  1. Please don't shoot the messenger. A rumour's not a rumour until it has been shared.
  2. So, you won't be going to the games then? I'm looking forward to it, providing we get a manager who knows what he's doing and a squad of players who want to try and make something of their footballing careers.
  3. I am of the same opinion. Let's just go away and come back when it's all over. Some people on here are like my wife; she will read the last page of a whodunnit because she can't bear the suspense.
  4. Well, they used to wear Tesco's bags for shirts.
  5. I might well have gone on the day but I cannot commit in advance. Now I'll have to stay in and do the decorating.
  6. Thanks for your kind thoughts. Where would our rivalry be without one of the rivals?
  7. ... and halving the number of lifeboats.
  8. Leeson would probably have done a better job than Poortvliet.
  9. Whatever may happen in the future, from a personal point of view the shareholders would have been better off accepting the offer.
  10. Playing 2 up front is a bit adventurous, don't you think?
  11. Do you think we will have that many players?
  12. I would expect that the players are on fixed-term contracts for 'the performance of certain services'. That would save on the NI and pension contributions.
  13. Fair enough. Next suggestion?
  14. I have always understood that to be the case.
  15. I have never forgiven him for selling Maik Taylor for £500k and buying Paul Jones for £1m. We could do with that money now.
  16. I once asked him what wrent wrong at Torquay. He said that it was important to have a good relationship with the chairman. Perhaps that's where we have been going wrong?
  17. Not necessarily wrong: 'And did those feet...' In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void. 'And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you...' And I think Tessem's probably passed it, but I wouldn't mind having a look at Telfer.
  18. I agree. I think it cost us a few points towards the end.
  19. Is this another proof of Godwin's Law? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law
  20. All this is true, but taking a -10 sanction at the end of the season when you know that you are safe is not the same as starting the season on -17.
  21. Don't we have the record for the lowest percentage of wins in any division, and have done so for many years?
  22. Whether the money was all paid up front or not is irrelevant, it's still a commitment to £1.2m. If only £600k was paid as a deposit then the rest is part of the debt that the club is due to pay. Either way it was crazy expenditure for a club in our position. Remind me again, how many goals has he scored?
  23. I'll take that as a 'no' then.
  24. We managed the relegation all by ourselves. The -10 was not needed this season so we get in next instead.
