  1. Odd fascination over a player (or two) that most of the forum wise though were crap and never to be heard from?

    Cedric/Maehle

Relax, the mighty forum has spoken and said it's all good and we are safe, and summer's the time to recruit. For now, just shift everything you can cos RH is the the 2nd coming - do we really need that many plants in reception - forum please deal with.
  3. Thought this was a forum where people expressed their opinions - if you don't agree, fine but do so respectfully IMO. Things are not as black and white as you paint out - I think everyone is behind RH (certainly I am) . As I and many have said, wait and see until the end of the window, as up to Ced/Austin very happy with the outs, but's let's not over chance our luck. Does keeping some insurance for a mere 4 months matter in the great scheme of things? By all means get rid in the summer. I would rather risk losing 1 to 2M by selling in the summer (proviso, we don't get replacements now), than relegation - that's all folks are concerned about.
  4. Well who other than RH knows really? Me if I was out of work and someone offered me a longish deal on good money, I would take it even if they asked me to cut the grass at the end of every game, particularly if I believed in my own abilities. As I said in an earlier post it's not about the long term strategy, which I completely buy in to, rather how much do you risk in the Jan transfer period versus longer the term? RH has achieved a minor miracle so far - do we really want to push our luck much further? I remain hopeful until the window closes. One thing I guarantee is that if we get relegated, they very people who are behind this blind/complete (take your pick) support of club/RH (again take your pick) strategy, will be the very first critics of same.
  5. As some have said, I will wait until end of the transfer window before jumping the gun, and indeed am all for removing the deadwood etc. I would just rather we did some of this in the summer once we are safe - not all just some. RH has been great so far, and you could argue too good - in that no one would have expected such an extraordinary transformation in such a short time (specially given our recent record with both manager and player recruitment). Prior to RH, let's face most of us were expecting the worst. Can we really expect RH to continue this miracle, or rather better it with less and less resources? More importantly, do we need to take the risk? Up until the Cedric deal, and now the rumored Austin move, I was fine. However, we are still very much in a relegation fight and are our finances so poor that we need €500K loan fee and wages more than Ced as a backup (fine don't have him starting) in case the youngsters start to struggle? Same with Austin - can't believe we will get much for him? RH said recently he saw Austin as important player for some of the game - presumably last 10 to 15 mins if we needed a goal to rescue us? Have further clear outs in the summer once we are safe, even if we get less - let's face it, it will cost us a dam sight more if we are relegated. Anyway let's see what the final situation is on 1st Feb is
  6. Hope none of the Saints players decide to walk the dog now

  8. My first Saints game - school mates dragged me out to the game, as wasn't into footy at all, and instantly loved it - not a great game overall as I remember it but the finish was the greatest buzz. So thanks Hughie for my addiction to Saints ever since :-)
  9. Struggling to think who the last signing who is now a regular in the first team and has improved us is (hung over today mind!). Ings is a work in progress for me - so far so good but not enough games. Who else? PEH / Big Mac in 16/17 season - maybe Redmond?
  10. This was always going to be a problem - our tactics were going to be countered at some point - just hoped it was a bit later than last night! Pep is a master at tactics too, so we will need a plan B, hope Ralph has a few up his sleeves?
  11. Whole team was a bit under power today to be fair. Not sure what happened - Ref didn't help but, we were second best all game. Hopefully it's out of our system and we get something against City and Chelsea (point each maybe?) to get us back on track. Our problems are deeper than a two game euphoria.
  12. Deffo bad day at the office. Not sure what happened to be honest - had Red scored early doors it might have been a different result, but even when we went ahead via a very iffy goal we did not look confident. We did not have the same energy - lot of the players were exhausted in the final 30 mins - Targett had cramp early 2nd half. Big Mac had his worst game I have seen. Certainly not the better team - hopefully they can put it behind them and maybe get a draw next game?
  13. You seriously want Fulham to win? We are far from safe and I for one would like to keep as many clubs below / near us as possible. Last two games have been great but I think we are in for a few more bumps in the road yet.
  14. For Sky Ireland viewers - match is on Ch 402 - no Sky Sports sub required
  15. Says it all really, making Cardiff look like a good team. Pity RH - he has a massive task - wonder if he has a 14 day cancel clause in his contract?
  16. Indeed - clearly shows we have the squad to match and maybe even better the likes of Man U. Problem is lack of fitness, confidence and concentration - all of which the manager should be putting right. Get a manager to get a 10 to 20% improvement on these aspects and we survive, don't we are down - it's that simple.
  17. not sure I survive the rest of the game!

One man went to fish, one man went to fish! One man got a lot of nibblers but no catch :-)
  21. No, and the longer we delay the greater the certainty of the drop. Club supposedly don't want to make the same mistake as last time - well Hughes should have been sacked at half time yesterday. Rome/Fire/Fiddling words come to mind for some reason!

Go on - have another laugh at my email protest now. At least I called it early and did something - if enough did the same, things will change. However if you are happy to wallow in self pity, so be it, it's a free country (at least for now)
  23. I am always intrigued when a 3rd party feels the need to defend someone - are you two a couple or something? This is a forum - I made a comment - get over it. Call it false news if it makes you happy. My only point was that Reed got rid of Puel for what ever reason, and maybe (just maybe) our owner thought (on top of many other issues) that he got it wrong. But hey keep on abusing if it makes you feel better - I like to help my fellow men :-)
  24. Whoosh - went straight over your head that one didn't it? Or do you just like arguing about anything and everything?

    Hughes OUT

Maybe, but it's a bit like saying half a turd is better than a full one, when it fact it's still a turd at the end of the day.
