Perhaps we're not paying because he's 'not fit for purpose'?

This Season - Carbon Copy of Prem Relegation
Whitey Grandad replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I was watching the game in which Crouch was playing at the weekend and I noticed that in the last few minutes he ran the ball into the corner to waste time. The commentator made some remark about 'Crouch using his experience to run down play'. It makes you want to spit, dunnit? -
They're certainly not playing like they were. maybe complacency set in when they thought we were going to be safe. I don't know whether singing "the Saints are staying up" was tempting fate a bit too much.

It's not just you. Maybe it's the pattern of results. When we won 3 in a row I momentarily felt a brief surge of optimism but we're not winning one, losing one, we seem to be stuck in a run of draws and I don't get the feeling that the players have the belief or determination to get us out of this. In the home games against Preston and Cardiff there was a desire and confidence that seems to have evaporated of late.

It looks to me like it's the reduction in VAT. £27.40 = £28.00 *1.15/1.175 -
This Season - Carbon Copy of Wotte's Relegation of Den Bosch
Whitey Grandad replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
No, I agree that WGS might well have stayed if he felt that the club was going somewhere. He's not the only manager who has left us because of, let's call it, a 'lack of ambition'. I'm also not that impressed by Wotte. When I heard that Poortvliet had gone I was quite excited for a few moments, until I heard who his replacement was. -
I must admit that I have been concerned in a couple of home games lately where we have been drawing a game and Wotte tries to bring a sub on in injury time. To me, this indicates a complete misunderstanding of our predicament.

I think we have 4 'must-wins' out of 7 games, and we don't want them to be the last 4 games, do we?

I thought it was a hip operation? I read at the time that his settlement from Coventry had finally been sorted so he could afford to take some time off, but this would be a private matter between the two parties. As for Wotte, we can't really form an opinion until we see how the next few weeks pan out. Bright start but a bit of a slip back lately. Worrying times indeed. -

If I remember correctly, Coppell was paid around £1.2m a year in the premiership and this fell to about £720k p.a. after relegation. I doubt that we have been paying anything close to those figures. -
Charlton resigned to going down - now playing for pride

Has JP not leaving earlier cost us our championhip status?

We shall know the answer to this question in six weeks' time, if not before. -
No worries, then.

So that our 'chosen men', our 'elite squad' could trample over it and we could all rejoice.

Some archaeologist will dig up St. Mary's and wonder what it was built for. He will probably conclude that it had a 'ritual' purpose where the local population would come and worship once a fortnight.

That's good to hear. Perhaps his long-term plan will be starting to show results by then.
