  1. I'm setting my sights on M-Organ Schniederlin as the culprit. Ok, I'm done.
  2. I'd give the guilty player 50 lashes if I were the gaffer. Definitely some pretty low-brow humour on this thread.
  3. That's what I thought, it was a Lowe signing. Redknapp was the person to use him in the first team consistantly, but wasn't it because we sold Beatts to Everton?
  4. My No Smoking resolution ended at 00:41 on New Years Day. My losing weight resolution ended at 08:15ish on New Years Day when I was presented with a fry up. My "Be Nicer to my girlfriend" resolution was a virtual non-starter. Next year, my New Years resolution will be to not make New Years resolutions.
  5. I should think that he's very comfortable where he is. He hasn't done a lot wrong so far, he has a stable chairman/board in place, stable finances, he's working in a magnificent setting with players of his own choosing, and has money to spend should he wish for it. In fact, the only reason why I could see him leaving is if the chairman buggers off, hopefully very unlikely, if we stagnate in this league for longer than next summer, or if his dream job comes back in for him. (West Ham or perhaps Man U - who wouldn't want that job...) We're so used to losing managers that we seemingly almost come to accepting he'll go eventually, but fingers crossed he sees out what he's started.
  6. I've often wondered whether bringing the two transfer windows to English football was a small reason as to why we got relegated from the Premiership. After all these years, I'm not still looking for excuses, but surely if the English game hadn't introduced the closure of the window at the end of August, then we could have strengthened the team, especially the defence in our relegation season. I understand the windows were brought in to set us up on a level par with the continental system, but the way it was in the past, we were able to sign players that kept us up. A few spring to mind, Micky Evans, Marian Pahars, Claus Lundekvam, Egil Ostenstadt, Eyal Berkovic, all players that came in during the season that strengthened us up and, ultimately, saved us from relegation in the 90's. This is also highlighted this week with the snow and ice. Effectively a week of the already short January window has gone, with very little chance of signings being completed. Does anyone else think the windows haven't helped us in the past, would you rather see the old system with one deadline day, or do you think the current system provides more excitement at the end of August and January?
  7. Yes, it suprises me that nobody snapped him up. With Murty likely to never play regularly for us, you'd think we could use a player of Volz's experience. No chance. He wants to play at the world cup, we all knew the hissy fits the poles had about playing for us, and that was when we were in the CCC!
  8. As I've said if you want a customer number, just email the ticket office with your name and address. They're more than helpful, and I got mine within two days.
  9. My missus is a Norwich fan, raised in the area. I won't say anything bad against them or the place. (Though it is a bit of a dive. :-D) Saints are much better though. :-D She's readily coming to St Mary's for the Ipswich game - pretty much the one and only time she'll be cheering us on!
  10. As for genuinely funny, pretty much anything said by Gordon Strachan, but I have to admit, that photo of the original Bates statue gets me every time. Hilarious stuff, it'll be in Saints' history for ever. Ali Dia is a good shout, but it wasn't as funny for us as it is for other fans. I did chortle at that kid running onto the pitch during the Norwich JPT game, but the less said about that the better.
  11. A long time ago, when I were a young'un, I used to leave dog crap if it were behind a tree. I got caught by a dog warden, and fined. Now I always pick it up, and hate others that don't. It's gross. I might follow these people home one day and curl one out on their front garden.
  12. Initially the biggest problem with the system is that I didn't have a customer number. A quick email to the ticket office fixed that. It's a good system, otherwise.
  13. Distinct lack of height IMO. Did you just cover Simon Gillett with snow?
  14. Bit fat IMO. The Frosty version of MLT. Bet he's got a good sliding tackle.
  15. Gutted if true, half because we'd miss out on a quality defender at this level, and half cos I couldn't live from the gloating from 'er indoors.
  16. Quite frankly, I don't see any new signings until the snow melts, and this will be a tough one for people to get to. Besides, I can't make this game, so there's a chance I could make the re-arranged game! (Selfish I know...) If it gets postponed, it also gives us time to bring in a few more players, thus strengthening our team when we do eventually play them. If the game does go ahead, then I fully expect the 11 players that are picked to go out there and work their nut sacks off. This game could be reguarded as a six pointer if we believe we can make the play-offs, and anything other than a win would be unacceptable. We've got to put the Leeds and Colchester results out of our minds. That said, we haven't been playing too well of late, and this will end up a draw. (If it goes ahead.) 2-2 (Many goals as the players will want to run around a lot to keep from freezing.)
  17. Gillett is a funny one. He's a player that flatters to decieve, a real try hard that will run around for 90 minutes and give everything to the cause, but without setting the world alight. In a season when all our players looked crud, he stood out as being the best of a bad bunch (last season this is), and Doncaster must see something in him because they want him to stay. I can't make my mind up either way. He's not 18 or 19, perhaps if he was then I'd be hoping we'd hang on to him, yet we haven't tried him this season in League One when you think he'd have fit right into the team. The Hammond transfer didn't help, Hammond is undoubtedly better and it pretty much cost Gillett his place in the team. In my mind, he's the Francis Benali of central midfielders, a player without much natural talent but with a will to give his all. If we do let him go, he's just the sort of player that in a few years we could regret allowing to go. Or, on the flip side, he could just as easily find his level in League Two. We shall see.
  18. Sadly I had to miss the Luton game due to work. Hence why all 11k of my children weren't there either. (Only the first part of that is true.)
  19. Tons of January to go yet, so this isn't a bad thing. He's not impressed me much when I've seen him although according to my more observant missus, he was trying hard against Exeter on Boxing Day. The snow will probably put paid to any more signings over the next few days, so start the sweepstake up again and I'd pick a date next week for the next signing.
  20. Apologies then - it has been known for people to complain about buying tickets on the day about 15 minutes before a game.
  21. Wanted a big team but will take this. I'm just glad we're at home - the next game I could make it to St Mary's for was that day vs Swindon. Had we been drawn away I wouldn't have been able to make it to St Mary's until February. :-) With my missus as a Norwich fan, she now has every reason to come to MY club and support MY team!
  22. Apparently Hull are after him. :-D

My day only began 2 and a half hours ago! I love holidays.
  24. Thought he was playing for Belenenses. He would be a League One marquee signing, but it wouldn't happen.
  25. That could've been confusing
