  1. Anyone know if there is a way of checking what your ‘balance’ is on any tickets exchanged. Just seems to disappear into the either after a game and not clear if any money is credited until next years renewal.
  2. I think Grainger only played twice. From memory let in 6 at Everton and the following week 5 at spurs, with Shilton missing a rare couple of matches. The game at spurs (5-3?) was my first ‘run of the mill’ away game. Went with a mate who knew Keith a bit. Barton was my guess too. Hadn’t heard the bouncing cheque story.
  3. Here it is https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-08-15/programme-interview-southampton-manager-mark-hughes
  4. I thought it might be interesting to track our excellent manager’s reasoning when (or if) we lose any competitive matches, to see if any themes emerge across the season which might indicate where any problems are within the side. So far there’s nothing to report.
  5. An advantage at the very start of the season, when you have a better competitive edge, and thereafter a disadvantage due to reduced recovery time, I should think.
  6. Lovely stuff in the champs league last night https://mobile.twitter.com/Mahmoud_SFC/status/1029452472484614144?s=08
  7. Perhaps the clue is in “transfer window” not being “signing window”, or something like that.
  8. Welcome Danny Ings. One thing is for sure, the saints fans will all give you a chance to show what you can do before making judgement.
  9. Stop press - my sons arrived today, with loads of accompanying SFC “stuff”. COYR
  10. I have been put off ever betting again by the ‘betting adverts’ which make me feel rather nauseous.
  11. I’m regretting that Pelligrino one I got this time last year.
  12. Got mine - but no sign of my son’s.
  13. Old Thumper would be amazing. Sort it out Les.
  14. When Saturday Comes, an average of a fan from each club, has us on 12.95 (14th best). Man City top on 1.05 (I’m guessing, the United fan maybe?) Cardiff bottom on 19.40
  15. Me too, for sure. But then, I sometimes think I’d like Papa Waigo back.
  16. Would lallana now be a World Cup winner if he’d stayed with Saints?
  17. Yes, it seemed so - only said out of stock when you got as far as purchasing what was in your basket.
  18. Looks like all adult sizes out of stock now
  19. He’s not travelling to China by the looks of it
  20. I agree, especially if the u21’s defeat somehow changes the remaining first team fixtures so they are much easier and that gives us an outside chance of a trophy. The loss of momentum would be particularly important in that scenario.
  21. Also recall him scoring a corker of a free kick in our last home game of the successful 89/90 season - to make it 3-0 v Coventry. Must be the only Saint to appear on the Big Screen?
  22. Forster hasn’t made a mistake for about 6 months.
  23. What? Ok you could argue against it but at a minimum there is an extremely good case for Shilton being on there. He was immense for us - the best player in the world in his position - and played for us at his peak. He might well still be our highest capped payer (49 while with us from memory). He certainly used to be. In my view Fonte is not in his league.
  24. If Le Tiss played today he’d also be very fit - and amazing obvs. Killer would I think be great. Agree that Jimmy might struggle with today’s refs. Although we certainly wouldn’t have conceded that last minute goal at Everton with him in the side. I can still feel one his tackles, on Sharpe I think, at goodison from c1990. He didn’t get up.
  25. Ok - why is 81/82 better than the obvious 83/84 answer? Team full of stars - didn’t we have 5 England captains at one point? And Keegan was incredible - there was no one remotely like him in the 83/84 team. Amazing football nearly every week - lots of goals at both ends. We were top for ages, towards the business end of the season, and I actually thought we would win it (I remember Frank Bough saying “and Southampton extend their lead at the top” on Grandstand, without any surprise in his voice, so I wasn’t the only one.) 83/84 was also great to but we didn’t really ever look like winning the league. We were 5th or 6th most of the season from memory and it was only a very late amazing run than got us up to 2nd. I think it was out of reach way before the end. Although the run to the semi was great - exposure on national live TV was a novelty too - we also had Adrian Heath and my worst moment in football.
