Just got in from my Valentines weekend in Southampton with the girlfriend. Man we did a lot of walking, for two fat people. Stayed in the Premier Inn, walking towards the town centre at about half ten on Saturday morning, we saw a load of the Skate fans being led towards the stadium. They then broke free of their Police captors and started running towards me and my other half (me in full Saints regalia), so I was pleased when they turned down New Road! Not that I was a bit scared, but I don't think the two of us would've stood much of a chance against the 50 or so Skates! Got to the game, didn't see a lot of trouble before the match. As for the game, I thought it was evenly balanced, we were better in the first half, and half of the second, but it was clear our back line is getting on in years as the legs seemed to go. Thought Lallana was superb, my MOTM for the second game in a row, though I think Pardew should perhaps have put James on in Antonio's place as we were getting murdered down the right. Favourite chant of the day was "You're Not Singing Anymore" after our equaliser but I refused to acknowledge the Skate chants! We walked back to the hotel after the game and watched the aftermath from our bedroom window. It didn't look like there was too much trouble, although some Saints fans got turned on in the Six Dials subway by the look of things. I missed all the St Mary's ruckus though. 4-1 is a bitter pill to take, a score we're becoming all too familiar with in this fixture. Will we get another chance for a re-match?

Be thankful. I never get ID'd anymore. I'm only 29 and it sucks. I must have one of those "been through the mill" type faces. And a beer gut that advertises 12 years of drinking...

Heart should ALWAYS overrule head for games like this. Head says loss, heart says victory. VICTORY SHALL BE OURS!!! 1-0.

Not just for Saturday, but for every game I attend, I will be holding my Matt Le Tiss Corinthians figure I got from 15 years ago. We haven't yet lost when I've taken it, and the one time I didn't, we lost 3-2 at home to Brizzle Rovers. (Yes, I had it against MK Dons the other night too!) It's a good luck charm until it proves otherwise...

If we win, it HAS to be Kelvin. Our longest serving player and consistant performer, and CLUB captain. (and the safest pair of hands with that damn trophy...)

Everyone round to Seanos gaff for a booze up! There's still lovely looking lady types sitting on the wall outside. (I'm still young enough to say that without being a "perverted old man"... :-D)

I'm as hard as a marshmallow, but even I'd not shy away from helping out a Saints supporting stranger. I've got your backs guys. (So ****ing make sure you've got mine!)

Bloody looking forward to it. I managed to persuade my Norwich -supporting girlfriend to spend the whole weekend in Southampton (as a Valentines/anniversary getaway!) rather than Paris. She must reallllly love me. What a game this'll be. We'll have the weakened team, they'll have a weakened team, so I'm not expecting it to be a pretty game, in fact it could well boil over. I hope our lads can keep their heads, we don't want any suspensions. We will win this. We have to. No Saints fan in their right minds would choose their head over their heart in predicting the outcome of this game. This match is all about heart. WE WILL WIN THIS. Anything other than a win can be dealt with after the game with copius amounts of alcohol. (Which incidentally is what we'll be doing anyway if we win.) :-) 1-0 the Saints, bring on Round 6.

I'll walk to Wembley if I have to! (Although I live in Egham and work for LUL so it's simples for me to get there.)

12 fingers on each hand, drool emanating from their mouths and fish wrapped around their ****s is a bit of a giveaway btf. ;-)

I have it on good authority that Joe Cole's willy looks like a strawberry lace. It's not short, it's thin.

It should have been a red, but the ref was very lenient with him. A stupid move by Thomas, you don't go shoving players 20 yards away when you're already on a booking. He wouldn't have cost us the match though, we were in a higher gear than them. I'd still play him Saturday, but he's a seasoned pro, and should know better.

What a brilliant night. I was my first solo trip to St Mary's, and I was loving every second, singing my heart out in the Chapel. I didn't even notice how cold it was, singing "We're going to Wemberley" was a special moment. A great team performance, we looked a little shaky defensively, but otherwise ok. I haven't got time to do the ratings, but I thought Lallana played better than I've ever seen him play, Waigo was a handful up front, though was a bit hit and miss, Lambert was solid as ever and a good comeback for Hammond. Thomas nearly lost it at the end, I was sure that sending off was going to lead to a Red card which would have buggered us up a bit for Saturday, but the ref, who was poor IMO was, for once, lenient with him. Looking forward to Wembley, I'm getting the day off even if tickets prove hard to come by. I'll beg steal or borrow dammit!

MK Dons Build Up Thread - It's a sell-out, folks!

Sell out, blimey. Looking forward to tonight. Sing up guys, we'll not have a better chance of getting to Wembley and potentially winning for a very long time. (Assuming we miss the play-offs this season and go up automatically next! Touch Wood) I'm fairly nervous about tonight, as has been said we're Saints and we don't do things easy, but fingers crossed we have enough quality to get through. Obviously I'd take a draw, it's a better result tonight than any normal league draw! I'm making the trip on my own tonight for the first time, give me something to cheer on my solitary drive home! -
FFS If I get to St Marys on Saturday and there's no violence, I'm going to sue the OP, the Police and Portsmouth for wrongful advertising. I haven't nutted anybody for ages, got more chance of getting away with it in a mass brawl. (I guess I'll just have to nut the missus instead...)

I shall be attending the pub I usually go to for a pre-match pint, the Royal Oak. Anyone know the opening time? (He says without trying to sound like an alcholic...)
-
I get my tickets sent through usually the day after the day after I've ordered them. I've not had any trouble. That said, the Skate tickets took an extra day or two, but I'm not totally suprised by that.

I like this. This'd be my line up too. -
He's welcome so sign OL from Southampton too...

Getting these next two games out the way will go a long way to restoring our league form. Granted we have a tough few games coming up in the League, but if we're as good as we think we are, there's no reason why we can't become a formidable force this season.
-
Most Saints fans will get the sash kit next season, but most Saints fans will also have a striped home kit too. I don't see the problem with changing the kit for one season, everyone will want the new kit, but it won't stop us wearing the stripes.
-
Exactly, give the poor bastard a chance, he's only played in one game! It's a shame he's going to be sat in the dug out for the next two matches because I'd love to see him play. I'll have to get to a League game asap.
