  1. Rory McIlroy will win it. Andy Murray? He'll get it next year with Wimbledon in the bag.
  2. Ah the Coca Cola player. Haven't drunk the stuff since.
  3. My first thought was for the kid. I notice the black lady/bloke behind her nearly stood up to do something before a fellow tram rider stopped her/him - and then gave her/him a hug. Can't believe nobody gave her a slap. One day she'll get her comeuppance for saying something like this. Good. I'm 100% British, and ashamed.
  4. People have a right to do their job without fear of intimidation or assault, but on a personal level, I wouldn't mind being groped, I certainly don't think I'd take it this far. I'd probably just laugh it off to start or tell her she was propah nawty.
  5. Rats are in the tunnels in central London, the biggest rodent problem in general is actually mice! Apparently. Hounslow Central supervisor nearly shat himself the other night because of a little overnight visitor.
  6. IMO a Premiership club will swoop for him in January to boost their relegation hopes. Someone in no immediate danger of getting relegated will get him, Fulham perhaps, or Stoke. I'd love to sign Maynard (it'd show our intent) but I'd also be happy with Jay Rodriguez or to a lesser extent Billy Sharp or Lukas Jutkewicz.
  7. Palace fan at work (aka Cock) reckons we'll finish mid-table. (17th?!?) I have us down for the play-offs, which would be a very good season, with the hope that everybody is fit and ready for the three fixtures. West Ham will finish in the top two, based solely on their players, a lot of whom are Premiership quality, and I still think the other spot will be fought by Boro, Birmingham and Leicester, with us as the outsiders. If you'd have offered me a play-off spot at the start of the season, I'd have bit your hand off. Now, after such a great start, it does seem a bit like an anticlimax. The January transfer window will play a very big part in whether these particular clubs finish where I've said they finish. For instance we could surprise everyone and sign, say, Maynard (who self admits he wants to be in a Premiership team) and a top centre back, and another winger, and a top goalkeeper and right back, in some sort of gluttenous spending spree that nobody was expecting, and **** this league by winning all our remaining games. West Ham could get raped of Cole, Green and, say, Noble. etc etc. You get my (slightly drowsy) drift.
  8. I think he did, but he was just a normal beardy man that learned how to make his thumb disappear and learned a couple of card tricks. David Blaine, born 2000 years ago, would be as worshipped now as Jesus is. (Not that I condone anyone for beliefs.) Incidentally re: Christmas, I bought only my second ever thing on eBay yesterday, and now have the bug, so everyone in my family better be expecting bits of crap from that site that I buy on the cheap.
  9. No, the Underground is NOT on strike. (For once.) So, working.
  10. We have a rodent guy at work (incendentally, bearing in mind I work on the Tube, the busiest man in the world) who swears by Snickers as a tempter for mice. He always carries around a few bars, and crumbles a bit up and puts it on the mouse trap.
  11. Enrol him in the Saints academy now. Get 'em while they're young, that's my philosophy. (On footballers, not on potential partners.) Congrats Bridgey.
  12. I hadn't thought about it from that view! If I gain weight before the wedding, and lose weight before any children I may have get old enough to care, they'll be proud of their old dad. I like that angle. (Except the losing weight part...)
  13. I saw a leper in a documentary once. It had the most beautiful spots.
  14. A new bike. I'm looking to lose a bit of weight before the wedding, the last thing I want is my kids in 20 years time ripping the p1S$ out of me for the double chin.

    Gary Speed

Gutted for his family and for Wales.
  16. Liam Fontaine. Was he any good? Worth another pop in January?
  17. LUcky smoke time?
  18. Afternoon lads, what have I missed? Oh... :-(
  19. I am working today, woke up at 3, finish work at half 12. Dash home, get changed, go to nice pub in Virginia Water for a spot of lunch with friends, dash home, hope my pre-arranged night in with a pregnant lady friend DOESN'T go ahead (my missus is out of town and tbf I'd rather follow the footy), nap around half five for 2 hours, wake up, dinner, beddybyes. I miss the old "What are you up to this weekend " freds in the Lounge.
  20. I actually Googled "Google Centralia". It's plain idiocy like this which makes people thankful I don't have an important job. (Interesting stuff though. Perhaps the real idiots are the ones still living in such a dangerous place.)
  21. The only paper I read is The Metro - and luckily, as I work on the Tube - I'm privy to a copy as soon as it's delivered in the morning. My news comes from the BBC website otherwise, or word of mouth.
  22. I'm all for clean energy - while I don't know enough to poo poo it properly, Nuclear concerns me. Looking at the devastation Chernobyl caused, and seeing that there are areas of it that are still no go areas even today, is depressing. Imagine if a similar incident to that or Fukushima happened in the UK. No thanks. Coal may be running out, but hopefully we still have a few more years left of it yet - plenty of time to find a suitable replacement. Maybe one day, everybody will be responsible for producing their own energy for their home - through whatever means - akin to the solar panels some people have had installed. (And sell their excess energy back to the National Grid.) Wind farms are ugly, but you can't deny we won't always have wind - but I agree with the earlier poster - we do have a shed load of water on this planet. There must be something in that.
  23. 4 points over 3? 4 points every time, the home record will come to a natural end eventually anyway. That said, I expect no fewer than 6 points.
  24. I agree. I'd much rather they were crapping their pants going into this one. The Echo already has it's headline: Saints full of disMay-nard. (They can buy that off me for ten quid.)
  25. Maybe I'm just in a good mood. :-)
