Henry to miss the World Cup after drugs shame!

That "away" attendance we had for that game in North London was pretty impressive...

I don't think we even need a striker. Lambert, Connolly and Barnard is a good set, especially if Pardew has plans to play 4-5-1 on occasion next season. Potentially adding the attacking threats of Antonio and Waigo would add to that too. Of course, this could all be moot, if we lose one of the three, lose Pards or don't sign Waigo or Antonio.

Probably not the sort of "devastating attack" that his manager had asked for pre-match.

I wondered why they looked at me funny when I ordered the spotted ****.

3rd from the left, middle row looks like the gay dancer from Pineapple Dance Studios and Harry Hills TV Burp:

+1. Hilarious stuff. (Also, not a chant but cheering every decision that went our way against Oldham at home was funny, that ref was dire.)

I'd say our left back spot is the strongest we have in the team with Mills and Harding. I wouldn't say we need another left back. I like the right footed Harding idea people have though, we need a reliable right back. If only we could reverse the ageing process with Murty - sadly I don't think he'll be seeing another season with us...

Will be a good atmosphere on Saturday, gutted I can't make it. I'm already looking forward to the summer, the first summer since Burley blew his transfer budget on players that we will be so full of expectation. I'm already buzzing about kicking off next season - if I could hibernate until August, I would.

I see Richard Chaplow has gone on the transfer list. I'd sign him in a heartbeat. Could be very useful in our midfield. Jay McEveley will be on a free too - would strengthen the defence. Looks like there'll be some good frees about this summer, will be interesting to see who Pards looks at, I'd say our squad is about 90% there already - so we can't be too greedy. Can someone do a list on the front page of this thread, would make things easier...

I went to Prezzo on Valentines weekend. A lot of people aren't keen on chains, but I must say I had a very good meal in there. Not sure about the veggie options, but I'm sure the menu's on the internet somewhere!

I wrote a best mans speech which wasn't as funny reciting it as it was writing it - though I will say, when you do get a laugh, you'll increase in confidence. I was lucky, at my best mates wedding I was one of two best men, although I did the organising for the stag do (Newcastle weekend - top...) and my speech was better. :-) Aside from that, and signing the register as the wife to be fell out with the other witness (my signature reads "slag" - tis just the way it looks, I did get some weird looks off the registrar). There's not much a best man needs to do really - the stag do is perhaps the biggest part just a) don't do it in the week run up to the wedding and b) Make sure every going can afford it.

Foul. Wouldn't touch it with yours. She might get it if she wasn't so caked in make-up though...

If it keeps their Premiership fan base together, then fair play to them. Relegation usually results in clubs losing a section of their fans, a Europa spot would IMO keep them together.

If awards were being given out for this, then it's obviously Rickie that gets player of the season, but my favourite player this season and the unsung hero IS Harding. He's class, god knows why Leeds didn't keep him. He's a proper, intelligent footballer with a good football brain, which enabled him to play out of position when he was at right back. He'll never win many awards, but there aren't many players I'd rather have at left back than Dan, works his socks off for the cause too. Special mention to Lallana. Come on in leaps and bounds this season, the most improved player.

....except it won't be the Coca Cola League One next season... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8570749.stm All bets off then. :-)

We'll win, it won't make much difference but we'll win. 3-0

Remember when Torres kicked away the penalty spot? If he did that at SMS, someone would tear him a new one.

I went to the garden centre and I saw spades in spades. Then I went to the Auction rooms and saw lots of lots. Then I went to the cake decorating shop and saw hundreds and thousands of hundreds and thousands. This has been the story of my life, thanks for listening. (And no Jilly, I haven't a clue where your spade is. It's probably in the last place you look.)

I was going to start my own Lee Barnard thread but you've saved me the bother. I think he is a very good footballer, and a key addition to our side. Not only is a fairly reliable goal poacher, he has a good touch on the ball and works harder than any other player in the team. Watch him go - his little face turns redder than a beetroot. I like the 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation - but IMO you can't leave Barnard out - he offers too much. That said, it does suprise me why Pards subs him - although having worked so hard I wouldn't be suprised if he was knackered.
-
Any of the 3 ways of promotion, but even though we're not going up this season, we're the best team in this league now. (Now, not back at the start of the season.) Keep the players and strengthen one or two positions, and not only will we go up, we'll keep going up until they have to build us our own league above the Premiership featuring Barcelona, Inter Milan and Gods own football team, the Heavens Angels.
-
I like the 4-5-1, but the big problem with that formation is simply that it doesn't accomodate Barnard. And IMO he's one of our better players.
-
It was at the ref. Not giving one certain penalty is a pain in the butt. Not giving 3 certain penalties is scandalous.
-
Backi from the game. Weird seeing the skies clear of Flybe planes. First half was rubbish. The referee was ******* shyte, we could and perhaps should have had three penalties - the handball by their player in the second half looked a dead cert and nothing. Loving the cheers we gave the ref when he eventually gave something our way - livened the first half up. We were better second half when we put the attacking players on, but Oldham were defending resolutely - and I wouldn't have minded them but they were a bunch of timewasters - their keeper was atrocious - although I'm glad the ref noticed the subbed player that took an age getting off the pitch and booked him. Too many "misses" performance wise. Thought Davis made a couple of good saves, Fonte was immense again and Barnard was superb - some quality touches to build attacks, and he is such a willing runner. I think he was subbed because he had nothing left to give. Fonte MOTM by a long way.
