  1. It was a good performance against a team up at the top of the table and we should have been given a penalty that would probably have won the game, and in isolation we could be satisfied with that, but in the wider context it was another 2 points dropped and I can't see where we are going to win the 7 or more games that we need out of the 20 that are left.
  2. Yup, I agree completely.
  3. I'm not looking forward to this game, as usual. I'd like to be pleasantly surprised but I've completely given up hope, to be honest.
  4. I think you'll find that it was the first team.
  5. Nah, they're far too good for us.
  6. you mean, like quoting from an anonymous letter?
  7. I read it too this morning: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1101951/Forest-Calderwood-chop-Doncaster-defeat.html 'with former Derby boss Billy Davies the hot favourite to take over'
  8. There's enough material there for a thesis.
  9. At home, to Leyton Orient HTH
  10. It usually does, it's called 'regression to the mean', but that normally applies where the team is in a false position due to a run of bad luck. I think that even the most apologetic of the posters on here have given up using that particular excuse.
  11. There's a gap opening up between the four of us down there and all the others. For the second half of the season our form has got to improve by at least 6 points unless we are very, very lucky.
  12. Staying up is looking increasingly less likely but if by some miracle or change of management we didn't go down, then we can expect more of the same but much, much worse.
  13. I hope it's true, somebody needs to take a grip at this club. It just goes to show how important it is to have experienced older players in the club. ...oh
  14. The premiership is smaller now than it was back then, and the 'Champions League' has a lot to answer for.
  15. So explain to me why we play the 'multiball' system at home?
  16. Lighten up, SOG, we can all see the irony for what is is... As for experience, there's no substitute for playing real games. Many of us can remember when they played 3 games over Easter and Alan Ball (God bless him) won the world cup and was back playing in the league less than two weeeks later. Let's not start looking for excuses where there are none.
  17. He's our only goal threat.
  18. ... and the sub was Paul Moody!
  19. There are several thousand stay-away fans who seem to think differently...
  20. Nobody woul buy the club in its present state.
  21. A Happy Christmas to one and all! Just remember that sitting through years of rubbish makes the good times all the sweeter. I know what I want for a present - how about you?
  22. Banning him from St Mary's on matchdays is pathetic. It also deprives the club of much-needed income. He'll be just one more number added to the thousands who stay away because of the grotesque mis-management of our great football club.
  23. Maybe booing McGoldrick will be the kick up the backside that he needs. What do you expect? A polite 'well done old chap'?
  24. It was blindingly obvious on Saturday, especially below me in the second half. There were wide open prairies where you could have grazed a herd of buffalo. Perhaps Jan should sit in the stands to see it. He's not doing much good on the touchline.
  25. If it's sold-out then we obviously set the prices too low....
