  1. Au contraire. Mankind will adapt and survive but the UK is not going to save the world by its actions or inactions. Regarding the OP, there is a lot of evidence that CO2 is a lagging indicator.
  2. I’ve just seen MOTD. McCarthy got caught a couple of times by being too close to his line. The disallowed Werner goal he started to come for the cross and then retreated to his line. For their third he was a couple of feet too close to his line. I think the red card was harsh especially in those conditions. We had been told that VAR would not lead to re-refereeing of the game but this has happened a lot.
  3. Not without falling asleep.
  4. The two are not connected. If we spend £35tr it will make no difference to the earth tomorrow. If only it were that simple.
  5. These sports are mainly stop and go. Football is superior in that it can be end to end stuff at high pace and intensity.
  6. It’s only just October FFS. Nobody got relegated before the leaves have fallen. It’s not that long ago that nobody looked at the table until ten games had been played.
  7. I blame the parents.
  8. Ooh! Young man!
  9. Then I shall apologise to the gentleman. Sarcasm doesn't come across too well in the printed form. My apologies sir
  10. That's quite a leap of logic there. Player out injured for several weeks not coming straight back into the first team lineup shock.
  11. No. Some might, but nowhere near as many would if they were not vaccinated. That’s the whole idea.
  12. Tomáš Pekhart came on as a substitute for Legia and the commentator said that he spent four years at Tottenham but also came to Saints on loan. He made tenappearances for us and scored a home goal against Ipswich. I don’t remember him at all.
  13. M27 and M3 services now both out of fuel. Our local Shell is shut as is Tesco at Bursledon. Asda Chandlers Ford had both diesel and petrol with a £30 limit yesterday but no limit today.
  14. Or look at the UK and see how vaccines have brought the spread under control.
  15. So because no garage ran dry in your town there's no need to panic? Well bully for you. I see a pattern developing here. You've made a shedload of money out of the pandemic/Brexit/whatever so what on earth is anybody complaing about? Well I can tell you Sunny Jim, Most garages in Southampton and the surrounding area are completely empty. But there's no need to panic, none whatsoever.
  16. I think you're supporting the wrong club.
  17. But at full risk of passing it on to others. These are very expensive assets who are making themselves unavailable for work.
  18. The predictions were right, weren’t they? Self-fulfilling prophecies of course.
  19. It’s more than 0.4% around me. The services on the M27 between J4-J3 had run out today.
  20. N’Golo Kanté will miss this one having tested positive for Covid.
  21. It doesn’t work like that.
  22. Bednarek could have killed that attack by attacking the ball and not the player. All he had to do was head it back upfield. Instead he went upfield to get tight on Jimenez and the ball sailed over his head by which time he was on the turn and bound to get out-muscled. There's an old saying about centre halves which goes "Dont' let the ball touch the ground.
  23. Strangely enough I quite like the thought of that.
  24. These medium and long term approaches are all very noble but they don't help us in the short term.
  25. Made even worse if the opposition score first and can just sit back and defend.
