  1. I'm taking the Wenger tactic and saying I didn't see what happened, all I saw was a Norwich player rolling around on the floor for ages - I thought it was blatent time wasting tactics. Norwich were time wasting from about 15 minutes before the end of the game. Free kicks, throw ins, goal kicks, everything was taking ages. No wonder it escalated into a bit of fisticuffs.
  2. She's still 17 guys, and... ...oh hell, rule 1. Incidentally, what's the date of the JPT Wembley game if we get through?
  3. I thought it was hilarious and so did most of the people around me. In fact I was so busy watching the kid get carried away that I missed Antonio's penalty (and I'm sure it was because I ahdn't kissed my lucky charm). It was comic relief IMO, a kid that got too caught up in the excitement of the game. If, however, it does continue in future games, then it will need to be stamped out, one way or the other. I'm all for fun, but rules is rules.
  4. I may've been wrong because I was still laughing at that kid, but I think it was captain Hammond.
  5. I went last night because I wanted to see that game, not because spending £12 gives me the privilege of getting priority tickets to the next couple of rounds. That said, if we do get priority, I won't be complaining!
  6. You really, really don't want a rule 1 there Eric. :smt040
  7. Someone sat in my seat after half time, I sat elsewhere. Problem solved. And I was riled up from dropping my damn hot dog on the floor. Make love, not war.
  8. That was brilliant. He had some pace on him too, Pards should sign him up.
  9. This, although I'd be very tempted to put Waigo in for Morgan and have James in the middle.
  10. Just got in. Well worth the drive down - I took my missus (Norwich fan sitting ever so quietly next to me to avoid the ribbings) and while she wasn't happy with the result, she loved the staduim (her first visit). Compliments to the toilets, I was told to put on here. :-D As for the game, my God. I don't think my heart can take games like that, and I'm only 29! I honestly don't think we deserved to win after that second half performance, but the direct football right at the death won it for us. There were one or two good performances but we did at times look a little lacklustre. Once again I thought Harding was excellent, he was always willing to bomb down the left and has a good cross on him too. Hammond was really getting stuck in too, and honourable mention goes to James too - the best I've seen him play at right back. Of course, there's Waigo. Why he doesn't start is beyond me, he's better than from what I've seen of Antonio. I also thought Thomas sorted us out at the back when he came on. He's a calm head. I'd like to see him start against Leeds, I wasn't overly impressed with Trotman. I'm too tired to do ratings, but I'm happy. Well done Bart, I thought we'd miss Davis in the penalties.
  11. My Norwich supporting missus wanted to kill me tonight. So yes, we won, and Norwich lost! Incidentally, I'm glad I didn't bet on this match, but I did have Man U, MK Dons and Leeds to win, and have won a few quid for Christmas pressies. :-D
  12. Papa does have a touch of class about him, and I rate him more than I rate Antonio. He has that cheeky touch about him that can take the ball away from opponents, and his pace goes without saying. Granted he gets a few offsides, but he also weighs in with a few goals. He'd me my right midfielder of choice in the current team, I thought he was good tonight. Of that list above, which is most peculiar, I would rate Papa as the best in terms of quality, although Wright did give his all for this club in any position that was asked of him.
  13. I want Pardew to put out a full side and win this. Massive confidence boost before the Leeds game, which incidentally is a game I don't mind if we lose so long as we play well. How we do does depend on the starting line up, but we can win this. I'll be there, and I'm looking forward to it.
  14. No. I'm dragging mine and my Norwich supporting girlfriends arse to St Marys tomorrow, and I do not want to be humiliated. Full team please, rest people in the FA Cup.
  15. We cancelled our Christmas party due to lack of interest. That'll teach the organisers for having it on the 25th. Instead a popular colleague is having leaving drinks on the 23rd. Almost everyone is going to that, so it looks like that'll be the big night out.
  16. Worky work work work worky work work. :-( Stupid Underground staying open all night. That said, I finish at half ten, tis a case of whether I want to get paid extra to do a bit of overtime... Meh, I'll probably be allowed to leave early, so could always walk into someones house party. Though can't drink - back in New Year's Day.
  17. I wouldn't be so sure - be good to see a few of the fringe fighting for a first team space. My point is to rest the big players like Lambert and Hammond - if we're not going to do it in the JPT, I still think we should do it for the FA Cup. Yes it's a big competition but it's another game where players can get suspended/injured. If we go out, we go out, though I don't think we will, even with the fringe.
  18. That I wouldn't do. Walking from the ground after the Bristol Rovers game taught me that! Cheers guys, will wing it, don't want to steal spaces from the regulars!
  19. Cheers - yeah I've done some internet research and there are plenty of places to park just wondered which was the best. Might park at the uni and walk.
  20. He was still getting whacked during the early season form, but has been happy since. Thing is, I don't want to stop whacking him lest he gets too ****y, so from time to time he'll cop an unfortunate one.
  21. Take the free bus from the station to save time - trying to get it after the match is tricky though, seems to be first come first served - and if you miss it, you've got to walk fast to get the train back! I usually get the train from/to Winchester as it's easier to park and commute - but am thinking about driving into Southampton for the Norwich game and the Exeter game. Any ideas on the best places to park? (Legally, I don't care how much parking is but I don't want a ticket!)
  22. I'd rest the big players and play the fringe. Something like Bart, Murty, Thomas, Perry, Mills, Waigo, Wotton, James, Holmes, Patterson, Saga.

    Strachan

Strachan is a notoriusly slow started at the clubs he manages. He was for Coventry, he was for us, his first match at Celtic was a spanking to a club no-one had heard of. A manager takes time to stamp his authority on a club - something trigger happy chairmen do not always give time for. Pardew is a good case in point here - our early season form was poor and some people wanted Pardew replaced before he had even had time to tinkle at St Mary's. Good managers need time to change things, it take a miracle worker to instantly change things (unless they get lucky in the transfer windows a la Redknapp.)
  24. That's probably close to being correct. No matter what league we're in, I am restricted to just a handful of games a season due to shiftwork. The blessing with League One is that I can just turn up and buy a ticket on the gate. Back in the Premiership, that was virtually impossible.
  25. Lallana, after his terrible spell at Spurs, who signed him for £5 million at the end of the 2010-2011 season. Lambert, having banged in 30+ goals every season since signing. Hammond, like Marsden the lower league player that turns it up a gear no matter what League we're in. McLaggon, the best young player to come through the Saints ranks since Walcott.
