  1. Good win, frustrating win. Lovely to see the stadium so full, worthy of Premiership teams, just hoping it won't be too long before we're there! Exeter were determined to stop us playing football, and they did it quite well. They were the better team to start off with, and as my missus noted, our first goal was against the run of play. I completely missed the second goal, I'll have to watch the highlights tonight, but thought Papa's goal was very well taken. He's got a cool head. Lloyd James was my MOTM today, he's still not a brilliant defender, despite all the practise he's getting in that position, but attacking he was very good, he deserved his goal. On the contrary, Harding, my favourite player so far this season, was poor. Tackling poor, going forward poor. Hopefully a blip. Perry was very good. Has there ever been a shorter centre back? My missus (a neutral) pointed Antonio out for special mention - she thought he was very hard working, with creativity to boot. I've been critical of him in the past, and I still think he's a touch of a one trick pony, but worth a loan extention nonetheless surely. 3 points, however they come, is much appreciated. Winning against Colchester is an absolute must, though that'll be a toughie!
  2. Sprouts are the only food I've ever tried that has made me physically sick. Growing up, my dad never got the hint and always put one on my plate, which of course made everything else taste like sprout. My gag reflex worked overtime. My missus loves them. She will not be getting any loving after Christmas dinner.
  3. We hit rock bottom, it was before the beginning of this season, knowing we were going to be in League One with -10, without a pot to ****** in, still stuck in the depths of administration. Then a nice man call Markus Liebherr heard the prayers. Had he not come in, we'd be very lucky to still have a club to support, it's amazing to think that we could have started this decade flying high in the Premiership and end it non-existant. Lordy knows what the next ten years will bring, but we can be reasonably assured that the first couple of them will be good!
  4. It might be nice sitting next to the excited kiddywinks at Christmastime! Incidentally I'm glad she didn't choose a box...
  5. Has anyone noticed how many adverts from yesteryear are making it back onto our screens? I saw the old KitKat Father Christmas Raymond Briggs advert tonight, that took me back to my youth! Also, the old Milky Way ad with the Red car and the Blue Car, and, well there are others but memory escapes me. Oh yes, the John Cleese Accurist ad and the Persil ads through the years...... Have companies run out of ideas, or is it a nostalgia ploy?
  6. Get well soon MB. :-( I pray for your soul.
  7. What about pictures of ladies in skimpy ladywear?
  8. Just booked my tickets online for this. I let the missus choose my seats because she's offered to escort me to St Marys, despite being a Canary. She chose the Chapel, block 20. Sigh. Still, It's somewhere new. I've now gone from Kingsland North, to Kingsland South, to Chapel. Itchin and Northam watch out. :-D Tougher game than it looks on paper this one, but I still think we can win this. As mentioned before, the Brighton game will have taught the players not to take things for granted, besides which, if the Leeds game is to become irrelevant in the grand scheme of things this season, we can accept nothing less than a win. Looking forward to this one, I'm hoping to be in the Megastore before and after the game spending some of my hard earned Christmas Present Cash.
  9. I emailed the ticket office, go t a very helpful reply with a customer number I can use and instructions on how to use the online booking system. Well recommend it - saves the Ticket Office a headache on the night too!
  10. Either of the goals against Norwich in the League get my vote. I thought Connolly's was good, but Lallana's just edged it.
  11. Doesn't matter to much. Leeds are in a class of their own, and to keep them to a one-goal loss and the substitution of their best player wasn't too bad a result. I think people had generally written this game off as "anything we get out of it as a bonus", a win against Exeter on Boxing Day is imperative for us to forget yesterday. Definitely a couple of signings needed in January, just to freshen things up and maintain the push. Play-offs still not beyond us, we just have to keep up the will to win.

    Snow

It was thick here in Egham last night about 11, but by this morning the worst of it had gone. Outside it's virtually all melted from what I can see. I don't care - I'm doing sod all today, and enjoying the TV from under a duvet on my sofa. (I hope my missus is enjoying work...)
  13. AS much as I'm enjoying being in League One this season, I'd much rather be in the Championship, looking for that all important push into the Premiership. If we do perform miracles this season and somehow go up (which I still don't think will happen) with the current infrastructure at the club, I don't think we'll be seeing League One again for a VERY long time. (The same goes for promotion next season too).
  14. Betting AGAINST Saints = Win/Win. :-D Seriously though, whoever bet against us consistantly last season must be a fricking millionaire by now.
  15. Sorry about the numerous typing mistakes from me there, I must've been tired. If it does finish 0-0, I'd be very suprised. My money's going on 4+ goals, even when we play badly we seem to be scoring.
  16. 1 to post a picture of a girl in a bikini, completely unrelated to light bulbs (unless she happens to be holding one), which makes the fred NSFW. (Bates.) 1 to say something cool about light bulbs because he wants other people on the board to like him, and they pretend to but secretly they all think he's a p rickle. 102 to read what's going on about light bulbs on the Thread but never actually post anything.
  17. I don't care if we lose this as long as we play well enough. A draw would be a good result, and I'd take that - a win would be absolutely fantastic. Leeds haven't lost at home this season, and we're looking to continue our best away form in the post war period. If you're going to put a bet on - have a fullter on there being 4+ goals in this game! I wouldn't be getting ****y about the JPT, the MK Dons will wasnt it as much as we do. This match I'm going to stick my head out and go for a 3-3. (With us coming from behind for a change...)
  18. For the Bristol Rovers game, I decided to pay on the night, only to get to the ground 15 minutes before kick off and find a queue a mile long. We missed the first 15 minutes of the game. Last night, I had pre-booked my tickets, walked over to the collection point and picked them up. They cost me 12 quid less for two tickets, and I didn't have to queue. I will be doing this from now on. I wish they'd hurry up and allow members again so I can book online.
  19. We drew the game, we won the tie. The tie was basically two legs, with one match, and one penalty shoot-out. Taking Einstein's Theory of Relativity into account, and introducing it with Professor Stephen Hawking's work on black holes, I can categorically state that I am bored with this debate. :-)
  20. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=18676&page=3 About the "hattrick".
  21. What I said on the other thread was a joke BTW
  22. Realistically last night was a draw. However we won the tie, as the tie includes penalties. You COULD say tha Papa scored a hattrick last night...
  23. No denying it's a big catchment area, but if they go down this season, and it looks a real possibility, then they've got to get promoted twice in the next 7 years to make having a 45k stadium worthwhile. Strange decision that one.
  24. That'll put their new stadium plans on hold for a while. Plymouth lol
  25. I'm missing most of the World Cup next year due to work, so making this game would be ample consolation! ta.
