I agree with this. I've oftened wondered what position Lallana is best in, or what he believes is his best position. Following his goal against WBA in the last but one game of the CCC survival season, I thought he was an attacker, but largely since then he's moved all across the midfield, and in the secondary striker role. I do think that Morgan and Hammond aren't the greatest combination in midfield. Nor do I think James would be the answer in there. I'd choose Hammond to play over Morgan, every time I've seen Morgan this season he's been largely anonymous. That said, now Hammond's injured, I guess we'll see a Morgan/James scenario. Or perhaps a Morgan/New signing... :-D Sticking Lallana in central midfield seems an idea, Holmes on the left, Waigo or Antonio on the right (PACE!!!), and Connolly up front. Interesting to see what Pards does against MK DOns.

Twas a basic schoolboy error that shouldn't happen in professional football, but does. Poor concentration. None of the players will want that feeling again, so I expect they'll learn from it pretty damn quick!

If we were going to buy a centre back that doesn't get a look in, we might as well have bought Elliott Ward - at least he's got used to that position! Irrespective of how they played yesterday, as I wasn't there, I'm looking forward to seeing the newbies in action. Sadly the next game I'm attending is on Saturday in the FA Cup,and if all three are cup tied, I'll be seeing Perry and Thomas again. (Or Jaidi if fit). I'm quite suprised Pardew opted to play both centre backs, and leave out Perry, as it's him we'll be relying on next Saturday. Anyway, looking forward to it.

That too, but I was highlighting the poor recent League form. Every team has a couple of poor runs of form a season, except the really good ones like Leeds. I'm not too concerned this season with it really. It's next season we'll really be looking to do a Leeds.
-
I've said I'll always just look at the next fixture, but it's hard not to look ahead and see where we're going. I think I'll definitely just take each game as it comes now. 1-1 isn't a bad result away from home against a play-off hopeful, granted a win was probably a neccessity for play-off hope, but it could also have been worse, especially with the way we performed today. If anything, from the sound of it, Millwall were the better team all game, which means effectively, WE robbed THEM, and not the other way round. The good run of form perhaps distorted our views of where we're at this season. While the play-offs are still achievable, Saints fans will still want to make them, but as far as consolidating out League One position is going, we're doing ok. Defence sorted last week, now for the attack. I expect Pards will be very busy for the last 16 days of the transfer window.

2 losses in the last 4 too. Ignoring the -10, which would still not put us in the play-offs, we're quite simply just going through poor form at the time we play the bigger teams. We'll back on track again soon, I'm sure. Cup games to come now, so some light relief. I'll be at the Ipswich game, Cheering the lads on.

If he'd made the subs earlier, we could've been two up, so it's swings and roundabouts really.

Suicidal after defeat, Elation after a win. That's what SaintsWeb is all about.

You never ever ever ever switch off after a goal, I was taught that when I was nine years of age. Assuming we'll finish mid-table in the league, I'd now like a final appearance in the JPT!
-
No win, no good. A draw does plop for us. If we don't find some form soon, we're going to be looking nervously over our shoulders again. I'm keeping the faith... for now.

In summary, that's the shortest I've ever celebrated, then my computer crashed. I thought it would end 0-0, so I'm not as downbeat as you'd think. As for strengthing the defence, it almost worked. As for the attack, shyte. Creative players are needed, and needed urgently.

I'd cut my willy if we score now!!! (My pet dog is called Willy...)
-
A creative midfielder please ffs :-d

It's coming home, it's coming, football's coming home... ONE TREE ON A SHIRT, TEDDY BATES STILL DREAMING, SEVEN MONTHS OF HURT... and so on

I've had enough now, getting cross. I DEMAND you to score, Southampton Football Club. Did it work?
-
Time for PACE IMO. Antonio AND Waigo. Do it.
-
The trouble is because the backline is so new, we don't know whether to be edgy and nervous about them, but it sounds like they've done ok so far! Touch Wood. ;-D
-
Ann Summers to be our new shirt sponsor.
-
Messy IMO

Can I lie to the devil if I promise to sell my soul for a Saints win today? :-D

As talented as Schneiderlin is, he's far too inconsistant. He's not impressed me in any of the games I've been to see this season, although I take it for granted that he's been good in others. I also think the starting line up out there lacks pace. (Although I understand Pardew realises Millwall played extra time the other day and is going to use the pace players later on in the game.) We'll win this, I just get that feeling, but it's a shame Hammond has gone off. Dirty Millwall.
