  1. This may be the Lounge, so I'll keep it as clean as possible, but I would ruin Cat Deeley. The dress she was wearing on Saturday was so short, I couldn't stop staring at her legs! And I'm not a leg man...
  2. If you're contracted, you should get paid, so long as they have officially told you not to go in. Otherwise, take a rag, go to work and clean the windows. They surely couldn't deny you pay then, plus you've shown initiative to your new employers. Or just go down the pub.
  3. If this happens, I will literally burst with excitement. He's been linked with the top CCC and one or two Premiership sides, I wouldn't be too sure that even we could persuade him to come here, irrespective of the money we throw at him.
  4. I'd be suprised if he goes anywhere. Always seemed like a one club man, I think he'd rather retire than drop through the leagues, despite what Fergie says. He has become too injury prone too, which would put him on the same footing as Murty. We have James who, despite having his doubters, can do the job there until we can sign a competent replacement.
  5. Good call. Never post when hungover. Brain meltdown.
  6. Suprises me that they'd put Swindon above Millwall and the Dons.
  7. Thanks to alcohol, I can't remember what I did last week! I'd be suprised if Rasiak played for Spurs at all, I thought he'd been at Derby for longer than one season...
  8. I wouldn't say they're on a par with Claus and Killer, but the partnership of one brute, header winning, no nonsense defender and one silky ball playing defender could draw similarities. It'd be nice to have a settled centre back pairing. With Thomas, Trotman, Perry and Jaidi we were always chopping and changing. Granted players go in and out of form, but my friend who's a Palace fan seems to think, or know of course, that Fonte is a consistant player, rarely letting the team down. I expect him to nut me if we also take Danns.
  9. The team looks good enough but you can never strengthen too much. Pardew can obviously see that. The more players we sign of a quality better than what we have, the more chance of promotion this or next season. Failing that, we'll still have dozens of little investments running around all over the pitch!
  10. Let's appeal the 10 point deduction. Well, if Newcastle think they can re-write the rules.... Sell them Pulis - tell them he's the cousin of Lionel Messi.
  11. I'd be suprised if we can't persuade Lallana to stay, as long as he's happy here. We can afford it financially, it's up to him whether he wants to spearhead the push for promotion or sit on the bench for Wolves like Surman. Same for Morgan, although we never know what's going to happen. We might suprise ourselves and make it up this season!
  12. Jose Fonte. Isn't it funny how music cannot be expressed on a messageboard. :-D There's got to be a way of fitting his name into the Hokey Cokey.
  13. Albeit the newbies would be FA Cup tied, so we'd be relying on the same old (and young) faces.
  14. Norman Wisdom is a good shout. I thought I'd be all big and special and clever by suggesting him but Gaz beat me to it. Hugh Heffner is another shout, choking on a Viagra.
  15. Does anyone have Pulis on the back of their shirt? I could imagine him hiding behind the dressing gowns at the megastore waiting for the first... Don't know much about Danns, but certainly looking forward to seeing the new arrivals play!
  16. Very excited by this, a centre back that plays the ball out of defence rather than hoofs it. In my (admittedly strange) head, he's the Claus Lundekvam to Jaidi's Mike Svensson. I was reading through the Palace website and they do seem gutted, but understand it was done due to their financial troubles - oh how I am so glad we don't have those anymore. He also sounds like a player the fans will love, a real "get involved with the fans" player. Fingers crossed he proves to be the best centre back in the league.
  17. I'm setting my sights on M-Organ Schniederlin as the culprit. Ok, I'm done.
  18. I'd give the guilty player 50 lashes if I were the gaffer. Definitely some pretty low-brow humour on this thread.
  19. That's what I thought, it was a Lowe signing. Redknapp was the person to use him in the first team consistantly, but wasn't it because we sold Beatts to Everton?
  20. My No Smoking resolution ended at 00:41 on New Years Day. My losing weight resolution ended at 08:15ish on New Years Day when I was presented with a fry up. My "Be Nicer to my girlfriend" resolution was a virtual non-starter. Next year, my New Years resolution will be to not make New Years resolutions.
  21. I should think that he's very comfortable where he is. He hasn't done a lot wrong so far, he has a stable chairman/board in place, stable finances, he's working in a magnificent setting with players of his own choosing, and has money to spend should he wish for it. In fact, the only reason why I could see him leaving is if the chairman buggers off, hopefully very unlikely, if we stagnate in this league for longer than next summer, or if his dream job comes back in for him. (West Ham or perhaps Man U - who wouldn't want that job...) We're so used to losing managers that we seemingly almost come to accepting he'll go eventually, but fingers crossed he sees out what he's started.
  22. I've often wondered whether bringing the two transfer windows to English football was a small reason as to why we got relegated from the Premiership. After all these years, I'm not still looking for excuses, but surely if the English game hadn't introduced the closure of the window at the end of August, then we could have strengthened the team, especially the defence in our relegation season. I understand the windows were brought in to set us up on a level par with the continental system, but the way it was in the past, we were able to sign players that kept us up. A few spring to mind, Micky Evans, Marian Pahars, Claus Lundekvam, Egil Ostenstadt, Eyal Berkovic, all players that came in during the season that strengthened us up and, ultimately, saved us from relegation in the 90's. This is also highlighted this week with the snow and ice. Effectively a week of the already short January window has gone, with very little chance of signings being completed. Does anyone else think the windows haven't helped us in the past, would you rather see the old system with one deadline day, or do you think the current system provides more excitement at the end of August and January?
  23. Yes, it suprises me that nobody snapped him up. With Murty likely to never play regularly for us, you'd think we could use a player of Volz's experience. No chance. He wants to play at the world cup, we all knew the hissy fits the poles had about playing for us, and that was when we were in the CCC!
  24. As I've said if you want a customer number, just email the ticket office with your name and address. They're more than helpful, and I got mine within two days.
  25. My missus is a Norwich fan, raised in the area. I won't say anything bad against them or the place. (Though it is a bit of a dive. :-D) Saints are much better though. :-D She's readily coming to St Mary's for the Ipswich game - pretty much the one and only time she'll be cheering us on!
