Ah but look on the up side. We never used to have these mandatory pressers, and it is nice to return to "not" having them.

My neighbour wrote to the club and got a reply about the PA system (Kingsland, or is it shît everywhere?) that they were going to work on it but couldn't before the Sunderland game. Hope now that the Int break has been and gone that they have got off their backsides.

It's not bull**** and I would never be that arrogant to dismiss how people feel as being pathetic. And what has now got to do with it? That there is bull****. And when we lose a match, I don't feel like poo, so please give some of us more credit that being overly whimsical. How old are you? Not going to say "oh it was different in the old days" although it was, but more that people change and what they like/do changes with age.

Jakko, why do you think all fans are so fickle? We are not, and it has nothing to do with the 4 games that we have played. I'm sorry that you fail to understand how others feel yet instead choose to lambast them. I would gop far as to say that it is the love of Saints that keeps me coming back. If I was ambivalent about Saints, then I would have given up with football by now, so while I dislike football for what it has become, my love of Saints is still stronger.

Changing subject somewhat, but top marks to Den Haag and Feyenoord.....http://video.dailymail.co.uk/video/mol/2016/09/12/1445591751867678543/640x360_MP4_1445591751867678543.mp4 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3784175/Den-Haag-fans-bombard-Feyenoord-supporters-cuddly-toys-Eredivisie-match-heartwarming-gesture-Sophia-Children-s-Hospital.html

Problem I've found with these changing rooms, is that they are used by able bodied people who can't be bothered to wait. Therefore they are often locked and you have to go and get a key from someone. Is that person always there to hand over a key? Maybe a key pad is the answer. And yes, well done Everton. What ****ed me off about Frannie's big run is that it raised £185k. He went to all 20 PL grounds and surely each club and some of the players could have chipped in to contribute to rech the £1m target. It's not as if the players aren't paid a king's ransom. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/BenalisBigRun

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/709965/Premier-league-news-football-England-Angry-Column-Manchester-United-Arsenal-Chelsea This is quite an interesting article (not least because it is the Express!!). I particularly liked - ‘This is a new dawn for English football’ was the connoisseurs’ general verdict after the Jose v Pep premiere. And therein lies the constant mistake. The Premier League is not English football, it is football that is played in England.......................................................In fact, the Premier League is akin to a twisted version of the Body Snatchers, borrowing our English club names such as Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal and sucking the true life out of it before parading it as an English club playing English football. And we take it all in, fawning over how great English football really is. Nonsense. but for me - absolutely looking forward to EL, but PL, I'm a bit meh but realise without it, EL won't happen.

I lost interest over the summer because of the advertising of the PL. Mourinho vs Guardiola. Klopp. Conte. All the best managers (supposedly) going to make it the best season. Blah blah blah. I know BT and Sky need to sell and promote the thing, but to me it was over kill, not least because they concentrate on the big clubs (naturally so) who I have no interest in. Another example happened this week. Radio ad for BT and up coming games. It was Arsenals game against PSG. Leicester's first CL game. Spurs against Monaco. And on Thursday, Man Utd against Feyenoord in that somewhat annoying tone they have. Now I am not really bothered that BT didn't bother to mention our Europa game, but for some reason passing over Leicester so blithely irked me some. That to me, a "neutral" so to speak, is by far the most fascinating game and should have been treated with somewhat more deference. But no, BT/Sky just big up the big boys.

Owners come, owners go. The club and supporters stay. They've been here for a while and will outlast any owner. But it is the way of football these days - franchise the **** out of it, and **** the local support.

Look on the bright side, half of you ******s said we were going to get tonked 5-0. Surely you must be happy that we didn't??? ******s.

Pathetic to see Godwin's Law playing out!! -
I called the ticket office yesterday to find when tickets were to arrive. He said being sent out now and hope to get them out BEFORE the game !!!!

Yup same envelope - all connected (ie address, tikcet 1, ticket 2, "customer copy" receipt). 2 customer numbers - same name - 1 over 65, 1 adult - seats next to each other

100%, I beat the same old drum about wanting to give up, yet somehow unsurprisingly, I keep on coming back. Personally I don't particularly like (to say the least) the nummamorous nature of football, as if they were short of a bob or two in the first place.

Just my 2 STs PS - obviously I missed your earlier posts regarding this.

Ditch international football??? I disagree that it doesn't make sense. I think it too easy to take a somewhat jaundiced view of things given the dross we are served up and have been for a decade or two.

Put yourself in the shoes of one of the supporters of the clubs that are going to be part of it. Do you really want it? Arsenal mid week trip to South Africa, South America, China etc? Your club has been turned into a franchise where domestic supporters are nothing more than background noise and atmosphere for the home games. The away games can have your overseas supporters representing the club. Is that really what is wanted?? Oh you hear the argument of why shouldn't overseas supporters get this and that, but I would have thought it obvious why not. And what happens to the league? This idea seems to be one that replaces the Champions League, which lets face it, is pretty damn boring. The rules put in place protecting the wealth and position of the top clubs, leads to the same teams playing each other the whole time, and far too often to boot. Overkill. I used to like watching it, and cheering on the English teams. Now I don't bother and hope they all loose as winning means they become even richer and it even harder for us to compete. But you aren't going to want to play on a Saturday, fly to Shanghai to play on Wednesday and then fly back to play the following Saturday/Sunday. If I was the PL, I would grow a pair and say to them, that fine, they can join the World League, but they would have to quit the Premier League.

Sparta tickets arrived this morning - any reason that they didn't send the other tickets as part of the bundle or is that way too complicated?

Would probably give up on football when (not if) it happens. Might start supporting Bashley Town

The Secret Footballer claims saints academy is critisised inside football
angelman replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
The criticism would only hold validity if Southampton was the sole supplier of players to the bigger clubs. We of course are not, not by a very very very (ad nauseam) long shot. But anyway, looking at our current 1st XI and the criticism that the high tempo passing players are white, I wonder which pigeon hole Boufal would fit into? He has been brought in to be the creative force in midfield - maybe that is the exception that proves the "rule". Oh but then there is 2015/16 Player of the Year, one Riyad Mahrez who was LCFC dynamo. So maybe it is whites and Arabs that can do it, but not blacks (not sure what colour Yaya Touré is!) -

It's faintly ridiculous to criticise Saints if the big boys have the race based policy. -

Serge Blanco smoked 40 a day.

Cruel? Pah, grow a pair. It's the truth hence why he has been sent on loan in the first place. He's being paid by Bournemouth £80k a week, and no doubt some more by Arsenal. Let's say that it is ONLY £80k a week, that's a mere 154 times the average national wage, or maybe you think he is entitled to a long well paid career?
