I have to compromise.)
  19. Whatever happens with Pardew (and I hope he stays), I just hope they get it sorted one way or the other AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, and not let it drag on all summer. The transfer window is going to be key this summer if we have aspirations of promotion, and we need a stable manager in place to sign them. Would it pee off the players if Pards was sacked? I don't know how loyal the dressing room is to him - I do however think it is unlikely he'll go, sounds to me like the media are just hunting for a story. Part and parcel of having, what I would call, a high profile manager.
  20. There's a "Rickie Lambert signs for..." joke in here somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it...
  21. Thomas's was the best goal I saw. I wasn't around for the Golac era, but have seen footage of it, and Wayne's goal reminded me of that. In addition it was against a higher league team, and was quite simply the most unexpected thing since... well I can't even finish that sentence it was such a shock.

    Turnout

I do shiftwork which is unpredicatable, so I do a postal vote. God knows why more people don't do this - it's so simple! While I don't doubt that some voters had genuine reasons to get to the polling stations so late, you're right - they always have the back up option of a postal vote.

    Weird Crushes

It was a toss up whether to put this in the Lounge or Muppet Show but... do you have any weird crushes? Any members of the opposite (or same) sex that you shouldn't really fancy but do? For me, I may be slightly strange in the head, but I have a bit of a milf crush on Samantha Cameron. Over to you.
